Please be ware of this place!! It is a scam to just get money. Dont get fooled by the positive reviews. I also ignored a similar review about money and still went there to get trapped. They book a "meet and greet" session for new patients. I asked them 4-5 times before the appointment, how much it will cost after giving all my insurance info. All of their team assured me that it will be 0$ co-pay for me as it is only a meet and greet where Dr. will just get to know you. Guess what, they billed my insurance 700$ after the appointment, out of which they are asking me to pay 300$. This is a scam. And the Dr. did nothing in this appointment, no advice/tests nothing, other than me sharing about my medical history and past test results and my concerns. I got to know that there are California laws against this, I will be filing a legal complaint Update: I called their billing office as Dr suggested in his response and told them I'd report them to the medical board. They said they will file the claim with insurance with a different code to see if they can bring the cost lower. You know what they did instead? They sent the bill to collections immediately. No warning, no attempt to resolve, no accountability. Just pure, disgusting greed and lies in every interaction. This place runs on lies, shady billing tactics, and a complete lack of ethics. And if you dare to speak up, they'll come after you. Because that is their business to suck up on your hard earned money $325 isn't going to ruin me -- but this kind of disgusting thug behavior is what unfortunately defames entire healthcare. Dr. Iwahashi might be a great doctor, but it is nearly impossible for a new patient to see him. No care at all (not even urgent immunizations with a Physician Assistant) unless you see Dr. Iwahashi for an initial "meet and greet" appointment. The soonest "meet and greet" appointment? Six months from now! Yes! Wow. If you speak to different office staff, they'll give you different stories. Today a staff member called me to cancel my immunization appointment with less than 24 hours notice. If I did that, I would be penalized for wasting the doctor's time. Ok so right away I know, this office it too disorganized and disrespectful of my time. It's not the right practice for me. read more

Dr. Iwahashi told us that the generic drug that my wife was on is not as good as brand name. It really made a difference. No other doctors told us that. Wife was having problems till he explained.. I have been seeing Dr, Iwashashi for several years. He's a great Dr. that actually is responsive to his patients and cares about that. Dr. Iwahashi has been my family's doctor for over 24 years. The wait time can vary but can be long but that's only because he takes his time with each patient. He is the only person I definitely trust with my health. One of the biggest reason I prefer him over any doctor is because his practice is very unique, he's not too big on medicine to solve everything but diet and exercise to prevent any diseases which I totally agree on. You rarely would hear doctors telling patients about that. He's very caring, informative, easy to talk too and understanding. He's been my go to doctor since birth. I just have to add that this man is an forward thinking doctor (prevention vs. treatment) with "old-school" service. From what I understand, in the "old days," doctors knew their patients, cared about their patients and treated them like extended family (housecalls, etc.). Dr. Iwahashi is just that. He called us and emailed us after hours because my mother-in-law's bloodwork showed that her glucose levels were too low. He left a direct number for us to call - and when we called back at 8:50pm, he answered the phone to give us information on the next steps. My family and I have been going to Dr. Iwahashi ever since we moved to California back in 1990. There was no Yelp back then, but I'm so happy to see the great reviews he has here now, because he certainly deserves it. Even though it has been years since my sister or I have gone to see him, my mom stopped by recently, and wouldn't you know, he actually remembered both my sister and me. He mixed up which one of us was older, but hey, it's already amazing enough that he remembered our names at all! Dr. Iwahashi is very patient and friendly, and I really love how he seems to truly care for his patients. He always takes the time to listen to your problems, and you never feel rushed. I feel like I've been spoiled by him, since I was fortunate enough to have such a wonderful family doctor for so many years. This is a random piece of information, but my orthodontist while I was in school, Dr. Asatani, is actually Dr. Iwahashi's father-in-law, who I also highly highly recommend. Dr. Iwahashi is awesome! I'm so used to my doctor back home that I was so nervous to have a new one. When I met him.. wow!! He was so nice, and very easy to talk to! I absolutely hate super serious doctors, and he's not one of them. :) I see him often because of my illness and everytime I visit him, he always has a smile on. For someone that is always sick, the last thing you want to see is a doctor that never smiles. He always makes sure to properly explain the condition that I'm in, how it'll be treated, and what each medication he prescribes is, and how it will affect me. He also is happy to talk to me about any other problems I may have, and address any concerns that I may have. An awesome doctor! Dr. Iwahashi is one of a kind. My whole family goes to him now. Before my son was his patient (still seeing his pediatrician that he was established with before my husband and I switched to Dr. Iwahashi) I sent him some x-rays of a stress fracture and he did a full explanation for my son, including ordering blood work and calling back with the results, without even seeing him or having him as a formal patient yet. And, that was as he was trying to leave for his vacation. He really cares about his patients and is wonderful in every way. Just today I had to make an appt at the last second and his office was able to accommodate the short notice (my fault for letting a deadline for health forms for a kid almost slip by). It is nice to have finally found the doctor that we will stick with for the long term. It's taken forever to find him and he'd better not retire or move out of the valley! read more

Why do i give Dr Marc 5 starts...several reasons...First...he listens..Second he works with what you 'really need'...not just give you a couple of pills and off you go....Also, easy to get ahold of Dr Marc through Passport if you need to..a message service...Been with the Dr about ten years as well the wife...He is very concerned about his patients...sometimes very busy but you should be able to get an appointment...give him a try!!! read more

I would not recommend older individuals seeing Dr. Iwahashi... I personally do not go to Iwahashi anymore but both of my parents have in the past year. In my opinion, he is not setup to see older patients. He has very limited office hours with no one to reach if you encounter a problem when he is not in the office. In addition, he diagnosed my mother with a broken rib, prescribed medications- pain patch, without every verifying it with an x-ray. My mother suffered with a rash from the pain patch for a few more weeks before I ended up taking her to the emergency to find out this mysterious pain in her back was actually related to the fact that she had colon cancer. In addition, for my father he forwarded him onto a specialist, we waited weeks to be seen at said specialist only to find out my father's problems were not in his arena??? Just a complete waste of everyone's time. I think if you are healthy go to Dr. Iwahashi and listen to him talk about the weight that you were in High School or the latest discussion on TedX re: people's health-- ie "Forks over Knives". However, when you start to develop some real health issues you should seriously consider if he is the right doctor for you. read more

I'm picky about my doctors - that's why I pay extra every month for a PPO Plan :) Dr. Iwahashi is the kind of doctor who will spend extra time to talk to you. It's convenient that he will see both children and adults. When you are a busy working momma, having a family practitioner is a life saver (vs a pediatrician and a general). He's also not a judgmental doctor. I made the choice not to vaccinate my kids, and I didn't want a doctor who would give me the third degree. Very strange behavior. Called in to book an appointment for first time and felt like hearing my voice (accent etc) the front desk was just not willing to give me a chance to see Dr. she said he was not taking any patients till November and when I said can I call on November to check or is there a waiting list you can put my name on she was like oh November December is holiday season so he gets busy. OMG. Worst doctor ever 1st time - wait 1.5 hrs. literally. that was just to get a second opinion. 2nd time - wait 45min. for physical. he spent max 1/2 hr even though i was scheduled for 1 hr. any question i asked, he pretty much dismissed it with a laugh. his front desk girl is awful - they don't know where the papers are located and if u ever ask them if the doctor is running late, they never admit it. he does spend time with you so if you are lucky in him not running late then you could be okay. thats why the 1 star. most of his clients are old japenese folks. perhaps they don't mind the wait hence the 5 star on his review read more

My company switched health insurance companies, so this year I'm in the position that I have to find a new doctor. I tried to book an appointment with Dr. Iwahashi for an annual physical (according to the insurance website, he's taking patients), but the receptionist said I would have to see him for something else and become an "established" patient before I was allowed to get a physical. Seriously? Sounds like he is trying to gouge you for an extra visit. I've never had another doctor demand this. Then on top of it, I was told then next spot available for a physical wasn't until September - 7 months away! If you're shopping for a new doc, I wouldn't bother looking here. read more

BTW, when Dr. Iwahashi fills out prescription forms for me, he prescribes books for me to read, diet changes, and exercise. This is a complete 360 degree from doctors I had when I was younger, so popping pills does not cure-all. read more

Dr. Iwahashi is the kind of doctor I wish to have for my entire family. He was very sincere and very thorough in explaining the medical tests that I took and also recommending (but not forcing) a healthy lifestyle choice based on the results. I'm usually healthy (except when I needed his help) and almost never visit a doctor, but this one time I needed to visit him I was so impressed by how he actually spent real time with me discussing my conditions. It is also a plus that Dr. Iwahashi doesn't seem to be a type who just quickly prescribes medicine and pretends the problem goes away. He appears to rather recommend a lifestyle change (such as diet) that eliminates the root of the problem first, before letting your body depend on medicine. That I think is a fine approach to life. Since then I moved out of San Jose area so I've never had a fortune of having a doctor like him. Hoping I can find a doctor like him when I need next time. read more

Dr. Iwahashi has been our family physician for 20 years. He's always been there for us through the years. Appointments are easy to schedule, but be sure to check his schedule, because he's out of the office for a week or so a few times a year. He of course takes Medicare, but not sure if he accepts ObamaCare. You can't find a better family physician. read more

Dr. Iwahashi is the BEST! Our whole family has been going to him for at least 15 years. He is very caring and attentive; takes his time to listen and explain. Some patients complain about a long wait, but the reason they are waiting is that the doctor always "squeezes in" really sick patients who need to be seen right away. Thus the others, who scheduled their appointments in advance have to wait a bit longer. Just like in ER, if you have sniffles, you wait till they treat a life threatening disease, even though you came in first. I thing its a great policy, unlike in other doctors offices, where you have to wait a week to be seen. His staff is awesome - knowledgeable, hardworking and very caring. The doctor and his staff will go out of their way to serve their patients. I would recommend him to all my friends. read more
