Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives, and we're incredibly grateful that our…read morevision came to life. The final design was beautiful, and we loved working with our vendor team. Unfortunately, our experience with Details Darling throughout the planning process did not meet our expectations. The biggest challenge was communication. Responses regularly took about a week, despite email being identified as the preferred method of communication, and we often had to send multiple follow-ups or text messages to receive answers. More concerning, these communication delays also affected our vendors. Our rental company repeatedly followed up on outstanding items because they were unable to get the information they needed, and I ultimately called them myself to apologize and reassure them that we valued their partnership. Our paper goods designer also contacted me directly on multiple occasions because they were not receiving timely responses from our planner. Accountability was another significant disappointment. We spoke with one of the owners during our initial consultation, but after signing our contract and submitting our deposit, we never heard from ownership again. In fact, after our deposit had been in their possession for several days, I had to reach out myself asking what the next steps were. Later, after raising serious concerns about our experience early in the planning process, there was still no outreach or involvement from ownership to understand our concerns or ensure our experience improved. That lack of leadership and accountability was disappointing. Throughout the planning process, we often felt like we were driving the work ourselves. We were the ones identifying ways to reduce costs while still achieving our design goals. Rather than acting as a strategic partner in balancing budget and design, we often found ourselves leading those conversations. We also experienced confusion with rental pricing that resulted in unnecessary time and effort to resolve. There were also several day-of execution issues that were disappointing, including our escort card display not being set up as designed, my veil not being steamed, music delays with our ceremony and reception entrance, limited coordination during family photos, meals that were promised to be saved for us never being delivered, and our cake still being rock hard because it had not been removed from refrigerator in time. None of these issues individually ruined our wedding day, but together they reflected a pattern of slow communication, limited accountability, and inconsistent execution. Looking back, we believe our wedding was as successful as it was because of our own preparation and the exceptional work of vendors we selected, none of which were on the recommended vendor list from our planner. We appreciate the time Monica invested in our wedding and her kindness. However, based on our experience, we cannot recommend her or Details Darling's planning services to couples looking for a planner who will communicate proactively, advocate for their clients, and consistently follow through on commitments.

After calling around to several planners we came across Dana and she stole our hearts! Dana helped us draw up a budget and her relationships with certain vendors saved us hundreds!! We had a slight mishap with the photo booth I had originally hired for the wedding (pre-Dana) and two weeks beforehand were photo booth-less. I was devastated because this was one thing that I had my heart set on. Mike and I called Dana to tell her what happened and within 24 hours she had a new photo booth booked and ready to go. Not only was the new photo booth more accommodating and overall better quality, but we also saved over $300! I was thrilled and so were our guests (there was a line for the photo booth all night!) On the day of my wedding I had to lean on Dana more than I had imagined and she was so wonderful and really made my day extra special. I hadn't eaten all day and she made sure to have champagne and hors d'oeuvres ready to go in our room right after the ceremony while my new husband and I enjoyed some alone time as newlyweds. Throughout the rest of our night she coordinated everything beautifully. She had written up a schedule of what time we would do everything and the night flowed beautifully! I didn't have to think about anything except dancing the night away with my new husband. We had met Dana and her sister Marni through an open house at the OCR, where the two had come highly recommended by our venue. Dana had so much experience and knowledge of the wedding industry, so we were very excited to work with her. We hired her for the Day of Wedding Coordinator package. Through the wedding planning process, Dana was very helpful and offered up tips and vendor suggestions. She was always easy to reach on the phone and communicate any wedding planning questions I had. When I was struggling to find a proper location for our rehearsal dinner, Dana went above and beyond finding some excellent options for us. Dana and Marni were responsible for coordinating everything a month leading up to our wedding with our vendors/venue, orchestrating a rehearsal, and managing everything for the day of our wedding. They both did a good job, but several of our friends and family noted that it felt like they were working more for the venue than for the bride and groom. The venue wanted cars moved from the property before the ceremony, Dana asked our photographer to move his car immediately, even though he was taking photos of our family in that moment. I wish Dana had taken it upon herself to move his vehicle instead of taking our photographer away from an important moment. Because of that we ended up with only two photos of us with my parents. Overall, I was appreciative of Dana's work at our wedding, I just wish her focus had been a bit more on our wedding and not to appease the venue's owners.
