Food always comes out hot and fast. We can always get a table! Their drinks are my favorite! Always a good price for the portion size too!

Upon entrance we had a very brief wait and then were seated in what seemed to be in a secluded area in the back. Our server I believe his name was Israel. Very pleasant gentleman. We order fajita wraps I believe and I had a raspberry margarita. Both we very appetizing. For my main dish I had a burrito bowl with shrimp , it was very good and filling.

Delicious guacamole prepared at your table.

While some may view this restaurant as not authentic and too corporate, I actually enjoyed it. A clean cheerful atmosphere and outstanding guacamole are great. The hours of operation are also not bad (doesn't close at 8 pm). The guacamole is prepared at your table and is fresh and delicious and served in an appetizing way. The other dish we had is chicken fajitas. It arrived at the table sizzling and the flavors were outstanding not too salty or bland. Looking forward to coming back.

The kids and I were hungry for enchiladas. I stopped by, placed my takeout order and sat down playing games on my phone. I didn't pay attention to time. I received an apology and $10 in gift cards when my delicious food was ready. The waitress said they just had a table of 21 seated before me and that the kitchen was a wee bit overwhelmed. I said thank you for taking care of their guests. If I waned fast food, I'd go to McDonalds, but the food at Sombrero is worth waiting for!

Combo 3 with beef tacos and chimichangas

Before a Wednesday night of studying, it's dinner date with the girls before hitting books! I've been craving tacos and wanted to try a new place other than our usual hang out. My friends suggested that we'd go to Jose's Blue since it was the down the street from her. The place was quite large. Pretty cool decors. We were greeted and seated right away. Ordered our cocktails and with quite a large menu, i decided to go with the three combo. I had a tamale, chimichangas and taco which came with rice & beans. One of the girls ordered their surf n turf burrito, while the other ordered a combo 3 with tacos and chimichangas. Our waiter asked if we would like guac and also I'm not a big guac eater, the girls wanted to try so why not. Little did we know, a lady with a cart came by and made fresh guac right next to our table! WE were AMAZED! Most places premake guac but this was so fresh it was super delicious! Our food arrived shortly and honestly, it was ok. The seasoning was on point, but compared to other Mexican restaurants, I've had more authentic food. I really wanted authentic tacos (cilantro and onions) but it came out American style. My chimichangas was a bit soggy and tamale was dry, over cooked or possibly old?? The rice was great but imI was more saddened that the beans went homemade. From the look, texture and taste; it was premade canned beans. Nothing wrong with that but I mean.. $16 for ok/ below average food was a bit disappointing. I didn't try my friends foods, but they said it was ok. Have had better. However, i ordered the 3 steak taco dinner to go for my brother in law and he enjoyed the tacos. It was exactly what i wanted. Cilantro and onion. Simple. Probably will stop again during desperate times and measure, but wouldn't be my to go place.

See the shine on the taco shell? That's grease dripping from the bottom of the container. It was so bad...

I'm only minutes into my pick-up order and instead I'm writing this review. All just bad, bad, bad, bad....please do not bother, and save your money. If you think you are going to get authentic Mexican food....think again. Even the Mexican rice and beans were bad! You'd be better off going to Taco Bell, and I don't even do TB. Please listen when I say this, don't get food from here! Ugh! So disappointing!

Server is perfectly nice, hostess was also great. I really want to like the place. But the food is just not up to parr with other Mexican options in greater Milwaukee. (Especially Taqueria Arandas in Racine and in taco trucks) I might come back for something else. But I'll remember not to have tacos here.

Huracan surf and turf burrito and 2 Korean bulgogi street tacos

This was the only Mexican restaurant in the area that had a surf n turf burrito on their menu. It wasn't bad. Not as good as my "go-to" places in San Diego, but I was somewhat satisfied. I want to give them five stars but I think that they forgot to put the guacamole in the burrito as I had requested and they cut the burrito in half. That is annoying to me. I grew up to n San Diego and I have been eating Mexican food for years; mainly burritos. No one cuts them in half. I know that it's the same burrito but I like eating my burrito from end to end and not from the middle. The bulgogi tacos were pretty good. I wish that I had paid attention to the shrimp taco or even the grilled fish taco. Maybe next time

The surf and turf burrito was very underwhelming for the price. The table side guac is a must have and the margaritas are great!

The drink menu was fun but I chose the Kudlata because I can't resist a Caipirinha. Made to perfection & served up in a lovely glass too! The tacos though is where I was wow'd... handmade tortillas made with heirloom blue corn masa! Come on! These tortillas were something special & elevated our tacos beyond any tacos I've had locally. Knowing I wanted to save room for purple door ice cream across the way, I had only two tacos but they were more than filling. The carnitas taco had a nice spice to it, being my favorite but the steak taco didn't disappoint either. We enjoyed getting to hear what the owner was planning in months ahead so we'll be back to see how the menu changes. Very friendly & welcoming experience with authentic food & drink I could appreciate any day of the week!

We ordered 2 cocktails and some chips and guac to start. They were served up quick and were delicious. The highlight of the margarita was the black salted rim. Incredibly tasty. We followed up drinks and the apps with the steak and carnita tacos. The highlight was the blue corn tortillas that paired perfectly with the flavors of steak and pork. All the flavors were well balanced with the smokiness of the toasted tortillas. The owner talked about some new menu updates in a few weeks. We'll be back to give those a try for sure.

While small, the wait staff was very inviting. Most of the seating is countertop, which allows for some conversation if you are feeling social. Let oks like they had a full bar, but I did not partake tonight. I ordered a chicken platter which came with Mexican street corn, rice and salad. Let's start with the salad. Usually it would take up half my plate, but this one was surprisingly small and not wasteful. Oh yes, and it actually tasted good. The rice was average, but the street corn was wonderful! I considered asking for a street corn to go, but refrained because I really would have just sat in the car and ate it right away. Definitely a go back side dish. The chicken was also delicious. It was grilled with what tasted like a tequila lime marinade. Wonderfully cooked and delicious. The only downside was that the chips and salsa are an additional charge. However I do recommend you try it. The salsa comes in a squeeze bottle, which was unusual, but I am sure helps to keep expenses for the restaurant reasonable. The salsa was a bit thinner than normal, but it had a really good smoky flavor.
