I really wanted to like this place and had high hopes but unfortunately I did not get haircut as expected. I felt haircut was rushed and you don't get thorough attention to haircut. It felt like in and out service versus salon. My haircut turned uneven which was pretty simple to do right. Now I have to cut more to fix my hair with another stylist. I give 3 starts for not cutting much of my hair so I can fix it in few weeks. But unfortunately I will not come back and it was supposed to be for my birthday. Never in my life have I had my hair turn out like this. I had a partial highlight service/ touch up. I didn't see this when leaving, but was in a rush. I check in my car half way home and noticed a large blonde chunk. Upon sending photos, Johnny was willing to fix it, but in no way apologized or tried to rush me back in for this embarrassment. Do not go here. You can see the type of work that goes on here. The back right side isn't even as highlighted as the rest, the highlights don't even go to the root and there was no root blend as I had asked for. Save yourself the frustration. Said is great at listening to what we want, making suggestions, and always finishing with a haircut we are really happy with. We each have very different types of hair - my son has thick, beachy hair, my husband has short wavy hair, my daughter is a teen with thick hair and likes to change her style often, and I'm always looking for a stylish, low-maintenance cut. Last week I noticed a big article in one of Redondo's local papers, the Easy Reader, titled "A styling star lands in Redondo". The write-up was about celeb hair stylist Scott Parker, and said that at age 23 he'd already opened his own salon in Beverly Hills & went on to do hair for characters on TV & film, and more than 100 album covers. I'm talking the likes of David Bowie, Anne Heche, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and.....*cough*Al Pacino.... Well. I read that entire great article, about Scott's creative philosophies & his rep in the industry....and made an appointment for a consultation the very next day. I've been driving to Beverly Hills to get my hair done, and Scott still does work in BH a couple days a week. But now he has the idea to set up shop in Redondo, too.....for us locals who want BH quality without the travel hassle. Um....count me in. Upon first chatting with Scott, I immediately knew our ideas would click. His biz card says "Hair God". It also says that this award-winning stylist has been named one of the top 10 in the U.S. of A., a specialist in cutting, coloring, extensions & permanent straightening. As if that was not enough, the Redondo salon is "green", meaning it uses environmentally-friendly products that ensure no harmful chemicals will penetrate one's scalp. My first appointment was today, at which time I got color, highlights & cut. Does my hair look great? Of course. Does the salon offer easy, free street parking just off PCH near my home? Yep. Cost? Comparatively, affordable. Trust me. Did I have fun talking with Scott? OMG! Good thing I brought a check, because for now it's check or cash, no plastic. Scott hadn't heard of Yelp before today. A salon is only as good as the people who work there, so I am not commenting on the salon, but on the stylist. Norma IS and will be THE only stylist who will EVER touch my hair. I have been seeing Norma for years; she is back at Jason Patrick. What I LOVE about Norma is, she listens to her customers, but also gives you her opinion. As a professional, she knows what she's talking about. We've played with color in my hair for years. I always wanted to go Red, but needed to take baby steps...well now I'm addicted. Women STOP me on the street to tell me how beautiful my color is; "OMG I LOVE your hair"...The Red she has infused into my Blonde looks incredible. This is the second time that I am writing a review for this salon. I have been coming to Said for about 10 years and always walk out satisfied. I have had amazing cuts, styles, and the Brazilian blowout and have never walked out unhappy. My hair is naturally curly and very fine. It is hard to grow my hair long without it getting stringy but over the last couple of months and after growing out the Brazilian blowout, Said has given me a cut that has accentuated my curls and allowed me to grow my hair long! Said and his staff are very friendly and provide excellent services. Said isn't pushy and sells wonderful products that are Eco-friendly and great for my hair. I called about a voucher off of here, the $100 for $130 in service. They told me to just pay there and not on this site!? I had CiCi. While she is okay as a person, she's not a good business person. I explained exactly what I wanted, brought a color picture, even a hair extension piece to match. My own hair was not far from these, so no problem! Right? She did it and although the color was nice, the highlights were not as expected. When I got home, rechecked it, I knew I had to have her fix it! When I called and told her, she said I'd have to pay "the costs" of the product and she'd redo it. First she said $40, then I complained and she said $30.... to cover the "dyes, foils, etc". Needless to say, I still was not happy afterwards. I DID not get the $100 for $130 after all! I paid $30 after, to fix it. And ended up going to someone else a month later. I absolutely lovvvvve Cece's cut, color, extensions and Brazilian blowouts. She does an awesome job with my temperamental hair - it's thick, curly and frizzes up quickly. It's also naturally black, but Cece is able to add beautiful honey color highlights and take the frizz out with Brazilian blowouts. I 100% recommend Cece!!!! Even with pictures and a video of exactly how to get the style I wanted, "Said" couldn't get it done. I grew my hair out for an ENTIRE YEAR to get it, and Said literally hacked off 2+ inches too much, even though I told him to leave it LONGER. I should have known that someone who didn't know the name of one of the most prestigious salons on the west coast would do such a poor job. With how bad peoples taste is I'm really not surprised so many people have good luck with this place. They're nice enough, but what good is that if you can't even follow a simple step by step video of how to do a style? If Said had taken the time to watch the video, he might have actually learned something. But, no...ego stylists like Said know everything and can't ever get better. I asked for my money back and was brushed off. I will be taking it up with my bank and possibly taking action against Said and the salon. I saw a great add on the Internet for 50% off so i called and booked an appointment early this month. When I got there I wasn't greeted. There were a couple stylists and they didn't even say Hi and it was super quiet. Talk about awkward!! Finally the presumed stylist for my scheduled appointment approached and sat me down to talk. The first thing I thought was odd was that her breath smelled like alcohol!!! I swear to this day that she had been drinking!! When it came to the shampoo and condition I was displeased with the excessive amount of shampoo in my ears. She couldn't stop talking during the cut....Well I mean she did stop cutting my hair to talk though. I told her no more than 3 inches off on the shorter part of my layers. I told her i wanted to keep my length. BIG SURPRISE. When my hair was dried I saw that she cut off a foot of my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A whole foot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did it inch by inch and had me fooled. Look i was kind of in shock and in the mode of "OK Maybe i just need to get used to the cut. So I payed and left. I regret not leaving when any of these things happened during the process of my hair getting cut. When I got home I used a mirror to look at the back of my hair. None of the layers were even. AND not in the fun flirty way. It was the I just cut my hair myself kind of style. When I woke up today and saw my hair I got so pissed that I had to wright a review and warn others!! I am mad that i payed for my confidence to be hacked and that I still can't wear my hair down. I shouldn't have paid. I should have left. AND I am not going back. This review is long overdue. A couple of months ago (May), I was dying to try the Brazilian Blowout, but not loving the prices that the salons were charging, since it was the latest trend for hair. My hair is... kind of inbetween wavy and straight (which probably means frizzy), and the Brazilian Blowout seemed to be the best cure for my crazy hair. I don't live in the area, but I was talking to a girlfriend who lives in the Redondo Beach area about this latest BBO craze. She told me she had it done to her own hair a few months prior. I was loving her hair, and was sold on getting the greatment done. She recommended me to Jason Patrick Salon, and to ask for Said (who is also the owner). Not only did she recommend me to this place, but she had a 50% off coupon in their local paper for any treatment! Awwweeeesome. Double sold! I made an appointment in late May, and went to go see Said. I even called in advance to ask all my lingering questions about BBO. I felt comfortable, and made the appointment shortly thereafter. Parking wasn't a hassel at all. Everything was great. The best part? $150 for my Brazilian Blowout. I bought some Purology products to boot, and I was extremely happy with my decision. read more

I've been going to Sayeed at Jason Patrick Salon for about a year now. I'm a really picky customer. Fancy salons don't impress me, but a good cut and end product and a clean salon do. I don't care about someone who chit chats the whole time. In fact, I like that about Sayeed, he focuses on your hair. For years, it was a pet peeve of mine that these hairdressers I would go to would feel their social skills were part of the price of admission. He's very accommodating to your schedule which is also very important to me. I realize I'm not the perfect customer that books weeks in advance, but he took me at 6pm on a weekday recently- which really helped me out. He is very precise in his cutting and goes back over after drying and styling to ensure there are no areas he missed. He really seems to excel in coloring my hair to the most beautiful blonde color. :) his prices are competitive w/ the area. Of course, I would love (like anyone) to save a little bit more money but I haven't found anyone less expensive that is as good as Sayee is. I just try to space out my appointments so that I can afford his services. As long as I am a local resident I think I will continue to visit Jason Patrick salon for my cut and color. So the tough part about cutting hair as a profession is that you are typically judged on your last hair cut. With regard to Jason Patrick Salon and Said in particular, I could judge him off the last cut or the last 30 cuts, it doesn't matter, because each time, he does a great job. Always respectful and professional, Said listens and always responds very well to my requests. But what has made me keep coming back to Said is the simple fact that his cuts make your hair look good for weeks to come. Two more important points, atmosphere and attitude. I have heard of multiple horror stories when it comes to hair salons and clients not getting what they want, but at this salon, it's a completely different story. The environment is very great and they make sure they know exactly what you want. But this particular review is for Noemi Ramos. She is AMAZING!!!! I only trust her with my hair, and every time she does anything to it, I'm amazed at how great it looks. I mostly leave my hair style up to her because I trust her so much. Here is a rundown of why I chose Jason Patrick salon after searching: BLONDE HAIR: Said (pronounced SAY-EED) the owner, is a great "blonder" he knows how to make it look fresh, bright, and natural and NOT brassy ORGANIC PRODUCTS: He recommends products that are green and not too pricey BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT: It is worth it to get a certified professional to do this one. And his product does not contain formaldahyde. I love this treatment...my hair is so silky smooth and no need to flatiron after blowdry!! Its an investment ..but it lasts 2-4 mos LOW KEY ENVIRONMENT: The salon is clean and not pretentious. Said can chat you up if you want, or let you read the latest mag and just work on your hair.
