The venue also has a wonderful inventory of tables, linens, umbrellas, and other essentials, and Willie made sure everything was set up in a way that worked perfectly for our event. We also really appreciated the flexibility to bring in our own vendors! Bankers Hill Club is truly such a hidden gem in San Diego. Our guests loved the beautiful views and market lights on the patio, and the indoor space was perfect for our DJ and dancing later in the evening. There weren't any corny decorations, just a bunch of balloons that I happily popped at the end of the evening. I thought it was the perfect venue for such an event. That might have been due to the open bar and my 5 hours of drinking. Thanks to that, I was able to scare the ladies with my dance moves, and provide much entertainment for myself. 5 stars for the enormous dance floor. 1 star for the fact you couldn't have a drink out on the floor. 4 stars for the lack of enforcement of the rule. Overall, I'd say that if you have an event that will have 150-200 people, and want a lot of area to roam and socialize, this place is for you. The interior is a a bit too mundane and stale for a wedding reception, but not bad for any other type of large social gathering.

Unlike older reviews, we had no problems with our noise level and had tons of fun dancing the night away until 11pm. We rented the venue until midnight, which was a big sell for us as most venues we looked at required an end time of 10pm. Robbie the house bartender is amazing! He went above and beyond our expectations! (He also rents glassware and linens.) Anthony the grounds-keeper is a sweetheart and helped us out a ton with layout and planning. He was our main point of contact there. Jennifer, the rental manager, was a bit difficult to interact with at times. However, she is very punctual and returned our deposit and any paperwork quickly, which we really appreciated. Prior to our shoot, she made fresh coffee for everyone, showed us where everything is and downloaded the sonos app on our phone so we could jam out and create our photoshoot atmosphere. There is also easy parking right in front of the venue that allows you to unload and keep your vehicle near if plan to arrive early in the day. So, this studio has one gigantic white wall which we used for a big screen as a projector screen, and the two walls attached with ceiling tall/ massive windows. We started the shower in the evening, so we could still enjoy ample of the sunlight and as the party went into the night, we could enjoy the pictures on this gigantic screen. There is a "selfie booth" in one corner, so guests could take selfies and these pictures were hocked to the big screen. They had good quality microphones as well so we enjoyed Karaoke as well! They do a great job disclosing that. This venue is located right off the marina so there's several photo opportunities as well. The parking is ample. This particular hall had a bathroom upstairs and downstairs. There's a full bar area, serving area, and the layout is yours to do with. They provide tables, chairs, but no dance floor because there's wooden floors. If you're considering an even, check them out. They have several halls and rooms to choose from for any of your events.

The receptionist is essentially Wednesday Addams on downers. She has absolutely no personality and is not welcoming at all. I don't know if she and her desk mate went to the same class for blank expressions and terrible customer service, but they provide the absolute bare minimum. Talking to the receptionist on the phone is like pulling teeth without anesthetic. I don't know who hired these people. I don't care if you're miserable because the venue is falling apart and will probably be torn down soon; you still have a job to do. That job is to provide customer service, answer questions, and be polite. She fails in all of those areas.Now for the main event: Roslyn. This woman is the most miserable person I've ever met in my entire life. She is the absolute queen of blank stares, dismissiveness, entitlement, and withholding information. She is a curmudgeon who never has a good day, even when she tries to fake a smile. She was the absolute worst to work with. If we didn't have to hold our specific event here, I would have cussed her out or pulled her over the desk.I don't know if this woman thinks we can read her mind. We don't do her job, so we don't automatically know the required steps for planning an event at this venue. Yet, every single question seems to be a massive problem for her. Every breath she takes seems like a chore. She is one of those people who clearly hates coming to work every day, and she makes sure everyone who crosses her path feels that misery.I have worked with a lot of venues and put together many events. When I say I have never worked with a staff so miserable and incompetent, I mean it. Whoever is doing the hiring probably needs to be fired too, because this attitude is consistent across the board. I have watched them deal with other customers, and they treat everyone with the exact same miserable attitude day in and day out. When you're planning an event almost a year in advance, you have to contact the venue numerous times. You might think they just had a bad day, but no--every single day is a bad day for them.Management needs to do something about this. The way they treat customers is horrendous. I truly hope they meet someone worse than them in their own lives so they can see how frustrating it is to deal with that level of incompetence.Look, I know the venue probably offers a great rate, but you get what you pay for. You are definitely getting a Dollar Tree experience at Marina Village. My advice: keep looking. Do not give your money to a place where you are not appreciated or even acknowledged. It's just ridiculous. I don't even have the words to fully express my frustration with this venue and the two trolls at the front Also in the rooms : Old smelling musty rooms Dirty stained and torn "provided" chairs Several of the attendance to include myself left with FLEA BITES ! Carpet is old and musty and dirty in the rooms that were not previously "Ranch Events" spaces . They upgraded the spaces prior to not resigning the lease apparently . There were 2 entrances, one for VIP and another for regulars and both were easy to navigate. Parking was easy considering that Liberty station can get too crowded and confusing as all looks like the same and it is way bigger than looks like.
