While observing the employee operating the spinning jump attraction, I personally saw him appear to nod off or fall asleep while leaning against the inflatable approximately five times. He was responsible for operating the attraction at the time. I cannot determine the cause of this behavior and am not alleging impairment or a medical condition. My concern is that he appeared to fall asleep repeatedly while operating moving recreational equipment used by children. I immediately reported this to the woman at the front counter, who identified herself as the highest-ranking manager or supervisor on site. She gave the employee a break but questioned whether he had actually been falling asleep and stated that there was no safety-related concern, noting that he had "been here the longest." I explained that I had personally observed this multiple times. I then requested management contact information and the names of both employees so I could accurately document the incident. She declined to provide either name, stating that employees were not required to provide their names to customers. Please have ownership or senior management investigate this incident. The employees should be identifiable through the work schedule and attraction assignment for August 29. If surveillance covers the spinning jump attraction, please preserve and review relevant footage from before and after my report. My concern is the safe operation of the attraction. Employees operating recreational equipment should remain attentive while children are using it, and reports of an employee appearing to fall asleep should be documented and investigated promptly. I will say that the prices are very reasonable. $25 buys you two hours of playtime. Grip socks are extra, food is extra, some of the games are extra. And the area itself is impressively clean, especially considering the number of young children traipsing about. On the negative side of things, however, the list is a bit longer. First, there's not a ton to do. Candeeland has limited space to work with and much of it is taken up by sitting areas for parents. The empty space could easily house 2-3 more small activities without sacrificing any existing areas. Still, what activities they do have are pretty intricate, with the multilevel play area having a nice array of padded areas for children to crawl through and a toddler area with nice pneumatic tube setup to delight the young. Next, even though the place is less than a year old, there's already some breakage of some of the area. There's a floor made up of touch screens that displays numerous games for kids to step on a play with. However, it's apparent that some larger kids have smacked a number of screens, causing them to go out or flicker. Which leads to my biggest issue. There are not that many people working here. This means that there are usually people minding the gate and checking if your kid is leaving with the right person. But, there aren't enough people on the floor to ensure safety or police older kids from doing things they shouldn't be doing. Candeeland really is a place that caters to those between 3-8 years of age. Older kids either don't fit on some of the slides or play a bit too rough with the environment. More than once, a screaming 12 year old almost barreled over my kid, knocked her off a slide, or hit her with one of the nerf axes. Sure, they balk when you glare at them. But, they just go back to screaming and thrashing about while their parents sleep oblivious in the corner. So, does my seven year old like Candeeland? Yes, she loved it and wants to come back. They recommended we go with the 5, and the day of, pay the remaining balance 15 minutes before the party ends - outside food allowed, no additional cost - they provide you a rolling cart to transfer your items - no burners except a flame to light the candle - you bring your own cooler(s), only frozen icepacks allowed, no loose ice - adults were no cost - waivers needed to be signed for all. Sometimes the playcity site if it doesn't specify location, you would end up signing the Chula Vista location's. And then you would be asked to sign it again as they look you up by number. - everyone needs grip socks, also available for purchase - $10 per kid after party is done if guests wanted to stay longer Our son loved the bouncy areas, ball pit, and colorful slides. Area was very big, clean, and well ventilated. I liked how they had a toddler area (under 4 I believe) and an infant area. If over 4, older kids can supervise but can't go down the slide on their own as it's meant for the younger kids. Two bathrooms were available. 2 Small-Medium size party sitting area and 1 giant area. Facility was more designed for kiddos under 13. If you have older kids, the ninja factory next door would likely be more of their interest! Cost wise, Play City Vista fit our budget in comparison to others like Kids Empire, Funbox, and Airtrack : we had 21 kids and around 20ish adults. *You would need to remember to bring your snacks, drinks, food, utensils, cutting cake knife, and small flame for lighting the candles. While we were there, we saw a lot of signs saying that there's a Friday night event for the summer. Every Friday night between 5 and 9 PM they have food and music and events in this park. I think it's really great for the community members who live here.

The 2nd Annual 80s Rewind Music Festival hosted by Cota Vera in Chula Vista, CA was AWESOME!!…read more The event was FREE and had tribute bands: Talking Threads-Tribute to Talking Heads; L.A. vation-Tribute to U2; Strangelove-Tribute to Depeche Mode. The festival had food truck vendors, radio stations Magic 92.5 and 91X giving away goodies. DJ Hurricane Andrew played a lot of great 80s music. They also had a Beer & Wine garden and 80s arcades for the kids. People were able to bring their beach chairs and enjoy the live music. The new park at Cota Vera had a beautiful kids playground and event entertained adults and kids. This was one of the best events I've been in a while and look forward to next year's festival.
