Eggs Benedict is on the breakfast menu but should not be on the menu at all. Don't put something on the menu that you don't know how to make. It is supposed to come with Canadian Bacon... I don't remember what they substitute it with. And the sauce is not right either. It's bland. I can't seem to find real Eggs Benedict in SC. read more

I was honestly skeptical about the name, so we drove on by the first few months. Once we tried the food, we were hooked. It's southern dishes at their best! Have the chicken cutlet with gravy and a side of Lima beans. 4 stars only because it's my first visit. The old Dickies building has sure upgraded. We beat the church crowd at 11:30 on Sunday. Wife loves meat and 3 and this was right down her alley. The waitress keeps trying to get me to try the pork cutlet and I know she's right, but man, the chicken is phenomenal. One of these days I'll find the strength to deny myself and try that cutlet. On a rainy Monday, I decided to check out Josey's Chuckwagon, thru the drive-thru. I ordered the country style steak, mashed red-skinned potatoes, and broccoli casserole. It came with a yeast roll and sweet tea. The drive thru attendant was extremely friendly and polite. The food arrived quickly and it was hot! I drove another 20 minutes to my home, and couldn't wait to try this dinner. It was still quite warm, and the food was amazing! Everything tasted homemade. I'll definitely be returning to dine inside. Only suggestion...get a larger awning over the drive thru window. The inside of my car got soaked while I collected my dinner. read more

I cannot explain why this place has business. I have three kids, and the drive through and location are convenient for me. On another positive note, the people at the window are polite. This is why I have tried it 3 times, despite horrible food each time. The first time I got quite a bit of food. All I can remember was the Mac and cheese was a watery mess. Second time I ordered my husband a salad. It was ridiculous, a bunch of iceberg lettuce with a couple of chunks of over cooked chicken and a sprinkle of tomatoes. That was it. Then last night I was hungry, so I thought I would give it one more try. Ordered 3 rolls and chicken wings. Sat in drive through for 10 minutes, watching the staff through the drive through eat and drink and talk. Finally my food is done. I reach in to pass my son a roll and it's ice cold. I get my money back for the rolls and go home and try the wings. Wings are ok, nothing special, but the blue cheese is hot! Not warm like they were in with wings, but hot like it had been sitting on a hot line all day. I know this is partially my fault, I should never have returned after first experience, but I have learned my lesson and will never give them my business again! read more

Just visiting relatives and thought we would give this restuarant a try. We love country cooking so we were excited to go there. First thing I noticed was a full parking lot, then a full dinning room. A sign " wait to be seated" greeted us and we walked in the door. A waitress let us know it might be a while. They were sorry for the wait. I then noticed lots of people who didn't have food and we're waiting for their orders. Well, we ordered and 30 minutes later our food arrived. It was great food for sure. We were satisfied with all our food (too much too list). The food was very affordable and quality great. The wait staff was good also. The only down side was the wait. They were short staffed today I guess. I think the owners need to hire a few more people and get customers in and out faster. The wait staff was running around as fast as they could so I hate to come down on them at all. Next time we will allow more time to have dinner. Hopefully the powers to be will hire more people. read more

While staying in Duncan, SC I didn't want to go to any of the chain restaraunts near my hotel, so I decided to make a drive (about 25 min) over to the Wade Hampton Blvd area which was more populated. I found Josey's here on Yelp and it was near where I was shopping. I got there around 7:30pm and almost thought that I wasn't going to find a parking spot. Once I got parked, I went in and was greeted and taken to a table promptly. I sat there a few minutes before my waitress came over, but she was very friendly and was eager to serve, even though it seemed very busy. I ordered my ham dinner with 2 sides and had to wait about 15 minutes. I was alone, so it probably seemed longer than it really was. The food was good southern cooking, very enjoyable. I was looking forward to a fruit cobbler and was disappointed when I was informed that it was Pecan cobbler that night. I was not even aware of such a thing, pecans aren't fruit! I left without dessert. The prices were very reasonable, my meat and 2 was less than $10! Interesting sort of place to have a drive thru in, but I guess they make that work too. read more

My family and I use to eat here 3 to 4 times a week sometimes more. Originally we fell in love with the place because they were the closest meat and three to us, okay food, and prices were average. My Mother and I cannot eat large portions and this place allowed you to order off the kids menu. My family once owned and operated a small café in Indiana and we love to support small local business instead of chains because we know how it is especially once starting out as a new restaurant owner. At the beginning when they first opened up there was some issues but being new we over looked those issues because we knew they were new and figured they were working out the kinks. As time has gone by we have seen the true colors of Joseys. We have been there and seen customers that are there with their family eating dinner actually get up and start serving tables because they are understaffed and the staff that was there could not keep up with the amount of people being seated. Every time I get the kids chicken tenders it is a different amount. I have received anywhere from 2 to 6 tenders. Not consistent at all. At least once a week sometimes more the order comes out wrong. The hostess/ cashier seems to be bothered that she has to seat you and when you go to pay never can run the register correctly. The straw that broke the camel's back is when my family and I went there for dinner and after we sat down by the rude host/ cashier was greeted by our server. After receiving our drinks like we always do we went to order like we have since they have opened and was informed we could not order like we have in the past. Tried speaking to the owner about what happened and he was rude and very unprofessional. I have given this place multiple chances and no more. I would not recommend this place to anyone if you want your money well spent I would suggest a different restaurant besides Joseys. read more

Absolutely LOVE Josey's!! Moved to the Greer area a few months ago and probably hit up Josey's 3-4 times a month (would go everyday if my conscience would allow). The food is always delicious and you get more than your money's worth (which they are very reasonably priced as well. You can get 2 overflowing meals and drinks for less than $20)! Have tried several dishes... chicken & dumplings (only available as a special), vegetable stew, the chuckwagon, fried chicken cutlet, hamburger steak, fried okra, peach cobbler, mashed potatoes... ALL above and beyond! So glad to have found Josey's. read more

This place isn't worth going to based off my experience. First of all they left us waiting at the front with a sign saying wait to be seated only for the girl to come over and be like "You can sit wherever you want." Gee thanks after I've been standing here for 5 minutes! Sit down and wait close to 10 minutes for the waitress to come over and take our drink orders which she doesn't bring back for another 10 or more minutes. She then tries to walk off and my husband tells her we would like to go ahead and order as we've had more than enough time to decide. She acted like that annoyed her but took the order. We got here around 3:15 and didn't leave until nearly 5! That whole time spent waiting for the tasteless mess that came out. The waitress came by four times the entire time we were there. To take our drink order and food order, give us our cold food and then the check. Now onto the food ordeal. Myself, my husband and my daughter all ordered the calabash chicken tenders with macaroni, green beans for me and fries for my husband. I got 4 tenders and my husband only got three. What's up with that?? The portion is obviously very small. It all came out barely warm and the macaroni was cold. The macaroni was literally a tiny bit of noodles buried underneath a piece of shredded cheese blanket. The chicken had no flavor whatsoever. The green beans had a sweet perfume taste to them and the fries were just potato sticks. No seasoning to be found anywhere on anything. The cornbread is sweet as advertised but that's it. Just a plain sweet as sugar piece of bland bread. The garlic cheese biscuit was definitely garlicky if you're into that and just a dry crumbly mouth full of garlic and that's it. This place is clearly targeted towards older people who can't stomach any seasoning. The staff wasn't helpful and they weren't courteous. Wish I could get my money and time wasted back from this monstrosity. What a disaster! read more

Went there for the first time today, decided to give it a try over the clock down the road, and boy did I make the right decision. Food was absolutely delicious, got the flounder with Mac and cheese and fries, everything was cooked perfect, flounder was fried just right and nice and flakey with a hint of lemon, fries were just crispy enough with the right amount of seasoning, and Mac and cheese like your grandma makes. And oh dear lord the cheese biscuits were out of this world. Staff was exceptional, my waitress was Sabrina and she was super attentive and friendly, definitely ask for her, she was on top of it. I can't rate Josie's higher than ok for several reasons. 1st the turnip greens, cabbage & biscuits all have sugar in them. I didn't enjoy them for that reason. The" seasoned" green beans were so bland i couldn't tell if they were canned or not. Fried okra is soft not like fried. Squash casserole was a little gummy. Today I tried the fried chicken which is choice of breast or leg quarter. i chose the breast. My plate was brought out & there was a wing & a breast that the better part of the breast just wasn't there. I got more meat off the wing than the breast. So far the best thing there is the chicken fried cubed pork loin fillet. As far as service goes it is average. everyone is friendly but a little slow. read more
