I have a 50 yr old three floor condo that has (most likely) never had the ducts cleaned out. mold was blowing out my vents after a new AC install and that's why I called them. They protected all the areas of my home and got to work- they vacuumed, brushed and sanitized all my ducts many times over- the amount of mold in my ducts was DISTURBING (to say the least!). It took several hours to get every duct cleaned out but they did all the work and left my condo very clean and smelling great when they were finished. I'm sure the amount of nastiness in my ducts are in the top five of worst they ever seen! I will be bringing them back in a year for a follow up clean. The air in my condo already is crisper And the musty smell in my home is gone. So glad I had them come out and they were incredibly friendly and honest as well. UPDATE: It took a while to reach the right person to have everything remedied, but once we did,…read morethey went above and beyond to make things right. The ceiling was fixed (at no cost to us) and, thankfully, the drywall hadn't been damaged, so it wasn't as extensive as we had feared. A week after the work was done, our coil kept freezing and the AC stopped working and basically, it was missed in the initial visit that we needed a full cleaning on the coil, not just the spray. If it had been caught initially, we would have had to pay the usual cost to have it cleaned, however, since it was missed and was giving us so many issues, they sent someone to clean it at no cost. (Side note: George was awesome!) They also confirmed that the ducts were cleaned well and the debris we saw had just been dislodged and gotten caught in the vents once everything was up and running again. A lot of our frustration could have been eased through better communication, but we are very grateful for everything Michael did and took action to fix the issues we had. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Our appointment was 8-10 AM. They didn't arrive until after 2 PM, and only after we called them at noon to find out they'd changed it without telling us. We paid close to $4,000 for a furnace and air duct cleaning and a UV light. They cleaned the blower and were supposed to also spray clean the coil. As they were leaving, I took a look and saw that the coil was still really bad and I chased after them and they admitted they hadn't sprayed it. The "cleaned" vents still had debris inside. To make it worse, they broke part of our ceiling, patched it with caulk, and said nothing. I only found out because they left a caulk behind in the bathroom. My wife baked them cookies. We treated them with kindness. We got dishonesty and a half-done job in return. We sent a detailed complaint with videos and photos. We never got a response.

The fan on my outside unit stopped blowing and after failing to diagnose the problem myself, I called Nicks. Great customer service upfront and I got the incredible Chris to come out and help. Turns out the contractor failed and Chris, being his amazing self, showed me what was wrong, how he figured it out, and more. I honestly cannot recommend Nicks enough. They're honest, kind, and fast, and will continue to be my AC go-to's.

Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

Just to give you some context of the work Ted did, he moved the dryer out of the way, vacuumed and cleaned the duct from inside and then vacuumed and cleaned the dryer pipe from the outside, a lot of work for a fair price.
