Pork Fried Rice - great portion size!
Stacie D.

I tried this place on a whim one day because I happened to be in the Safeway parking lot. I saw a review that said something about really good pork fried rice so even though that's not what I was craving, I gave it a go. I'm glad I did. It's honestly my favorite pork fried rice. There is a lot of meat in that rice and different types too. Prices are reasonable and the people are very nice. Bonus, I love that they have ice cold Pepsi in a can!!! This is my second time and I'll definitrbe back.

This is probably the best place to go in SE Denver for vegan Chinese food. I've never seen a Chinese restaurant that offered meat substitutes for chicken and beef and not just tofu. I had the "chicken" and mixed vegetables and it was fantastic. The "chicken" tasted a bit like seitan but had a unique flavor of its own. At $10.95 I'd say it's a little pricey when compared to most Chinese takeout places but it's worth it for the uniqueness and they still have me about 2 meals worth of food. The restaurant was pretty standard for Chinese takeout but it did look very clean and well maintained. I didn't have to wait at all for my food to come out when I arrived at the counter either. I really appreciate that they give it to you in a cardboard box instead of a plastic bag. Much more sustainable and easier to carry. All in all, a very good experience and I will likely eat here again.

This is their definition of "No Pepper, No Spice."

As fans of Joy Asian for several years now, my family and I have been repeated customers. I love their BBQ Spare Ribs, as the taste is similar to the Cantonese BBQ Pork (Cha Siu). My mom loves their Chow Fun (stir fry rice noodles) that closely resembles the homemade Hokkien style my great-grandmother used to make and the HK Chow Mein that kinda resembles the drier HK version in Dim Sum restaurants. After catching Covid-19 for the 2nd time, we're grateful for them to remain open through our severely ill and disheartening days. They made her feel almost as if her grandmother is still around, or maybe she guided her to this special chef to show that she's still watching over her. Since the 2nd time we caught Covid and became long haulers this time around, my mom's stomach ulcer and other medical conditions worsened as a result of Covid complications, and she needs more substantial noodles for her ultra painful condition. So I order the HK Chow Mein with extra egg noodles and no black pepper because her stomach can no longer take anything spicy at all. The last few times it came with no black pepper as requested. We've ordered it soo many times that they pretty much know exactly what I was going to say before I tell them. However, despite me saying repeatedly over the phone for "With NO black pepper, NO spicy at all," it came WITH black pepper. My mom ate only 2 small bites and her stomach burned within less than 2 minutes afterwards. I called back and asked for an exchange for another one with no pepper, explaining repeatedly over the phone. They refused to admit any mistake on their part by insisting it had no pepper. I pointed out that my mom's intensely burning stomach and the black dots in the noodles are black peppers. They still refused to admit anything and refused to exchange it. Then the lady handed the phone to "a man with authority" (Owner? Manager?). He escalated his voice at my mom, blatantly GASLIGHTED her by pretending to have misunderstood the "No pepper, no spice" request. Again, she tried to explain her stomach ulcer issue and how she does not want to end up back in the ER for a 3rd time. He then yelled at her, "if you want exchange, you bring it back, we have no driver." But with chronic wound on her feet that recently flared up again and Covid-induced nausea and severe vertigo, she can't stand over the stove to cook, which is why she absolutely needed that egg noodles in the first place. As she was starting to explain why she can't drive in her condition and if she does end up in the ER again, who will be responsible for another ER medical bill? Before she could finish her sentence, the man immediately cut her off, absolutely refused to admit any mistake by yelling at her again, "THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM. I DON'T CARE!" And he hung up on her. This level of professional misconduct and lack of compassion and integrity is uncalled for and a deal breaker based on our traditional Asian values. My grandpa was a Chinese chef for decades and my mom used to bus tables at East Cafe during her teen years. So we are well versed in Chinese restaurant operations and uphold the utmost respect, understanding, and patience with any restaurant staff, including non-Asian restaurants. But to yell at a Covid long haul patient or other fellow humans when we are severely ill at home is beyond disheartening. How unfortunate that we must end this many-years-long fanship and loyal support, as they have lost 2 loyal fans permanently.

Tofu in Garlic Sauce - good flavor!
Kristi M.

Was a bit nervous to try due to the very mixed reviews but I'm sooooo glad I did. I ordered from the yelp app and my food showed up at my door exactly 15 minutes later! We ordered tofu in garlic sauce, vegetarian sesame chicken, vegetable fried rice, and vegetable lo mein. We absolutely loved everything we got. They even threw in a free box of sugar donuts! Tofu in Garlic Sauce: tangy and flavorful with a perfect amount of sauce. Contained tofu, onions, peppers, baby corn, bamboo shoots, and bean sprouts. I ordered it with medium heat, I'd amp up to spicy next time Vegetarian Sesame Chicken: SOOOOO GOOOODDDD. I haven't had real chicken in a few years and I really missed orange chicken / sesame chicken type Chinese food. I'm so stoked to have found this dish. Extremely good. Vegetable Fried Rice: your typical veggie fried rice. Not superb but I will order it again. Vegetable Lo Mein: 10/10 will order again. Nice amount of flavor & a good ratio of veggies to noodles. My only complaint would be that I asked in the comments for sweet & sour sauce but there was none. Not sure if they even carry it but that would have been good to know. Overall, I will be ordering from here again!

Vietnamese Egg Roll

Ordered some Vietnamese egg rolls and received them burnt, called and was told that that's how they are made.

I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and a small rare steak pho, the spring rolls were not very good I think the cilantro was too dominant, and overpriced (every other Thai/viet restaurant I've been to in Aurora has been about $1-2 cheaper). The pho was good though and the small portion is well sized in my opinion and a great deal. I was served by an older gentleman and a younger lady; I'm not sure if something was lost in translation between me and the man but he was pretty loud with me and very dismissive when I asked for the WiFi (he just said no WiFi although they had one, maybe employees only I really don't know). He didn't speak to me much and wouldn't reply after I'd thank him for serving me the food or filling waters, and I noticed he was a lot friendlier to the other guests. He also was staring at me a lot as I'd eat which made me uncomfortable. It's possible I'm overthinking it but I honestly felt like I gave a lot of opportunities to kind of establish a little bit friendlier conversation and he just wasn't with it. I started to think that maybe he was worried I'd dine and dash since I came alone and whatever else he gathered from my appearance. It made me uneasy enough that I asked to pay before I finished eating because again I assumed that must have been why I was getting that kind of treatment. Regardless, I definitely won't come back. There's better pho out there and definitely places in the same genre of eating with a much better ambience.

There's a full bar, which I recommend you take advantage of. Pricing is pretty standard, about $15-$20 for an entree. I ordered the green curry with beef. It was delicious! My roommate ordered spring rolls and a Thai tea with boba. Her spring rolls fell apart, tasted mid, and the sauce didn't save it. Her drink also didn't hit; she didn't end up finishing it. I'm pretty torn about whether or not I want to return. If I did, it's because the staff were actually super nice and I'd wanna support nice people. Just might not order a spring roll or Thai tea next time

Was helped by who I assume was the matriarch of the cafe. I ordered their number 1 black bean sauce noodles with pork, Jajangmyeon. My friend had mentioned that they make their noodles in-house and after my first bite, I had no reason to doubt their claim. A giant bowl of springy chewy noodles, topped with black bean sauce, with fried onions and tender hand-cut pork. It came with a side of kimchi, pickled radish, dice raw onion and extra black bean sauce. The main standout was the texture of the noodles. The kimchi was so crunchy and fresh, the picked radish also crunchy with a nice vinegar and not salty bite. I feel very confident in my chopstick skills, but picking these noodles up were a challenge, which is why I assume they also left a pair of kitchen shears when they delivered the noodles. Chewy, springy, bouncy. Not overcooked at all, because trying to lift out a portion to chow down on, the noodles would not break and you get had to get my face into the bowl and keep slurping until I got to the end of those noodles before I could come up for air. Ended up getting an order to go, the Lajogi or fried chicken with hot sauce. The recommendation seemed to be their sweet and sour pork, but it sounded too much like Chinese-American food. It was fried with onions, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, green peppers, jalepenos, cabbage and dried chilis in a garlicy and mildly spicy sauce. I'm not familiar with this dish, but maybe it's a Chinese-Korean dish? Not overloaded with sugar and vinegar that an Chinese-American dish would have, but still comforting. Also came with additional rice, picked radish and extra black bean sauce. You can taste the love in this place and just looking at the sliced radish they serve you, it has got to be cured and sliced in house. Imperfectly perfect slices of radish that provide a nice refreshing crunch and break from the richness of the dishes. My first time here and excited to revisit and try their other offerings. Hit up H Mart after to pick up some groceries.

We have eaten at Hiro's and King Buffet before and we really liked King's because they are newer, cleaner and had many more selections of food. The first thing we noticed about Hibachi Grill is that the most of their customers are Hispanic population and I think I was probably the only Asian customers there. Their selection of food is very small and quality of food was not very good. I was very excited to see some fresh cooked orange chicken but it was mostly breading and very little chicken. Their sushi fish had dull color like it had been frozen, thawed out then frozen again then thawed out. I am not asking the very best quality fish from a cheap buffet, but the sushi fish from this place was not very appetizing looking. We have few other buffets available in Aurora, this place can't compete with other places and they seem like they don't even try to. Go to other places I've named if you crave cheap Asian buffet.
