Been going here for awhile and I see Kim Brookhart. She's awesome - an animal lover and completely adorable. She's very talented with color. My hair has been going silver for years, so good coloring is important. I also like fun hair styles, and she came up a super fun style where I could have a cool color but change my part to the other side in the event I need to mask it (for work purposes). Check out the pics to see my hair. The salon is never too crowded, doesn't blare obnoxious music, has lots of trashy magazines to read while your hair sets, and you can have food delivered to the salon if you get hungry. FYI - lots of street parking but it's metered - beware the street ticket and watch the meter! read more

After confirming that they do walk-ins he set me up with a stylist... AMANDA needs more love on here! She is the whole reason I am writing this 5-star review (which I rarely ever take the time to write in the first place). She is the first stylist I've ventured to trust with my hair after having gone to the same stylist for over a decade in Hawaii. I'm glad I sat in her chair last week. On my first visit, she cut my bangs and was mindful of trimming the right length off my ends, just the way I wanted them. And just like that, I scheduled for the following week to have my hair highlighted by her. Something came up and Amanda couldn't keep the appointment, but she was very good about contacting me to reschedule for the first slot the next morning, while also being very apologetic. (I was completely fine with this because my schedule was flexible.) My second visit, I took the plunge and had my hair colored by my new stylist Amanda. She matched my previous color PERFECTLY and made my highlights look very natural. She's also really easy to talk to, which isn't always the case with new stylists. I was recommended to go to Emily by a friend and I absolutely love her. She is fast and does an amazing job with color and cut. I really love the location, it is a nice salon. They use great products post treatment and you leave loving your hair! It is hard to find some as talented as Emily, I am throughly satisfied and will stay with Emily no matter where she goes. The things she told me were completely unacceptable: - taking personal calls while you were working - not listening to the needs of your client - suggesting another color other than what she asked for I don't expect the money to be returned but as far as I am concerned - you stole from me. Christal is THE BEST!! Christal is the only person in CA I would trust with my hair. During my teenage years she fixed countless hair experimentations, box-color gone wrong, and "self stylings" !! When I grew out of those fazes she always knew how to perfectly cut and color my wavy crazy hair so that it would lie flat and sleek. Perfect cut EVERY time. She still does my Moms hair every month, and my Mom always comes out looking much happier (and blonder, of course). Had an appointment with stylist Johnny Owens. Walked in on time but he's a no show. Assistant said nothing to me. Acted embarrassed but offered no assistance. Another stylist came to my rescue and colored my hair. She called me on Tuesday and asked about my experience. As for Johnny still waiting for his call! Dude you are in a service business. Is it too much to ask to call or text if something comes up but to completely ignore your customers is unforgivable. Needless to say you lost me as a customer. Remember a key rule in business. Okay so I don't normally ever write reviews (like ever) but since I just wrote a review for my wedding venue,figured why not do it for the person that did my hair. With that being said,I got married almost 2 months ago,was searching high and low for a person to do my hair,maybe a month before my wedding my sister recommended me to a girl named Ana who she found through a friend. So I contacted Ana,sent her pictures of what I wanted,ended up driving to Redondo Beach to do my hair trial. Ana was super nice and did my hair exactly how I wanted ( I was going for those vintage waves because my whole wedding theme was vintage) and knew that I wanted her to do my hair for my wedding. The day of the wedding Ana showed up at my apartment where I was getting ready,set my curls,while I was getting my makeup done she did my bridesmaids hair. After I was done with my makeup Ana finished my hair....and that's where the problem is....I looked in the mirror and my hair looked absolutely nothing like what it did the day of my trial. I really wish I had taken a picture of my hair the day of the trial to compare but sadly I forgot...I paid $180 on something I could of done myself,super super simple and flat,nothing special. I curl my hair on a daily basis for work and it looks better than it did on my wedding day,very sad. I look back at the pictures of my wedding and I'm super disappointed with my hair. What sucks is that I really liked Ana,she was super nice and like I said I don't ever write reviews but I just had to because this was my wedding day and just a total disappointment. read more
