I really wanted to like this place more. They have ample parking outside and a large restaurant and bar inside. There's also a sizeable patio for outdoor seating. They only have a small laminated menu at the table for drinks and no prices anywhere. I tried asking the server if there was a happy hour and it sounded like that's not something offered here. When I asked about the margaritas, I was told they started at $11 and beers were about $6 for pints and about $8 for 22 oz, so I ordered a 22oz Dos Equis (came out to $8.50). Unfortunately, it tasted off like the tap line was dirty. Our server was nice and friendly though. He was great. The menu prices differed with what they had online by about $2-3 for most of the dishes. Not a fan when they can't keep menus up to date. I opted for the street tacos which came out to $18.50. The pastor tacos were good though there was an odd bite or two of very chewy or tough pieces of pork. The rice and beans were not worth the calories. The chips and salsa were good and a sizeable portion but not enough to make up for the prices with everything else. You also find out at the end that they charge extra for using a card. You can pay in cash to get the extra amount taken off. The space had an overly sweet air freshener smell, almost like they're trying to cover something else up. Similar to other reviews, this place is okay but it's not worth the price point in my opinion. read more

Three couples tried this restaurant and all were impressed. The food was fresh, severed piping hot, and they provided large portions. Everyone enjoyed their meals and 5 out of 6 took food home. Their beverages were above average but not great. The service was very good. Our server was polite and respectful. The environment is nice, lots of tables but no high top tables. They also have a nice patio with more tables. No matter your group size they can accommodate you. read more

We've come here a couple times now, it's literally walking distance from our house so I liked that. I wasn't impressed on our first two visits, ordered a burrito wrap and it was unimpressive for the price so I didn't feel the need to write a review. Last night we decided to give them another try just based on proximity and I'm so glad we did! The service has always been very good both times. Honestly, I just think I was ordering the wrong thing. I had the fajitas and they were some of the best I've ever had! I love how everything is cut up smaller and heavily seasoned! So good, this place is a new favorite for us read more

I really enjoyed my experience here and have gone back several times. The service is always excellent and quick, the food is wonderful. It's a huge menu with lots of variety. The portions are large and you get a lot for what you order! I highly recommend dining here for Mexican food. The enchiladas with 3 different sauces (red, verde, and cheese) are my absolute favorite! read more

This was our third visit. It took a very very long time to get someone to bring drinks then again to come to take our order. We had our chips completely eaten by that time. Like 25-30 minutes just to order food. Ordered a child taco and burrito but they brought an enchilada by mistake. Refills on some drinks were free and others we were charged for even though drinks were only partially gone. Steak was very grisly and easily consisted of more fat than meat. It was also ordered medium but came well done. No one asked how the food was, so there was no one to tell. Tortillas in foil were a bit cold and hard. The food is tasty so that's why the review isn't lower. Booths are not bolted down so if you try to get up, they can move and slide around. We will try another day and maybe ask more detailed questions before paying $4 for 4 ounces of liquid. read more

5 star burrito!! We will get it next time. It was doable. The chicken was really good!

My family and I were devastated when La Chimenea in Germantown closed in 2018 and were not impressed the one time we ate at Matteo's after it opened in 2022, so we were looking forward to trying Sol-Agave after it opened in summer 2024. I got a chicken and shrimp burrito, my wife got a cheese quesadilla, one kid got taquitos, and the other kid got a cheeseburger. My wife thought her quesadilla was fine, but nothing special. Unlike me, she liked the rice (I thought it had an odd flavor). The kid that got taquitos didn't like them and I thought the bite I tried was super bland. The kid with the cheeseburger ate it without complaints. My wife didn't like the chips we were given, but the kids and I did (I thought they were fantastic). In my large burrito there were only four shrimp (although they were big ones) and the rest of the filling was chunks of fajita chicken instead of shredded chicken like I guess I was expecting given my limited experience with chicken in burritos at non-fast food Mexican restaurants. The chicken had some marinade/seasoning, but not enough in my opinion. The cheese sauce on top of the burrito was ok. Our search for a Mexican restaurant to replace La Chimenea continues. Like Matteo's, Sol-Agave isn't the answer. read more

Service was slow and messy. Was charged incorrect amounts and now I have to wait on a voided charge for a refund. Called have to wait 2-3 days for a refund. Ok but not 50+ for one person ok. read more

First time trying Sol Agave in Germantown. We ordered the margaritas on the rocks - medium size and they were huge and came in a big goblet! Very tasty! Chips and salsa is provided at the table and refills are available. The chips were authentic and the salsa was so good with a nice amount of kick. I ordered the fajitas Acapulco and it included shrimp, scallops and chicken with plenty of onions and peppers. The shrimp were nice sized and the dish was fantastic. Overall the ambience was very nice and not too loud for a Saturday night. The service was outstanding and they kept our drinks always full and the chips and salsa coming. Highly recommend anyone in the area to visit this establishment. read more

Mexican food is my favorite and I would eat it every day if I could. I have eaten many places but this place isn't it. The best thing about my meal was my spicy margarita. It had a cute little umbrella in it. My tacos al pastor were very fatty. I didn't eat most of the meat. My friend had the steak tacos and he said they tasted like the meat was overcooked. Our server only came over once to check on us before we even took bites and never came back. It has potential but needs to work on their food. read more

Came back for lunch, excellent service, absolute love the salsa here, and tried the guac for the first time and it was very good. Had the quesabirria tacos and liked them a lot, will keep working my way through the menu. My friend enjoyed the verde enchiladas, huge portion sizes here also, you either leave stuffed or with another meal for home! read more

Food is okay but small portions for such a high price tag. A $20 dollar burrito should be huge...

This place is great, you get a lot of bang for your buck with great service and very solid Mexican food for this area. Have been here multiple times and always left very full with good food. Today (and most times) I got the Texas cheese steak which always has so much meat in it and is super filling. Overall this place is great but the food really doesn't taste good enough to give it a 5 but I will come back again and again. read more

Plenty of employees make this upbeat Mexican restaurant a pleasant first impression. The service was fast and friendly. The food was simply delicious. All your favs, but then a lot of amazing specialty dishes. The music played at a moderate level was enjoyable. The decor has a modern vibe, with art that pays homage to the great Mexican traditions. read more

Came here during daughter's soccer practice around 5ish on a week night. Very fast service even as the restaurant started to get more customers. The food services were enormous and have left overs for lunch. Love the ambiance and colors...it's cool and trendy. A great spot in Germantown. The service was incredible and Caty had the best recommendations. Her skinny peach drink was AMAZING and we would definitely recommend. The food was all so good, we had the Hawaiian bowl, Mole, and street tacos. Will absolutely come back again to this cute restaurant. read more

Every time I go with family they mess up someones order somehow. this time around they forgot the cheese sauce in the food which made it taste almost bland. When we said something they didn't care, and we asked for some to go with the leftovers since we didn't get any they gave a tiny cup. read more

Food was great, and our waitress was super nice! The only negative was our guac was super salty, but we will definitely be back!

Good food with a lot of menu options. Great service and well priced. Large portions. Me and my wife shared. Chicken fajita and was not then plenty of food. Would recommend read more

Prime service. Excellent tasting tacos and enchiladas. Tasteful decor. Very happy about hours kept and parking is comfortable.

Food was great..,shrimp tacos, steak street tacos, chimichanga w cheese sauce. Salsa is also good here. I had a medium skinny margarita and it was huge! My daughter ordered a kids version and her eyes lit up when it came because it had blue sugar on the rim with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Our server was attentive and prompt, the restaurant was clean and cute decor. Best Mexican restaurant we've had in Germantown over the 10+ years I've lived here read more

Great Mexican food. I was hesitant at first thinking it was connected to the last owner who tried 3 awful restaurants at that location. I assumed it was them trying Mexican now. BOY was I surprised. This is someplace you want to try. I'm familiar with Mexican food since childhood. It may not be Mexico but it's a good swing and authentic. read more

I ordered for the first time today. My husband picked up as I had a dental appt and was in pain. I ordered a cheese and enchilada pick your own combination. In the app you scroll down, and I picked enchilada, scrolled down and picked cheese. Period. In the special instructions i put cheese and onion enchiladas as onion wasn't an option. What I received- spicy ground beef in a tortilla and nothing else. Not sure how they could screw this up. It was pretty specific! And (of course) I am super sensitive to spice, so the only way I could eat it was by adding a ton of sour cream and cheese to even be able to eat it. And no, I wasn't taken it back tonight-in alot of pain after my dental procedure. So yes, I could not possibly be more disappointed! read more

My husband and I went there for dinner and were seated right away, although the restaurant was pretty full by the time we left. Chips and salsa were brought to the table and drink orders were taken. They have a full bar, but did not try the margaritas during this visit. The chips were warm and the salsa was good. The menu is large and there were so many things on it that sounded good it took some time to decide. I finally decided on the carnitas chimichangas. I've never had such good carnitas, now I understand what the hype is about. My husband had the burrito fajita which he said was excellent. The included rice and beans were on par with most Mexican restaurants. Service was great--fast and attentive. Parking is easy because it's part of a strip mall. We will definitely be back and bring some friends with us. read more

I had the Veggie Yucatán. It had more veggies than you could expect at a non vegetarian restaurant, made to my liking. The service was great. I'll be back to try more menu items. read more

Decided to try this new Mexican restaurant in town. The food was good (the salsa was very mild). The drinks were good (seemed weak, but had a sneak-attack effect). The service was good (Spanish speaking server, but mostly understood my lame attempts at Spanglish). The ambience was cute. There was an error on our bill (being charged for large drinks rather than medium), but When brought to their attention, they did fix it. Some of the menu items were more "authentic Mexican" than others. But, living in an area where the majority don't like super spicy, the Americanized dishes also look tasty. I will likely go back for more. read more
