His new concierge service where you pay a lot of money to get access to him is horrible. Save your money. It just doesnt happen.

I moved to California from the Northeast USA in late 2018. I had a previous diagnosis of AFib, but had never had significant symptoms that I detected. I wanted to develop a new health care team here in California. My new primary Care doc referred me to Doctor Scott over a year ago. He diagnosed my condition after extensive testing including a consult on heart electrical physiology to one of his colleagues. He is thorough and thoughtful and knowledgeable. I know I am in expert hands! He has training in Medicine at Harvard and a PhD from MIT, he has multiple patents on heart devices. I know he is the person to manage my health and my heart health care and if I ever need more, he is a skilled surgeon. I have more confidence in him than any other doctor I have ever seen. He analysis's my condition and makes recommendations based on research information that he shares with me. That treatment is more sophisticated than any previous work I have had done by my PCP or heart doctor. I am glad to have him as my doctor and recommend him unconditionally for anyone seeking a cardiologist.

It took nearly four months to try to obtain a specialist referral for my elderly mother. During that time, we were given conflicting information, referred to an out-of-network provider, then told a different doctor would be used -- only to receive a referral letter with the wrong physician's name. Despite this, we were still billed for a referral that was never properly completed. We repeatedly provided insurance information by phone, email, and MyChart, yet were asked for it again and again. Even now, we have not received clear confirmation that my mother's cardiologist at this practice accepts her insurance -- including within days of a scheduled appointment. The lack of coordination, record-keeping, and follow-through has been deeply stressful, especially when advocating for an older parent with cardiac concerns. This experience has made it difficult to feel confident that urgent or complex medical needs would be handled efficiently. I hope the practice takes this feedback seriously, as better administrative oversight and communication are critical for patient safety and continuity of care.

I did research before selecting a cardiologist for a common health issue. I selected Dr. Ahmad…read morebecause research shows women aren't treated as seriously by male doctors, especially when it comes to heart issues. I felt Dr. Ahmad would be my advocate. It is hard to get an appointment as she is booked out but if you have a question, you can always send it through the portal and someone will get back with you in good time. Dr. Ahmad is thorough and she's had good recommendations for me in terms of medication. She has also made me feel more at ease as I had felt some of my issues were my fault and she has made me understand it's not my fault but genetics. She spends time with you and is efficient she will also go over things that aren't necessarily related to the heart. I used to see her every 3 months but things have stabilized and only see her twice a year now. I had worried about the reviews on the practice but every time I've called, I've been able to get helped. When she said she wouldn't be at Willow Glen anymore, I followed her to Mountain View. Worth the drive for a competent doctor.

I share my experience more from the point of a patient with a rare and notorious to diagnose heart…read morecondition. The rarity of my illness must have contributed to my interaction with Dr. Dao. So if your illness is more of the regular type, your experience could be different. I would prefer it to be 2.5 star, but there is no such thing, thus. On initial impression, Dr. Dao asked the most complete set of questions on my first visit. I came to Dr. Dao after visiting many Cardiologists, not being to get a diagnose. I had high hope at the time. From those questions, I think Dr. has a good grasp of medical knowledge a general cardiologist should. Unfortunately mine is on the special and rare type. At that time I got a not yet confirmed self-diagnose with the help of AI. (Yes, AI.) And interestingly, the diagnose was later confirmed via surgery with a prominent specialist cardiologist majoring in that field, after my visit with Dr. Dao. Dr. Dao claimed she had treated patients with my rare medical condition before, though she didn't fully agree with the diagnose before the confirmation surgery. And in later interactions with her, I often found her knowledge more from a general cardiologist point's of view, not covering the full spectrum of my illness's speciality. Quite a few times her understanding is contrary to what I experienced, and some suggestion could be even harmful to my situation. I think she covers the general side well, and she meant well. But unfortunately being a very confident cardiologist, she has an intention to center the interaction more around her opinion, it could feel like lecturing, rather than helping or listening. And the shown knowledge gap in that specific field often distracts me in our communication, aiding my dropping of confidence in her. I believe mostly because of the rarity of my medical condition, further visit with Dr. Dao on this topic may not help much. Again, your mileage may vary.

Dr. Dao And her office staff are truly wonderful people…read more Within 6 hours of my referral being sent, I had an appointment for the next business day. Not only were they incredibly accommodating, they were real human beings that spoke to me with respect and compassion despite my bitchiness. I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting "old" (30), or of my brain is degenerating but I seriously sometimes don't know what is coming out of my mouth. I have absolutely no filter and can be incredibly demeaning. ‍ I hate this about myself and after I realize what I've done I usually apologize profusely, but still--its a thing ‍ Anyways, Dr. Dao listened to me through my tangents and side stories and and spontaneous sons and she was professional and kind-hearted (pun intended) but not overly so, maintaining her acedemic and intellectual posture... Despite my totally rude behavior. I trust her professional judgement and will recommend her to those looking for an exquisite physician ‍ Side note, she looks like she's 22 which might take you off guard and the waits can be long. But like wait times can't even be considered because it means she is taking the time necessary with each patient--I've also vowed to never complain about doctor's office wait times ‍

The first available appointment was with Dr. Obayashi, though his office was over an hour away from where we live. Because I was so anxious to have him seen fast, I agreed to make the trip the next day rather than wait a couple more days to be seen more locally. I am so glad we went to see Dr. Obayashi because he was fantastic! Dr. Obayashi was thorough, informative, and kind. He explained everything that was going on and set my mind at ease immediately. We had a lot of fun watching (and filming) as Dr. Obayashi expertly swaddled and calmed my son down, who was crying, He had us film his swaddling technique for future reference, and my son ended up sleeping through his ultrasound. Recently at my son's six month check-up, his pediatrician still heard a faint murmur and said it would be a good idea to have it checked out again just in case. Though there was an appointment available locally, I specifically wanted to go see Dr. Obayashi again. Our local pediatric hospitalists could not figure out why my daughter had prolonged pneumonia. Only Dr Obayashi correlated her heart condition with her illness. This prompted us to start the process for considering surgery. ENT, Gl, and pulm were doubting why we would take a "healthy" child and proceed with surgery. Only Dr. Obayashi listened to my concerns and my daughter's symptoms seriously. The other specialists wouldn't even recommend the triple scope. It was not until I insisted on the triple scope that the 3 other specialties saw what Dr Obayashi was describing the entire time. He was correct and was a true advocate for his patient. I can't thank him enough for taking excellent care of my daughter and being available, even when out of the office, to explain what was happening or checking in.
