I've been going to Dr. Tatelman for years now and she is fantastic. The reviews are correct, she is extremely thourough, writes every detail down and actually listens, and will bring up things from past visits to make sure it's been resolved. I was in Mexico and needed to be hospitalized. I wrote down everything they put in my body just in case. When I came home, I went straight to her and to my surprise, she was fluent in Spanish as well! She also listens. I was sluggish, tired, and had no energy. She kept hinting at depression, but I told her I would consider that if we could do all the blood tests to make sure there isnt anything else wrong with me. She not only was able to find out what was wrong with me, but we worked on a plan to get my numbers back in range. Also, she asks if I'm sticking to my regimen every follow up. read more

I saw Dr. Tatleman for immigration medical exam. It was easy to secure the appointment and a breeze to get the exam done. She explained everything I needed to do and her messaging system is pretty efficient if you have any further questions. A big clap for her receptionist Mimi who is not only a super friendly person but her genuity shines through her smile and words. Everytime I called the office, my call was returned within 30 minutes of leaving the voicemail and she tried to squeeze me in at the earliest, given the hard time limit in matters of immigration. She gave me an immunization shot so nicely that I didn't even feel a thing, undoubtedly the most happy and helpful person I've met at a doctor's office. My turn-around time for all reports and sealed results for USCIS was 4 days. They have a LabCorp right in the office so it's easy to get everything done at one place. read more

Dr. Tatelman's office is a delight for many reasons:- a) She is an independent physician i.e. she is not employed by Sutter, PAMF, Dignity or Stanford, which makes her clinical care more patient-centered rather than health system centered. Health systems only want to suck your wallet dry. b) Her practice is a one-stop-shop for all annual health screening needs for women of all ages. She does pap-smear and prescribes breast imaging, glucose, cholesterol, and BP tests. c) Before COVID, her practice had a LabCorp, which made blood draw easy d) She prefers to communicate via the EHR messaging system, which is efficient. e) She follows up on the test results and explains the results clearly. f) She has impeccable bed-side manner which is rare in physicians these days. She is very patient-centered in her interaction. The only word of advice for her - include mental health screening as women might be experiencing depression and anxiety during these times. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Tatelman for three years. She is an incredible doctor, from her bedside manner to her listening skills to her knowledge on health care. She is genuinely non-judgmental. I immediately felt comfortable as her patient. She is very thorough and does not rush the appointment. She did my pap smear and ordered all my blood tests. She took my insurance Anthem Blue Cross PPO and all my care was free as it was preventive care. I did have a copay for some of my blood tests which was due to the lab. I did my blood work at the lab on site which was convenient for me. Dr Tatelman communicated my test results through her online portal. You can communicate with her through the portal which is like email or call the office during business hours and ask about last minute appointments for urgent issues. There is a large parking lot next to the building which is free. Dr Tatelman is the sole provider of her practice which means that you will see only her when you schedule an appointment with the office. This is nice for continuity of care. read more

I found Dr. Tatelman and Mimi when my elderly mother moved in with me from the east coast. My mother had numerous health issues from severe debilitating arthritis, a degenerated hip and high blood pressure to emerging memory loss and depression. Have experienced nothing but the best of care, understanding and support from the doctor and Mimi. These 2 people work smoothly and synchronously as a team. Mimi is efficient (perhaps some other reviewers read that as curt or unfriendly) and if I need something, I try to operate with that in mind, meaning I try to be as specific and concise as possible and have all my information ready. Dr. Tatelman listens and then talks to my mother and I in clear, minimal technical terms so my mother and I get a clear picture. She is the doctor I turn to for management/understanding of all my mother's medications from the 4 or 5 specialists that she also goes to. Nothing has ever fallen through or been forgotten. If I need something, I leave a message or talk to Mimi and know I will get an answer and the help I need. read more

I went to Dr Joyce's clinic for my annual preventive care end of 2013. Although I requested to have only the procedures covered under my medical insurance, I ended up receiving a medical bill over $700 for uncovered procedures. My experience thereafter with the clinic to settle my insurance claims was not very pleasant. Although the clinic helped me to call insurance companies a couple of times (I called the insurance company numerous times), the clinic assistant put me on hold on the phone for several minutes in the middle of our call. During my followup calls, the assistant told me she had no time to talk to me on phone and asked me to go to clinic in person to submit simple information. Dr. Tatelman has been my primary care physician for almost eight years. She is an excellent doctor with superb listening skills. I always feel comfortable discussing my health with her and never feel rushed. She always listens, offers me suggestions, and go back to my medical history whenever needed. Communicating online with Dr. Tatelman is also easy; she uses Elation Passport and she responses promptly. One time, I had an urgent medical issue, she even took the time to inform my Specialist of my situation so I could get the treatment sooner. Her assistant Mimi is very attentive, friendly and on top of things. Most doctor offices have multiple staff, so I am always amazed by this dual-team taking care of many patients so efficiently and effectively. She sent me my blood test results when I was leaving for southern CA, to make sure I find a new doctor to recheck some of the items. The doc is fantastic, professional, responsive and very helpful. I would make her my primary in a jiffy. However, her support staff at the office could be far better. 1. I was covered as a student under BCBS of Massachusetts and found her through their in-network. I took my insurance card and gave it to the receptionist (Mimi) asking her if I am covered. Upon confirmation, I went ahead with my annual physical only to receive a $715 lab bill a month later. Turns out I was not covered. The doc helped me tremendously to reduce those charges but those dozens of calls and emails could have been avoided if the receptionist was more careful. 2. I wasn't even informed about the office charges until I specifically called the doc's billing center. Found out it was another $325. Again, the doc helped me reduce it but I had to call the billing center contact every time (got her number from the reception) to send me receipts and updates. She wouldn't send me anything on her own. I am really not sure how patients are told of their pending charges unless they call! read more

Making appointment was easy. The receptionist, Mimi, was super friendly. She is also good with injection. They have quite a comfortable office. The location wasn't too bad too. It was easy to find and parking is also not an issue. I felt I made the right decision choosing Dr Tatelman. She is very friendly and attentive. I would recommend her! This review is for the office staff. Sorry there is no other place for me to do so. It may not be fair to Dr. Tatelman. But it is related to her clinics. I made a phone call Wednesday afternoon trying to make an appointment with the Dr. Got a voice mail asking me to leave message. No call back after one day. I almost forgot that I called. Two days later (on the third day), got a call from the office staff. Hearing that I already went to see another doctor, the staff had a very joyful "Great", then hang up. Come on staff, do you know how much it could happen after two days? You are too busy to be able to return a call within one day or even the next day? Please remember where your pay check comes from. Dr. Tatelman, perhaps you are an excellent doctor. But your reputation is ruined by your office staff. read more

Dr Tatelman is a lovely, caring and attentive doctor who I would recommend to anyone. She saw me at short notice, called to check on me more than once and went out of her way to help me. Dr. Tatelman is very, very attentive. She listens to all your complaints. And she made right decisions for me so far. And she really cares. One time I was really sick she even called me on a weekend to see how I'm doing! I was in bad pain and in a need of meds - she wasn't sure they are safe for me so she called a specialist and called me back with a "yes" - on Sunday evening! But I was in pain and she cared! And she cares enough to reach a specialist, if needed, to make the right decision. She is easy to make an appointment with, too, if you have something urgent. Say, once I found a lump in my breast and I had to leave town next day for two weeks - these things can easily wait that long but if you're a woman you know how scary it might be - so she saw me next day so that I don't worry all this time! Dr. T. has been my GP since Oct. 2011. Her work hours are short, but she has seen me right away whenever it was needed. She listens very carefully and contributes good insights and suggestions. I've also seen her use the web effectively as we talk to give her additional information on a new topic. She has told me that I can use her emergency phone number when needed. I've been a patient of Dr Tatelman for around 5 years now. 1). I can get appts when needed. When I've had urgent issues, the nurse/assistant Mimi has always managed to squeeze me in to be seen 2). Dr Tatelman sits down and truly listens at appts. Her approach is not the standard one, where you feel the dr going quickly through the decision tree to get through your appt and to the next one. Dr Tatelman takes the time to listen inside and sort out what is needed. She refers me out to other practitioners as needed, and I've been super happy with the specialists she sent me to. She shows that she cares about patients and gives her full attention 3). Mimi is very efficient at balancing all the different directions she gets pulled by her role. She's professional and a positive energy taking BP and vitals and history; she juggles the calendar and time needed to get me seen; she follow through on paperwork and sends on the forms when I've needed that (other offices usually make the patient do it, or need follow up--Mimi Gets it Done!) read more
