A great indoor play area for children to run freely without having to worry about them getting…read morelost. It's clean, safe and secure - plus well lit. Air conditioning is on full blast which is a necessity especially with all the people and the body heat that's generated here. Food and drink are reasonably priced. Socks are included and aren't too pricey. Several dedicated sections for parties of all sizes. I wouldn't hesitate to consider this place for a birthday party. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Be back soon.

Disappointing experience - not the same as before…read more I visited Candeeland Carlsbad yesterday with my 5-year-old son, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I want to start by saying the front desk attendant was very friendly and welcoming. However, the rest of the staff completely changed the tone of our visit. They were consistently rude and made us feel not welcomed there. I've been there before and had a very different experience, so this was surprising. This time, I was not allowed to sit at the tables with my coffee and reusable water bottle, even though they sell drinks and snacks on-site and I've done this on previous visits. I had no intention of taking anything into the play structures, just sitting at the tables. I also planned to do some light work on my computer while my son played, something I've done there before, but I was told that wasn't allowed either. I was told I had to stay with my son at all times. The way this was communicated was the most frustrating part. The staff came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, not just to me but to other families as well. I ended up speaking with the assistant manager because the situation felt so uncomfortable. As I was leaving, another family actually thanked me for saying something because they were feeling the same way, which says a lot. I had been planning to host my son's birthday party there in June, but after this experience, I will definitely be making other plans. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously, because this place has potential, but the customer experience needs a lot of improvement.

The Playground - Really fun ball pit.!

We love this indoor playground for our 5 year old daughter. It is located in Grossmont Center,…read morewhich makes it super convenient for playtime after running errands or shopping in the area. I really appreciate all the new additions and renovations. We were out of town for about a month and when we came back, so many of the play stations had been updated. It definitely did not go unnoticed and shows they are investing in the space. One thing I love about this place is how often the staff cleans and reorganizes. No matter how busy it gets, it never feels messy. It also never smells like feet in there, which is honestly a big problem at other indoor playgrounds. The staff does a great job maintaining a clean and pleasant environment. The only downside for us is that our daughter is growing out of it a little too fast. She can get bored if there are not other kids her age to play with. This is truly a great spot for younger children. I do wish they offered an hourly rate instead of requiring a full day pass, because sometimes you just need a quick hour or two to let the kids get their wiggles out. Overall, it is a wonderful, well maintained playground and we will continue recommending it to families with younger kids.

The place is always very clean and the staff are constantly sanitizing, especially after a child leaves a station, which we really appreciate. It is a great place to bring our son and very fulfilling in terms of fun, excitement, and play. It is definitely one of our favorite spots. The staff are always kind and respectful, and it never feels overcrowded. There is always just the right amount of kids and parents to enjoy the space comfortably.

We've visited twice. The first time wasn't a great experience because, unbeknownst to us, there was…read morea kids' birthday party taking place. The play area was exceptionally crowded, and my toddler who had just turned 2 at the time had a hard time navigating around the older, bigger kids. The age range felt a little questionable to me. At other play places we frequent, the kids tend to be closer in age, but that wasn't the case here. My son was knocked around a few times by bigger children, and the environment became very overstimulating. We ended up leaving early because of the chaos and my son not able to properly use anything... nearly all of the fruit and vegetable toys from the market area had been scattered throughout the play space, leaving the market and kitchen section where many of the younger kids were gathered mostly empty. Overall, it just didn't feel like the right fit for us. We decided to give Kids and Coffee another try this past Wednesday, thinking it might be a better experience without a birthday party happening... and it was! We paid for two hours, stayed about an hour and a half, and my son had a great time. One thing I really appreciate about Kids and Coffee is that their café is nut and peanut free, which is especially important for families like ours dealing with multiple food allergies. That peace of mind was honestly the main reason I wanted to give the space another chance. We were even considering adding Kids and Coffee into our regular rotation since it's closer to us than some of the other play places we enjoy. Unfortunately, after our visit, my son became extremely sick most likely with norovirus. I completely understand that illnesses can happen anywhere kids gather, and I don't blame the business for that. However, during our entire visit, I didn't see any employees actively present in the play area. Parents, myself included, were gathering and returning the pretend produce to the market area, but none of the toys appeared to be wiped down or sanitized. At other play places, such as Tiny Tiger, there always seems to be staff actively cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day. Because we have been to so many play places now with great experiences and have not come home with an illness from any other we will just be sticking to our regular spots moving forward. I think sanitation still needs a little work at this location or perhaps even someone checking temperatures at the door like other places All in all, we unfortunately won't be returning.

Finally after checking in she said ok...and I said Ok what do I do since I have never been there (with my shoes and belongings) She said "just go in and find a place for your shoes on the right and then try to find a seat" So we go in and the cubby for shoes is completely full and there are shoes everywhere. When we move over to the toddler play area (granddaughter is 2) we are bombarded with over 3yr old kids rough housing. I see a sign on the wall that says 3 and under, parents please assist in this. I had to mention this to at least 5 different older children. 1-I'm not there to supervise other peoples children 2- there should be a limit on how many people are in there..in my opinion it was completely over crowded 3- there should be more supervision on the floor, especially in the toddler section where they are more prone to injury 4- if someone is asked if it's their first time then give some more attention and guidance upon entry Upon leaving I was asked my name and after telling the employee I said " this has not been a good experience " We were there for about 30 minutes when I decided enough was enough. She replied "sorry to hear that, have a good day " Needless to say I don't recommend and will not return!
