Last, but not least, I needed 2 and half pound dumbbells. They had pink and black. I went with the pink color. That's all I needed from this store yesterday. Anyway, my eyes scoured their wall of shoes while a salesman named Jonathan politely asked about my Journey's purchase. He asked the size and I told him, "Size 11." He said, "That's not right. We're a British-based company, so we size you down. Those won't be as comfortable in the long run. Can I show you a pair for you to try on?" So, I did. I tried on his recommended boots and they fit like a glove. He ran me through the history of the company, the leather they use, different types of shoes, and how to style them! I was floored by his confidence and knowledge. Because of his work ethic and helpful advice, I had no problem paying retail price for these boots and returning my discounted boots at Journey's. This nightmare happened to me at the Sherman Oaks, Galleria Windsor store…read more After calling several times and waiting for a call back, I finally decided to drive to the store myself--which is two hours away--to try to find an item that the system showed as in stock. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I had a very unpleasant experience. Before going to the store, I had read several online reviews mentioning issues with the manager and the customer service at this location. Once I arrived, I realized the reviews were completely accurate. The manager was extremely rude, condescending, and seemed to have a very unprofessional attitude. I was the first customer at the door when the store opened. I walked around and went to look at the sale rack. The pricing on the rack was very misleading, so I asked the manager for clarification. I asked whether the price shown applied to all items on the rack or only to the prices written in red pen on the tags. She responded in a very rude and condescending tone, saying, "Ma'am, the prices are noted on the rack," without making any effort to clarify. I ignored her attitude and continued shopping. I then went to another sale section where a sign clearly showed that the shoes in that area were marked at s. I asked a sales associate if the price applied to the shoes I had chosen, and he confirmed that it did. I selected two pairs and proceeded to the register to pay for all my items. When I went to pay, the shoes rang up at full price. I explained that there was a sale sticker on the shoes showing a specific discounted price. The manager responded by saying, "Sometimes customers change the prices and it's not our fault." I told her that I understood that mistakes can happen, but as store management it is her responsibility to ensure that inventory and pricing on the sales floor are correct. I also explained that as a customer, it is not fair for me to be misled by incorrect pricing after spending nearly 30 minutes selecting and trying on the shoes, only to be told at the register that the price was different. Instead of trying to help or look into the issue, she continued to speak to me in a rude and dismissive manner. Her attitude was extremely unprofessional, condescending, and completely lacking in basic customer service. I genuinely do not understand how someone with her behavior was chosen to manage a store. As the reviews on Yelp and other platforms clearly show, I am not the only customer who has experienced this type of treatment at this location. There are many similar complaints describing the exact same issues with the manager and the poor service provided.
