I love Another Broken Egg! The omlettes are good. Biscuits are huge. They have pork alternatives…read morefor the breakfast meat, such as chicken sausage. There are quite a bit of seafood options too. I've honestly enjoyed almost everything I've had here - especially the Gouda grits.... but potatoes could definitely use some seasoning. Hope that helps when choosing your side. ABE has a have a full bar and great cocktails, so if you're someone who likes mimosas for brunch, this spot is for you. However, I recommend the blueberry margarita or the blackberry mule...Delicious! Overall, go! And if you're solo, sit at the bar. I feel like there are always people there and it makes for good conversation.

Im from Flowood and came home to visit. My boyfriend and I went to dine at Another Broken Egg and…read moreit was the worst experience. Not sure what had happened in the 2 years since I last ate there but the place was filthy and gross, we were told that the wait was 15-20 minutes , even tho there were tables available and staff standing around. We sat at the bar and the bar tender (who's literally doing all the work ) informed us we could eat at the bar. Why wasn't the hostess capable of telling us? Because she was too busy yapping to the waitress who wasn't waiting on people. The food came out and the potatoes were dry and tasted like they were cooked at 4 am and sat out all day , not to mention what they called an omelette was actually some egg smashed on top of vegetables and ALL of the cheese on the top. It wasn't even rolled or resembled an omelette shape. I should have taken a picture but as I type this, I'm praying I don't get food poisoning. How are you a breakfast place and your cook can't make an omelette?? How is that possible? I'm so disappointed in the quality of service, food, and cleanliness. The bartender asked one of his coworkers for help and she rolled her eyes . Who ever is managing should be ashamed.

I really really don't like having to leave reviews for restaurants that aren't 5 stars, but I've…read moregot to be honest about my recent experience here. To start, the menus were absolutely filthy. They had food residue and greasy fingerprints all over them, and were torn and ripped in places. I was shocked that they do not at least have their menus laminated for this very reason. Everyone at our table noticed this and commented on it. This is a horrible first impression when you sit down at a restaurant, and needs to be corrected ASAP! I used to always love coming to Jo's diner over 10 years ago. I would usually get breakfast, and it was great. I decided to get something different today, and I think I just ordered the wrong thing. I ordered a house salad with fried chicken on top. They used to have this on the menu years ago, but I didn't see it; however, our server said she could have them make it for me. What I got was a small side salad ($5) with barely any chicken on it. The salad was in a little bowl, and had ONE chicken tender on top! I was even more surprised when I got my bill and noticed that I was charged $8 for said chicken tender. So for $13, you would expect to at least leave not hungry. I would've been better off just ordering a chicken tender platter and subbing the fries for a side salad or something. Lesson learned, I guess. Our server, Scarlett, was very attentive and really sweet, so that was a good thing! I love the vintage diner feel of this restaurant, and it brings back a lot of nostalgia of visiting "Brent's" in Jackson with my mom as a child. The next time I eat here, I will either get a daily blue plate or go back to getting breakfast. I just don't think salads are their specialty. I will come back and update my review if I do go back and it is better. (*Management: PLEASE get rid of the 3.5% fee for using a card as payment! I purposely avoid restaurants that do this to their customers. I used to work for a credit card processing company, and know that it is against card brand regulations to surcharge debit cards, which it clearly states on the bottom of your receipt that you do. This is a good way to get a hefty fine from the credit card companies. All it takes is one phone call from a disgruntled customer.)

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.
