Jos came out to my house cause my refrigerator was not getting food in freezer frozen.. i allready had the back cover off ..he asked if i had a soft clean towel he could use .. he used my. Nice clean towel to put down on my floor to keep his knees nice and clean ..then he reached down and touched the compressor for two seconds got up said the compressor was bad, junk it to exspenive to fix.. didnt do anything else,didnt even open the front doors .i asked if he could give me alittle breAk on the amount he was charging me since he was there for under 3 mins? HELL NO be said..$120.00 i paid him..later that day i noticed a frost build up inside the freezer ..never done that before..i googled it, it said un plug fridge for 2 days and take inside panel of freezer and check to see if the glass fuse tube was burn out .. it was. Pluged back in 3 days now freezer 0 degrees working great . Went to jos store to see if he could give me one of those used glass fuses...their vary commen...NOPE. So he got my $120.00 check for 5minites of Bullshit and my compressor is perfect .. oh yea also. Jos sAid when he was here after his service work..THAT HE WOULD PICKUP AND HAUL OFF MY BROKIN GARBAGE SIDE BY SIDE FRIDGE FOR FREE FOR PARTS...yea you mean turn around and sell it $500.00. I called JO's Appliance after calling several other companies for a service call. Our washer wasn't working right. The other company's were going to charge me a ridiculous high price to fix the washer. JO's prices were almost have the price of the other companies. Joe came out and was able to fix the washer for a far less price than his competitors. If we need appliance repair in the future, we will be calling JO's Appliance . read more

I just read another nightmare story about this guy on Next Door. Stay away from this guy. We had him come out and take a look at gas stove. We agreed to pay the $125 to for the house call. We rent, so we needed to check in with our landlord. The answer took a few months (sigh) but he finally asked us for the part number because Jo's quote was something like $250 to replace a burner. When we called him back, I asked if the $125 still applied to the install and he said no, it was 62 days since the visit and he said no. Not wanting to come out of pocket for another visit, we asked for the part number which was no legible on the carbon copy receipt he left with us. He said he couldn't do that because his accountant had the receipts. We said we'd wait. No call back. Call again, no call back. 3X's now and we are done. I called Jo to fix my dryer . Making a horrible noise. Repair guy came over it's Kenmore front loader. Repair guy says he has never done one of theses.makes me feel good about it all . he calls "Jo" says what he thinks it is .. " Jo " says BS charge them for a timer ..repair man and I say ,per speakerphone it's not the timer . Drys and time is good . He says well I think it's the timer . timer would not make this noise . Repair man says I am going back to the shop and look for your part . He never came back . No calls nothing . I have moved to CBay out repair man is coming over says it is THE MOST easy to fix . If I could give 10 stars I would in a heart beat. Jo went above and beyond to make sure I was good to go and even made sure to be available the same day. I was in crises and needed my washer fixed in a hurry. Jo came out and looked at it right away. Determined the problem and was able to fix it pretty quick. I can't thank him enough for the time and effort put into making sure i was well taken care of. I would def recommend him if you're in need of a repair or an inexpensive replacement for your household appliances. read more

It would be nice if he kept the hours he advertises. I've been by his store looking for a used range for my sister, and each time I've stopped by, he's closed. This business is getting my lowest rating for attitude, lack of communication and very poor delivery practices. After spending more than I wanted to as well as a $40 delivery fee to come less than 5 miles, he also kept me waiting in silence. He first said he was coming that afternoon so i emptied the old freezer and rearranged some things in the garage to make his work easier. I never heard from him and after my second call at 4:45, he said delivery would have to be tomorrow. He couldnt give me a specific time but gave a range between 9 and 11. I never heard from him. At 10:45 i called and he said he was on his way, so i emptied the freezer again. And i waited and heard nothing. An hour later i called yet again and yet again he said he was on his way. he showed up 15 minutes later unapologetically and silent. There was no "sorry to keep you waiting" or "thanks for your business" or not even a " have a nice day". So he gets an "F" for attitude and an "F" for all of my time he wasted. Professional and reliable. It's nice to have a place in town that sells refurbished appliances, especially when the new stuff has so many bells and whistles that like to break down. I will definitely be looking here again before I go anywhere else. read more

I would ask Jo to give me back some stars if I could. We purchased our refrigerator 12 days before Thanksgiving. He only gave me $25 credit for my previous fridge (in perfect working condition.) Then he charged us a $40 dollar delivery fee to deliver it two miles away. He said he would call on the following day to set up a delivery time. Lies. I called him in Wednesday and he said he would call me when he was on his way. He also wanted to make sure my partner would be home to help him. (He can't hire someone?) I am disabled and could not help. But I told him I would need at least 24 hours notice so I could clean out my existing fridge. He refused. He also refused to give me a day, let alone a time! Three days before Thanksgiving (!!!!!!) he finally called and said he was on his way. When he finally arrived, it was simply dropped off in pieces in my kitchen--no help with reassembly--and the damn thing was DIRTY!!! Lazy, greedy, unprofessional, uncaring, lacking in any kind of people skills. Never again. read more
