While browsing in the kids' section, I noticed a woman, who later identified herself as the manager, following me around the store. After I moved to the back, she sat down and continued watching me for about 10 minutes while I shopped. I eventually approached her and asked if she was following or watching me. She said no. I then asked if she was the manager, and she confirmed that she was. When I asked for her name, she refused to provide it and told me I didn't need to know. As a Black college graduate, an English teacher, and a mother of three, I found this experience extremely upsetting and disrespectful. I was treated as if I were doing something wrong when I was simply shopping for my family. No customer should feel singled out or profiled in this way. I completed my purchase and left, but the entire situation left a lasting negative impression. I hope this location takes this seriously and addresses how customers are treated moving forward.

I was able to tell Sheryl my needs , what my problem with my current shoes (average lower tier brand running shoes) and how I keep having or needing sports message or chiropractic adjustment on my lower back. She asked me to take off my shoes , measured my foot (width , height and arch support needed) , asked me to walk up and down the store and she immediately knew what kind of shoe would be best for me. She went to the back of the store and came back about 5 min later with 3 choices of shoes. She had me try on the first , walk in it and then try the next pair. After using the Brooks shoes on my first run it felt immediately different. No longer were my feet killing me getting off the treadmill or my feet and legs feeling just used up and sore the next day. The service was great too because someone came up and helped us find the right size shoes, gave their own opinion on what shoes they preferred/the pros and cons of each, and they even explained their membership program to us. We actually ended up signing up for the program because it's a one-time $30 fee to shop in their member-only section of the store where they sell returned items for less than market price with a bunch of extra benefits. And, you actually get back the $30 you paid for the membership in the form of a store gift card. So, for example we actually got a pair of men's Hokas for $52, and now we have an extra $30 gift card we can go back to use in the store before it expires in the next month. The member-only returned section has a bunch of things from clothes to shoes to hats, etc., so just for that I think it's worth it.
