SD Made -- and the incredible women behind this space -- THANK YOU for all you do. I love a…read moremulti‑purpose, women‑owned space that genuinely cares about the community and provides real resources and support for local creatives. This place does all of that and more. I first discovered SD Made when I booked a scent‑making session with an artist who had her storefront/studio inside the warehouse. I was instantly intrigued and wanted to learn more. That's when I found out they host events, offer coworking spaces, conference rooms, podcast rooms, and rentable studios for artists and creatives of all kinds. I knew immediately this was the perfect coworking space for me as I stepped into my next career chapter. Their pricing is reasonable, the amenities are great, and the people are cool, like‑minded, and welcoming. It's a laid‑back coworking environment -- something surprisingly hard to find in San Diego. Even though I no longer rent a coworking space, I stay connected through their local events and by supporting the artists and creatives who work there. I now come here to buy ceramics, candles, scents, and other beautiful goods. Whether you're a community member looking for fun, free local events, an artist searching for a studio, someone needing a coworking space, or a person wanting to host an event -- this space is amazing. Come be part of the fun.

We were able to have a food truck serving food on one side of the building. The only downside is that it ended up being pretty cold since the space doesn't have any heating.

Of course I called and asked did they do a day pass. I receive a call back within 10 mins and was able to walk in and purchase my pass. Love this place so much & Nikki was awesome. - Coffee for all! Thats right even if you are not a member you can grab some coffee and tea - Leftover snacks available to all (members have access to the member only fridge) but there were snacks available from an event had which was great! - Private telephone rooms for conference calls - Awesome rooftop - THE BEST DECOR! I definitely will be looking into a membership at Expansive Phoenix

I booked an office for the day since I needed to speak during a video call, and that worked out perfectly. Nikki the manager was nice, showing me the kitchen area and answered all my questions (also buzzed me back into the office from outside the building very quickly). I loved the rooftop where I enjoyed my lunch from a great nearby Thai place (Thai Island, excellent pad thai). They also offer a day pass for the communal area, with telephone booth access for quick meetings. I'd definitely come back here if I'm in town and need a reliable workplace again.

It's an art gallery, but also a venue that can be rented out for a space to do several events. I…read morewent after hours for a indie film thingy, I would say it was very unorganized, they said door opening at 6 PM, but they let people wait in line to get photographer took pictures for marketing purposes. The catering company also there to serve people food, but then they made people buy their own stuffs and put all the free food away for themselves, we never heard of the food again. Show started at 7:30 PM, they just made people hanging out in the lobby, only a certain amount, the rest still have to wait outside in the cold, no food were served what so ever, the catering company put out the food, then the organizer boxed them and promised it will be ready for everyone after the show. Then the problem with seatings, they really don't know how to seat people, so they randomly picked people and put them to whatever seats available, then everyone else had to stand in the back the entire time. Finally the technical issue, sound and video went out of sync, camera and microphone didn't work half of the time. I understand this is low budget indie blah blah blah, but you really wasted everyone time, and you didn't get your act together. You should have done sound check and rehearsed. By the time they couldn't figure out how to fix the problem, they just let the rest of the show went on, then apologized. There was no free food, and if you wanted to buy food, the catering truck also gone. Really Bread & Salt, you need to allow more quality events to be in your venue. Please!

That said I gotta give the artists, staff, and organization of most of these events a "could be better"/2 stars as they are frequently rude -- one made a mean comment about me being a man, the art exhibits are often not very well curated, and overall the "experiences" and entrance/logistics are often very unclear, clunky, prone to oversights, and unorganized. I see from other reviews (Gary's) that this is not an infrequent occurrence. Still, I think this space is great, and depending on who organizes the event, it can be fun, but it's totally hit or miss.
