I like the male anatomy as form of art since I saw the David of Michelangelo when studying art history in high school. I draw and paint nude male figures as much as females but don't show them in public usually. That is why I like to see what others paint and their approaches and focus when visiting art galleries. The art showcased at The Studio Door inspired me to do more and bigger. Very cool exhibits and also liked the drawings of various San Diego buildings. I saw artists painting and chatting with the visitors, very pleasant to spend some time when in Hillcrest.

From the many art pieces you will find many feelings that go with the paintings .

Through the many years the world of art has been one of the greatest teaching tools with the many great artists that have created the world of the finest pies and the ones the world looks up to painting of the Mona Lisa and the Sistine Chape, and the statue of David. Art is one of the greatest gifts that so many hide with the many great pieces that are on display and the many that are displayed at the Museum of Art at Balboa Park Museums. With the many historical areas of Hillcrest San Diego, you can find those places which are connected with the many areas such as the many connections to those places which made San Diego and the years times were tough to get places open to the public. In the world of art, you will see the many pieces which show cases the many formats and the personal artists dreams and the way art looks and is realized. From the galleries of La Jolla many shows case the many areas of the ocean and the SeaLife and the pristine beaches of the Calif Coast. Studio Door is one place is place that can be described as the one place you could see what the artist was painting and the feel of the painting that gives you the emotion of the piece by the brushstrokes or mixed media of the paints or airbrushes. To see many locations that were of the Balboa Park the way it looks at night done in a painting the look of it was just like silk screen. Artists come from all walks of life different creeds and nationalities to find great artwork is to see what the artist was painting and the feel of the portrait or the large canvas. The history of the Hilcrest area has welcomed the great artists with many areas around the location you will find many other art pieces and the spirit of art that you find many historical pieces in the Adams Ave area of San Diego. Going to the Gallery was one place that has its own type of flair and the passion of art the use of many colors and creeds and the medias that are used we are all created equal. Meeting the Gallery Owner, he was happy enough to show me about the gallery talking about the many artists reside there. There was one piece that caught my eye was one Patric Stillman told me he did one picture for everyday of his life there were that did show great talent. The Studio Door has some of the best talent and the many artists that do art there you can see many that work on pieces with the medias they work from, and the feelings of the artists may have in the many pieces. There is one artist that has done art for many years his pieces were of the facial and the feeling of the face and the art of horse's. My hat goes off to the many artists that work and paint at the Stage Door to show art unto the world the many great pieces to let your light so shine before darkened world. For this being LGBTQ there is so much than many people think that there are so many very impressive artists art is like music to let it flow out and let your art be seen before the world when you have so m any great talents is to share them with the world and others. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer my afternoon at the Studio door was one of the best to see a gallery the many artists and the feel of the art in a studio like many other artists you would find not in a studio but in the general public. To the many artists and the painters at the Studio Door it has been one of the best shows of art.

I gladly paid asking price and would have never thought to ask for a "better price". I have since added her Aluminums, Steel Rounds, and Framed Reprints. Her art is breath-taking. She pours her heart, soul, mind, imagination and then finally her talent as a LIFE LONG Passion (& Wayne State MFA Educated Artist) -to bring an image to canvas. Art isn't for everyone & Mee's Gallery is free admission to view her heart, soul, and lifelong passion. She's been in same location for 13+ years. Not many businesses- who make millions, and millions more- can even say that - especially on India Street. Please don't ask for discounts when she spends at times months on a piece or you don't understand the background details to create such an image. Don't ask for pricing favors- like no tax- Mee Shim has to pay it on sales & so should you as buyer. And lastly- don't be rude, loud, obnoxious, disregarding her posting for "No Photos". Again this is her heart and soul- and she is an open, free Gallery for people to admire and perhaps grow with seeing her works. If you Love her Art- Tell Her, and Purchase an Original. If you don't connect, the open door you came thru is still open to leave thru. Be KIND- It will be better Karma than some Negative One Star Review you provide- and most important remember- The entire experience is Zero COST to you whether you loved it or otherwise. Her Gallery is a welcomed break from the hustle of restaurants, and Her Passion and Enthusiasm surround the visitor. Please visit- you'll be glad you did.

One of the owners, Diane, was very pleasant and friendly in nature. One could tell she has a beautiful soul. My friend is a joker but loved and appreciated the quality of the work and had last been there about 5 years ago but remembered the excitement and pleasant experience at the store. It was a pleasant experience to enjoy my first time here with my friend and Diane. As I walked around the store I instantly fell in love with a small pair of green and blue glass earrings. I knew I wanted something to buy as a memorabilia. I must say of all of the pieces of jewelry that I own and as expensive as mine are, that these earrings are my favorite!!! They were inexpensive but so beautiful, caught the light in a way that was absolutely stunning on my complexion. Love them and have worn them every day since. As I was going to pay for my earrings my friend took notice of a beautiful peacock that was blue, green and had streaks of gold. When asked if I liked it of course I did who doesn't like peacocks, it was gorgeous. To my surprise, My friend bought me the small Peacock and my earrings!!! Of all the gifts that I have these are my prize possessions. They're absolutely beautiful, well made and made with love. I knew this shop was special and I can see that it's because of the integrity and craftsmanship that goes into each piece. Diane is a blessing and I wish nothing but good health, success and happiness for her and her family. I can't wait to bring my out of town family here!!! There's only a few places that I frequent and this will be one of them when I'm in the area to appreciate the art and buy something and the other is the seashell shop in Morro Bay, CA.

I wanted to bring a piece of beautiful San Diego home with me. We met with Diane and talked about what I was looking for and she offered so many wonderful ideas. We went home and I took all types of pictures of our home and sent them to Diane so that she could get a feel for who we were and how we liked to live our lives. After emails and all my silly questions, (Diane is very patient) we had her create two (2) fluted pendants to hang in our kitchen over our island and she created a inverted fluted bowl to hang over our dinette table. They are amazing. Words can not describe how beautiful they are. The colors are so rich and lush. We love them and every time I look at them I think of San Diego. Diane you are very sweet. Thank you for the beautiful pieces you created for us. We will be back very soon to San Diego Diane and we will be in to visit....I'm thinking centerpiece for dining room table now. I highly recommend everyone when you visit San Diego stop by Lowry's Hot Glass and be amazed.

I will start with the art. They had a few artists displayed but mostly had the work of Grant Pecoff (given that it is his gallery). They also had some very moving pieces from Stephanie Clair, the expression that she created with her cubism style and simplistic faces was very apparent and warm. Then I noticed Grant work and immediately recognized it. One of my friends has a piece of his I have always loved, it is of about 10 narrow homes above a reflective river in Amsterdam, the colors used and the reflection created are so unique and awesome. I love his art and hope to one day own a few of his pieces as they would compliment any room. He also has many San Diego paintings, including one of the Coronado bridge...which elicits a very interesting story of how he met his wife Layne. She had seen this painting for the first time a week before her parents came into town. When she was showing them around Del Mar she remembered it and brought them over to the window to check it out as she went on and on about how much she loved it. A guy was also looking at it from outside of the window and let her know there was a marching band on the side of the beach that day, that man was Grant Pecoff and only 5 weeks after that moment, they went on a trip to Europe together and had gotten married. Layne is full of happiness and it radiates to you when talking with her. She provides such a warm and comfortable aura and will leave you in positive thought after conversing with her. She writes the children's books with Grant's art next to the words, I have read through some of them and would recommend to any parent who hopes for an active imagination for their young one. The art and words dance and mingle in a lively fashion that stirs even an adult mind. If you are in the Little Italy area and you are look for an uplifting gift for your eyes and mind, please oh please, come on in and surround yourself with beauty.
