I'm African American and my mom is veryyy old school so she was always telling me never to use tampons, & honestly it just kinda felt like everything in my family was taboo when it came to anything having to do with the genital area! One of my girlfriends has been nagging me for years to try a Brazilian, so one day I finally decided to give it try! I seriously lucked out because when I did my Google search Elaine at Brazilian Honey Wax came up! A little nervous, I went in for my first appointment! Elaine was the sweetest, kindest, most professional woman. I mean to have someone down there taking care of your lady parts is a very intimate thing. She made me feel so comfortable & was just incredibly detail oriented! I literally was feelin myself after I got this Brazilian, hahah pun intended! Seriously why have we been shaving?!?! Stop!!! Anyhow I ended up moving further away from the Beverly Hills location and decided to get a Brazilian more local. It was TERRIBLE. It felt like the lady didn't want to be doing it for me, she didn't hold the skin when she ripped off the wax, and I had so many in grown hairs a few weeks later. I had terrible itching, and rash that would not go away. I had no idea that I had hit the jackpot with Elaine when I had first gone to get the waxing. She uses honey which is way more gentle, and better for the skin. Needless to say, I suck it up and just drive the 45 minutes to get to her office! That loyalty made my most recent visit all the more disappointing. I had a 10:50am appointment. The day before, Felicia texted asking if I could push to 11am. I said I'd try to rearrange my plans. She replied: "let's keep the 10:45." I managed to move things around (because if she was asking, I figured she was in need, and I wanted to help) and arrived at 10:57 -- 7 minutes late by the original booking, not 15. When I walked in, Felicia told me I was 15 minutes late. I explained I'd rearranged my schedule to accommodate her request. She shrugged and said "too bad, I already booked someone afterwards.". It wasn't until I was in the room that I checked the reminder email -- original appointment: 10:50. So by her own scheduler, I was 7 minutes late, not 15. Felicia eventually gave me an extra 5 minutes to make up for the mix-up, and I appreciated that. But the cold, dismissive way she started the appointment stayed with me. That's not how you treat someone who's followed you for 15 years. Part of why I see Felicia specifically -- and not one of those high-volume places with curtain walls and hospital beds for tables (you know the ones) -- is the whole experience. A facial should be calming and restorative, and Felicia's warmth has always been as much a part of that as her technique. When that warmth disappeared at the door, it colored everything that followed. The facial itself was top notch. Felicia is genuinely skilled, stays current on products and techniques, and can deliver a top-notch treatment in her sleep. I hope this was an off day, because the person that greeted me at the door was not the warm person that I've been loyal to for a decade and a half.

When moving to a new city, finding your new hair care professionals can be one of the most stressful experiences. I'm always scared of getting a scissor happy stylist who ignores my pleas for a minimal dusting and hacks several inches off. Back home in nyc I had my go-to salons, but LA was uncharted territory for me. I heard Jose Éber had a new in-salon "concept salon" that offered more affordable prices. At first I was hesitant, but I learned that these stylists have been properly and professionally trained by the best in Jose Éber for years. This in house concept salon gives these stylists a chance to grow their client base, and gives US a chance to become a regular before they become so sought after it's nearly impossible to get an appointment. So I booked an appointment with J. Andrew for a cut. No color, I was just carefully testing the water. He is FANTASTIC. During the consultation, he listened to me carefully and gave his honest suggestions. He didn't pressure me to cut more than I wanted to, but did show me how amazing my hair would look at the length and shape he suggested for future visits. Then he gave me the best shampoo I've ever had, complete with the most relaxing pressure point scalp and neck massage. The cut was perfect, and even though I know I need to return to have a bit more taken off, I really appreciated that he gave me what I asked for and did not pressure me. After the blow out, he went back through my hair to do a little dry cutting to ensure perfection. I'm not exaggerating, he went through every strand to make sure everything was immaculate. I've never had such careful attention paid to my hair before. I normally wash my hair every day and blow outs never look good enough to try to preserve after I sleep on them. His blow out lasted four days (which is unheard of for me), and could've lasted longer if I wasn't so adamant about washing it. If you don't have oily hair, I can easily imagine going to him for one wash and blow out per week. If you're considering booking, I highly recommend booking with J. Andrew. While I'd like to keep him to myself, he's too talented and deserves recognition. And aside of his chairside manner and amazing cutting skills, another thing I loved is that he's not gossipy. That is so rare! He is extremely professional, and all about the work. You'll love his cuts, I already can't wait to go back. read more

I HAD THE UNFORTUNATE ENCOUNTER OF GOING TO BATIA. I have to say I have been to many hairstylists, but I have never met a more rude and arrogant woman in my life. I thought I would try this curly hair guru but its just a farce! Her advertisements are FALSE FALSE FALSE! Someone should sue her for this false advertisement... Now, aside from her attitude- time to talk about my hair. It is longer on one side than the other! yes, I have lopsided hair, and no, its not a cute look or some new trend. Its just lack of talent and/or experience. She clearly doesn't belong at Jose Eber. Moreover, she speaks a foreign language the whole time- half of the time to me, while I nodded and pretended to agree with what she was saying, and the other time, she was screaming on the phone to someone else! It made me extremely uncomfortable and I couldn't tell if she was speaking poorly about me or not. Extremely unprofessional. In the few english words she spoke to me, they were extremely intrusive and aggressive in her mannerisms. I paid about $200 to walk out of the salon worse than I looked when I came in. My hair is a massive frizz ball. I look like a poodle after going to the beach and then going to a dog park. I am not a vain person, but I came for a service and walked out of this salon with little to no dignity left. As I was paying at the front desk, I saw her walk up to another client and she proceeded to ask them why they stopped coming to her years later. Is it any wonder why after my experience? I found it EXTREMELY unprofessional. The woman at the front desk looked baffled. I hope management deals with this- not that I will be coming back to her. She should clearly crawl under the hole she came from. Not only was she rude to me, but she legitimately bullied another client. She should be doing hair in a small salon in the valley- not in beverly hills at Jose Eber. Her work is diabolical. No stars. She is an insult to the other professional stylists in the salon. Her stupidity is baffling. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel obligated to say this was the worst hair appointment I've had in my entire life. I've been to the top salons -- from Milan to Paris to New York- and never in my life have I encountered anything as incompetent, dishonest, and downright negligent as what l experienced at this so-called high-end salon. I made it crystal clear to my stylist, Alex, that I was allergic to hair Botox and that I did not authorize any chemical treatment. I told him multiple times - no Botox. He looked me in the eyes and told me it was a Brazilian blowout. He lied. He applied the very product I told him I was allergic to --and knowingly did so without my consent. That alone should be grounds for legal action. But it didn't stop there. The color was an absolute disaster. I asked for a cool blonde -- he didn't even use toner. My hair turned orange and brassy, and instead of correcting it like a professional, he tried to sell me CVS shampoo to fix the color he botched. The blowout? Humiliating. Puffy, unfinished, and completely amateur. He didn't even flat iron the roots. I've had tighter, sleeker blowouts from Drybar on a $50 express menu. I paid $1,800 for this - and left looking like a DIY bleach job. The damage was so bad that José himself - the salon owner - had to step in and attempt to salvage the mess. Even he couldn't fix it. That's how far gone it was. Now, after lying, damaging my hair, putting me at medical risk, and completely failing to deliver on the most basic level of professionalism, they're refusing to issue Now, after lying, damaging my hair, putting me at medical risk, and completely failing to deliver on the most basic level of professionalism, they're refusing to issue a refund and I have to pay thousands to have fixed what this salon destroyed. Title: "Extremely Unsafe and Emotionally Distressing Experience" I've hesitated to write this review, but I feel a responsibility to protect others from going through what I did. What happened during my appointment at this salon left me not only physically uncomfortable, but emotionally shaken, and I still can't believe how it was handled--or rather, ignored. I arrived for a scheduled service that had been clearly discussed and confirmed in advance. Not only were key parts of the service skipped without warning, but what was performed was so careless and rushed, I left in worse condition than I arrived. At one point, I was left sitting at the bowl for over an hour while the stylist worked on another client, despite knowing I had a time constraint. My neck and lower back were in pain by the end. I also had visible skin irritation and blotching on my scalp after the chemical treatment. When I expressed discomfort, I was met with defensiveness and passive-aggressive comments. There was no apology--just dismissal. I later found out that unauthorized products were used, and the service I paid for was not the one listed on the menu or verbally confirmed. I've since had to pay out of pocket to correct the damage at another salon. The stylist also refused to perform a service that was already included in the price, with no explanation. When I gently pushed back, I was told "we're not doing that today" and brushed off. There was no professionalism or client care. This experience has left me feeling physically hurt, financially scammed, and emotionally shaken. I would strongly caution anyone--especially those with sensitive skin, mobility issues, or anxiety--to avoid this salon entirely. It's not just about bad hair. It's about safety, consent, and respect. And none of those were present here. read more

Hands down Karen Smith is a genius! Her knowledge and understanding of beauty, hair, fashion, style is like no other. If there were more stars I would give them to her! Karen is so unbelievably talented, I have never trusted a stylist as much as I do her. It's almost unbelievable how naturally skilled she is. She can cut and style better than anyone, and color is her true forte. I have never seen anyone else do what she does with her favorite pair of scissors! She sat me down and gave me the sassiest, sexiest and yet most adorable of hair cuts. I could not have been happier! Karen saved my hair - bringing it back to health after some serious damage done at another salon. She has done a complete transformation on my hair. She took it from a red brunette to an ashy blond without causing any damage to my hair! Gorgeous!!!! She is a true professional. My hair is so silky and shiny now and no split ends! Karen turned my damaged fine hair into a mermaid's mane! Karen is absolutely amazing at color and cut, which from my experience is almost impossible to find a stylist who is great at both. If you need to feel sexy and beautiful this is the spot!! Thank you Karen for making me look runway ready! Love you to bits! My sister and I stayed at the Wilshire, went shopping and walked by JE salon. We went to see if we could have a consultation by Jose himself. As luck or fate would have it, he gave us an honest critic of our current styles and then what his vision would be. We let him cut the hair, while colorist Cameron did his magic with the color. The time Joste spent getting every hair just perfect took about an hour. When it was all over with we felt like beauty queens!! Our hair has so much movement from the impeccable cut. He really wants you to look your best. My sister went from medium length to short hair that is perfect for her lifestyle, and the color is amazing. I went from longer hair to medium length hair, with layers and it is very face slimming. He also had me go from a blonde to a warm chesnut brunette so I wouldn't appear washed out. We would highly recomment this salon for anyone wanting a change and an honest opinion of what they should be wearing. Everyone in the salon couldn't have been nicer. They also have a drink bar and an ATM in the salon. We may live in MN, but our heart belongs to Jose! He is the master of cutting! read more

I was refer to this salon by my best friend. She was brought here by her mother, so I trusted that she wouldn't recommend me a place that I would not be satisfied with. I am not big into going to hair salons, especially since I am natural and workout a lot. I typically do my own hair or just pull it back, but at least three times a year I like to go to a professional to get my ends attended to. First off the place is beautiful! It very well kept and professional looking. I differs significantly for the hole in the wall places I have seen and been to. The staff is very welcoming and informative. I was recommended by my friend and I have been going to him ever since. Jose is very talented and knowledgeable, which makes me comfortable. I have experienced stylist try to convince you to do what they want to do. They listen and give their professional opinions, but does not try to force you into anything, which I appreciate. I wrote a review a few days ago and sadly found out that my review only lasted one day. I want to be sure that the public is aware of the unprofessional, crude and disrespectful way Mr. Eber runs his salon. Some of the staff especially a Ms. V, has a foul and trashy way of speaking. I have been personally insulted and violated a number of occasions. I was called a fat "f___" by Ms. V., for no reason and two other stylists laughed and encourage Ms. V. to say other cruel things to me. Mr. Eber has chosen not to take an action again this crude, and unprofessional classless person. Also threats were made to me if I reported what she said to Mr. Eber. I did report this and other crude incidents by Ms. V. towards me and Mr. Eber chose to do ignore my abuse by his employee. I no longer go to that salon. The salon is apparently run by someone who allows disrespect to clients. I have met other stylists in the Beverly Hills area who left Mr. Eber's Salon because of some other alleged unprofessional behavior. read more

Jose Eber's salon is an amazing Oasis for all of us. I stepped into Jose Eber's salon to ask for a list of services. Being from a small rural community, I wasn't sure if I had to be an exclusive client to be welcomed. What I experienced was just the opposite. Within minutes, I was embrace by the Eber Salon family. I was honored to have a consultation with Jose and Gregory for my style. After the meticulous cut, I was fortunate to have a colorist, Rivi, warm my bleached hair and hand paint highlights. "Less is more"', Rivi told me, he was right. I am in my mid fifties and to be honest, feeling insecure stepping into this phase of my life. My unexpected visit to Jose's salon reminded me that where ever your are in life, you are beautiful and worth being your best. I have never had such wonderful service by people who truly care. And for this, I am forever grateful. I encourage anyone to do the same as I did, "just step through the door". read more

When I walked in the salon I had brassy reddish yellowish hair, I explained to her that I was tired of going to people that could not make my hair blonde without turning it red. She said I will certainly take the red out but I can't promise that I will achieve the blonde that you want on your first visit, it may take a few times before we can get it to the level that I wanted it. She was very honest from the beginning however to make the story short when she was done with my hair it was exactly what I had been asking. My hair looked amazing, beautiful blonde hair again my hair was back to the way I wanted it. She said next time it will look even better, I was like are you serious I love the way it is now. I really truly didn't want to write this review because I really have nothing good to say at all. I went to Karen for a cut a year ago and came out looking like Mick Jagger. I am in my twenties, I wanted a cute short cut around my collar bone and I was given a cut that I could not style no matter what I did. The first month it was ok and semi manageable, but as it grew it would fan out every time it dried. I ironed it, blow dried it - did everything. I spent well over $200 on a cut that I had to go back to NY and have fixed for another $200+. I will never ever come back here. I called the salon after to see what they could do and they said I could come in and pay for another cut ....... Karen cut so many layers into the back of my hair. I never ever asked for the length she cut it at. Save your money for a much much better cut and service. Very upsetting because Jose Eber has a great reputation, but this ruined it for me. read more

I've been a loyal client of Jose Eber Hair Salon for about 18 or 19 years, and it remains my go-to destination for exceptional hair care. Nestled in the heart of Beverly Hills, this salon exudes elegance and upscale charm, perfectly complementing its high-end services. The hairstylists here are nothing short of amazing. Their skill and professionalism are evident in every appointment, and their friendly demeanor always makes me feel welcome and valued. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of seeing Shannon Morris for cut, Rivi for color, and Nicola who does both- I cannot speak more highly of them. Each of these talented stylists brings a unique flair to their work, ensuring that I leave the salon looking and feeling my best every time. I have jumped around most of the top salons in Beverly Hills but I have finally found one that's stuck now that I've been to Jose Eber! I have very curly hair and I have always struggled to get the right cut to suit my curls and face. I used to always wear my hair straight because I couldn't find the right style for my curls. Karen smith listened to everything I wanted and gave me everything I asked for and more! She suggested I do a keratin treatment and I was a little hesitant at first because in the past I haven't seen the results I wanted but Karen did such a thorough job and I was so happy with the results! I usually don't trust people to get rid of some of the length but I let her cut my hair and I am so happy that I did. She took off my split ends and gave me a flattering hair style. I now feel comfortable and confident rocking my curls. I am definitely going back to have Karen do my hair again! read more

Not even exaggerating: they literally used someone else's formula on me. Same last name, they said. That was the explanation. I sat there for over two hours thinking something felt off, and when I finally spoke up, they tried to gaslight me into thinking this was my usual shade. It wasn't even close. I've been coming here long enough that you'd think my history would be on file--but clearly they don't check, don't ask, and don't care. Manager was unapologetic. They still charged me full price. No offer to fix it, no partial refund, not even a gloss treatment to tone it back. I had to go somewhere else two days later and pay out of pocket to undo what they did. The worst part? The stylist tried to play it off like this happens all the time. Which... honestly might be true based on how casual they were about it. read more

I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Anjela Kasper-Nova, and I couldn't be happier with the results! From the moment I walked into her salon, I knew I was in expert hands. Anjela is a Vidal Sassoon-trained Master Stylist, and her precision, attention to detail, and artistry truly set her apart. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, offered professional recommendations, and executed everything flawlessly. My hair has never looked or felt better! It's rare to find a stylist with both exceptional skill and a warm, welcoming personality, but Anjela has both. If you're looking for a top-tier stylist who truly understands hair, I highly recommend booking an appointment with Anjela. You won't be disappointed! read more

ANTHONY at Josè Eber Salon is seriously incomparable! I always go to Anthony, and have for quite a while. Every single time he gives me a great haircut that grows out beautifully. Anthony's genius and creative confidence put me completely at ease and he always exceeds my expectations. He is so good at intuitively understanding exactly what to do to make each of his clients look their absolute best. Just try him and you will be amazed, delighted, and inspired! And by the way, the comments that I overhear from other clients over the years are more of the same high praise, and that includes people from every demographic. Let me sum it up this way -- now that I've gotten my hair cut by Anthony, I'll never go to anyone else. read more

KAREN SMITH AT JOSE EBER. May I start by saying, paying every penny for a MASTER COLOR EXPERT was worth every penny. I had heard about the buzz of this amazing stylist at the salon but never got around to making an appointment. All my young friends also go to her and I wanted to know what all the rave was about! She is extraordinarily talented at what she does, and treats every client with the upmost delicacy and respect. She did not keep me waiting, although it was clear how popular she was because I couldn't get an appointment for weeks and she takes her time with her clients. Overall, if your getting your hair done, don't go anywhere else (Especially in this salon)! read more

I was headache on which salon I should had my color hair before I attend my competition on next week. After I read the review here and decide give it a try. I make an appointment with Karyn Smith, the best colorist at Jose Eber. The salon environment is cozy and beautiful, I love it. I am very satisfied on their friendly service as well. Karyn designed an outstanding hairstyle for me with mix and match two type of colors. Deep blue and purple, it is quite suit for me. I am very grateful as I had a special image and it brings me more confidence when I take part my competition. read more
