This was our first time visiting the Duc Duc Too Salon. I had made an Appointment with Kim to have her do an updo for my daughter since her Prom was last Night. Prior to the Appointment Kim was very good about messaging me and asking me what my daughter wanted her hair to look like. I even sent her a picture of the dress that my daughter would be wearing so she had an idea of what direction to go in. When we arrived at the Salon Kim greeted us and she was very warm and friendly. We got a great vibe from her right away. Kim took the time to assess my daughter's hair and they both agreed on what style to go with which ended up being a half up half down updo with a side braid and curls. Kim was very professional and you can tell that she knows what she is doing and she is great at it. While I waited for my daughter Kim was also talking to me and she has a fun personality which made the time pass quickly. The end result was amazing and my daughter had a big smile on her face. We set up a future Appointment with Kim for her to do highlights on both of us and we will be coming here for years to come! Thank you again Kim! read more

Hau is utterly delightful!! He has mad skill with the scissors! (He trained at Vidal Sassoon Academy.) My hair is very difficult -- I have cowlicks and swirls and sections where it's thick and curly and other sections where it's thinner and straighter. It could be a hairstylist's nightmare but Hau took it on! He had TOTAL ATTENTION TO DETAIL, examining each section as he went,paying attention to what my hair does naturally. That means he gave me a haircut that I can just shake and go. And, get this: After I played with my hair for a few days, I decided that I wanted it shorter around the neckline so I texted him and he told me to come in that same day. When I arrived I apologized and told him I hoped I wasn't too much of a nuisance, he was totally welcoming and didn't give me any attitude. I am a tough customer and Hau impressed me. This review is for Marjan and the facial services. I came here after reading some reviews and wanted to try a new facial place/person. Making the appointment was pretty easy, called the salon and then Marjan called me on her personal number and I was able to book something for the same week which was great. Her hours are pretty accommodating as well, especially for someone who works until around 6pm. Her room is in the back of the salon and depending on the day it can be quite noisy. The set up is normal although at first I was a little thrown by the towels layered on top of the bed and the fact that instead of a velcro type cover situation, you just wrap a towel around yourself. Despite these differences, everything was lush and Marjan knows her stuff. She's been into skincare since '81 and seems to keep pretty current on what is new and what works well for your skin. I really enjoyed my facial and my skin reacted wonderfully. I'll be back to see what else she has to offer. Even though it is a bit more expensive than I'm used to paying I think it's quite worth it for the quality of the time she spends on your skin health. read more

My stylist of many years fell off the face of the earth!! Where oh where did Larry go...Italy?? Yep he took off to Italy and even though I loved him that was just too much of a commute! Well after several years of searching for a new stylist I finally was referred to Duc Duc Salon in Torrance. I nervously sat down in Hui's chair and a few hours later he had miraculously fixed the mess left from other inferior so called colorists! Yes it took a few hours that first visit but he transformed a terrible washed out dye job into fabulous silky smooth hair! That was two years ago and needless to say I am hooked for life! I have never had so many friends and even strangers comment on how beautiful my hair is. In addition to the great style and color, going to the salon is like taking a mini spa retreat. The decor and environment is very relaxing with a wonderfully landscaped patio where you can sit and wait for your color to set. The salon staff are very friendly and they put an emphasis on service. The salon also offers everything from waxing to massages. I love getting my hair done now. Walking into the salon is like visiting with old friends at a high end spa. read more

The little gem in this salon is named Marjan. She does facials, and is amazing. Marjan is my life saver. I have struggled with acne since I was 15. I met Marjan when I was about 18 or 19. By that time I had severe scarring from acne (as seen in my "before" pictures.) I am now 23 with beautiful skin due to Marjan's consistency, guidance, and abundant amount of knowledge of acne and scarring treatments. I can honestly say that when we first met, I was apprehensive, because I had tried EVERYTHING at that point, such as Proactive, prescription topical treatments, anything from the drug store, the list can go on.. But what she said was that she was going to make it all better, and that she would take care of me. Marjan has the sweetest heart. She isn't doing this just to make money, she genuinely wants to help people to feel/ look the best they possibly can. My confidence has grown immensely since my skin has cleared up. She isn't the type of person that will rip you off with fancy treatments. She gives you the right deal for what is needed particularly for your skin. First time here. My stylist, Hau, took hair that was dry and brassy from a previous bad color, toned down the color, and trimmed it to be healthy, sleek and shiny. The cut was not a dramatic change, since I had a good haircut already. Yet, to my surprise, Hau's version of this cut was the best yet! I feel like another person, attractive again. I am extremely hard to please, so if I say he is talented, then believe me. The stylist I had was a man who has worked for this salon for I believe he said 11 years. So I felt confident. When he got through with just a trim I was extremely upset. My hair all over was about 1 inch long. When I got up the next day I went to a wig shop in Lomita and bought a cute wig which I wore for about 2 months. When I came in my hair was about 3-4 inches long. As previously mentioned I only wanted a slight trim. Sorry I cant remember his name but I want this to be posted for future customers. Be sure to ask about the stylist if it is a man. While I was extremely disappointed with this one man, this is in no way a reflection on the other stylists or the salon itself.
