He diagnosed my condition after extensive testing including a consult on heart electrical physiology to one of his colleagues. He is thorough and thoughtful and knowledgeable. I know I am in expert hands! He has training in Medicine at Harvard and a PhD from MIT, he has multiple patents on heart devices. I know he is the person to manage my health and my heart health care and if I ever need more, he is a skilled surgeon. I have more confidence in him than any other doctor I have ever seen. He analysis's my condition and makes recommendations based on research information that he shares with me. That treatment is more sophisticated than any previous work I have had done by my PCP or heart doctor. I am glad to have him as my doctor and recommend him unconditionally for anyone seeking a cardiologist.

There is no replacing the personal in-depth knowledge Dr. C has of his patients. He and his staff provide wonderful and comfortable care.

AS a VERY happy patient, I can vouch for, and highly recommend, his services. Starting in late Dec. 2015 at age 78, I experienced occasional intense pain in my RIGHT arm. Jan. 5, 2016, my Primary Dr performed an EKG... no problems. Pain got more frequent and worse. Now was also having what seemed to be gastric pain accompanying the arm pain. In Feb. 2016. a new Primary Dr (same office) had me undergo a complete ultrasonic exam... kidneys, gall bladder, spleen, liver, etc.... all good. Pain now came daily, sometimes multiple times a day, was most when relaxing watching TV around 8 PM. The intensity at times was such that I could not even speak... totally debilitating. Searched the Internet regarding the symptoms... no where could I find anyone who experienced severe right arm pain... it was always the left arm and/or jaw and/or back pain. It had now gotten worse over three months and the pain was now unbearable when it occurred. I searched for a Cardiologist online... made appointment with Dr Gudapati. Had EKG in office 31 March, 2016. After only fifteen seconds of the EKG plots evaluation by Dr. Gudapati, he calmly told me to go across the street to the El Camino Hospital Emergency Room... NOW! Within two hours I was on the operating table for an angioplasty (stent placement). A single main artery in my heart was 99% blocked and actually closed off during the procedure (I could have died that evening). The other arteries were only 30% reduced by plaque buildup (assessed as no problem until 70% blocked). About six hours later, I felt I could have run a marathon! Absolutely no pain... like someone had just thrown a switch to kill the pain! Dr. Gudapati's quick and accurate diagnosis and this procedure literally saved my life from the "Widow Maker" of heart attacks. Three months of increasing misery and debilitation was totally eliminated. I have had nothing but superb follow up on the initial procedure by Dr. Gudapati and his competent, friendly, and helpful staff. The lack of coordination, record-keeping, and follow-through has been deeply stressful, especially when advocating for an older parent with cardiac concerns. Dr. Ahmad is thorough and she's had good recommendations for me in terms of medication. She has also made me feel more at ease as I had felt some of my issues were my fault and she has made me understand it's not my fault but genetics. She spends time with you and is efficient she will also go over things that aren't necessarily related to the heart. I used to see her every 3 months but things have stabilized and only see her twice a year now. I had worried about the reviews on the practice but every time I've called, I've been able to get helped. When she said she wouldn't be at Willow Glen anymore, I followed her to Mountain View. Worth the drive for a competent doctor.

So if your illness is more of the regular type, your experience could be different. I would prefer it to be 2.5 star, but there is no such thing, thus. On initial impression, Dr. Dao asked the most complete set of questions on my first visit. I came to Dr. Dao after visiting many Cardiologists, not being to get a diagnose. I had high hope at the time. From those questions, I think Dr. has a good grasp of medical knowledge a general cardiologist should. Unfortunately mine is on the special and rare type. At that time I got a not yet confirmed self-diagnose with the help of AI. (Yes, AI.) And interestingly, the diagnose was later confirmed via surgery with a prominent specialist cardiologist majoring in that field, after my visit with Dr. Dao. Dr. Dao claimed she had treated patients with my rare medical condition before, though she didn't fully agree with the diagnose before the confirmation surgery. And in later interactions with her, I often found her knowledge more from a general cardiologist point's of view, not covering the full spectrum of my illness's speciality. Quite a few times her understanding is contrary to what I experienced, and some suggestion could be even harmful to my situation. I think she covers the general side well, and she meant well. But unfortunately being a very confident cardiologist, she has an intention to center the interaction more around her opinion, it could feel like lecturing, rather than helping or listening. And the shown knowledge gap in that specific field often distracts me in our communication, aiding my dropping of confidence in her. I believe mostly because of the rarity of my medical condition, further visit with Dr. Dao on this topic may not help much. Again, your mileage may vary.

Not only were they incredibly accommodating, they were real human beings that spoke to me with respect and compassion despite my bitchiness. Our local pediatric hospitalists could not figure out why my daughter had prolonged pneumonia. Only Dr Obayashi correlated her heart condition with her illness. This prompted us to start the process for considering surgery. ENT, Gl, and pulm were doubting why we would take a "healthy" child and proceed with surgery. Only Dr. Obayashi listened to my concerns and my daughter's symptoms seriously. The other specialists wouldn't even recommend the triple scope.
