Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives, and we're incredibly grateful that our vision came to life. The final design was beautiful, and we loved working with our vendor team. Unfortunately, our experience with Details Darling throughout the planning process did not meet our expectations. The biggest challenge was communication. Responses regularly took about a week, despite email being identified as the preferred method of communication, and we often had to send multiple follow-ups or text messages to receive answers. More concerning, these communication delays also affected our vendors. Our rental company repeatedly followed up on outstanding items because they were unable to get the information they needed, and I ultimately called them myself to apologize and reassure them that we valued their partnership. Our paper goods designer also contacted me directly on multiple occasions because they were not receiving timely responses from our planner. Accountability was another significant disappointment. We spoke with one of the owners during our initial consultation, but after signing our contract and submitting our deposit, we never heard from ownership again. In fact, after our deposit had been in their possession for several days, I had to reach out myself asking what the next steps were. Later, after raising serious concerns about our experience early in the planning process, there was still no outreach or involvement from ownership to understand our concerns or ensure our experience improved. That lack of leadership and accountability was disappointing. Throughout the planning process, we often felt like we were driving the work ourselves. We were the ones identifying ways to reduce costs while still achieving our design goals. Rather than acting as a strategic partner in balancing budget and design, we often found ourselves leading those conversations. We also experienced confusion with rental pricing that resulted in unnecessary time and effort to resolve. There were also several day-of execution issues that were disappointing, including our escort card display not being set up as designed, my veil not being steamed, music delays with our ceremony and reception entrance, limited coordination during family photos, meals that were promised to be saved for us never being delivered, and our cake still being rock hard because it had not been removed from refrigerator in time. None of these issues individually ruined our wedding day, but together they reflected a pattern of slow communication, limited accountability, and inconsistent execution. Looking back, we believe our wedding was as successful as it was because of our own preparation and the exceptional work of vendors we selected, none of which were on the recommended vendor list from our planner. We appreciate the time Monica invested in our wedding and her kindness. However, based on our experience, we cannot recommend her or Details Darling's planning services to couples looking for a planner who will communicate proactively, advocate for their clients, and consistently follow through on commitments. read more

When I got engaged, I asked my married girlfriends for advice on planning a wedding. We got married two weeks ago and wouldn't have made it through the process without Aubrey and Details, Darling! From the minute we signed on with Aubrey, she was hands-on. I think it's a testament to how good they are that several of the other vendors we had that day (photographer, DJ, etc.) all said that Details, Darling was one of their favorite planners to work with because they truly know what they're doing! Me and Garrett got married in July and we had truly the best day of our lives, due in large part to Monica's flawless planning, organization, and all around angelic presence. Working with Kenzie was the BEST decision we could have made for our wedding day. Finding Details Darling off of Instagram and through a mutual friend, we found their aesthetic to be just what we wanted for our day. Every detail was unique to us and told our story so effortlessly. It was fun; it was bright; and Kenzie captured exactly who we were as a couple. Even with the partial planning package, Kenzie helped us pick our vendors without a problem and was available for any of our crazy questions throughout our entire 1.5 year engagement. I worked with Aubrey for about a year and a half for full-service wedding planning. Before I even picked a venue or a date, I hired Details, Darling and it was one of the best decisions I made throughout the whole process! Aubrey was truly my right hand woman every step along the way. I could always rely on her to give me a truthful opinion, come up with creative solutions, and support me when I was feeling frustrated with the process. My husband and I worked with Kenzie at Details, Darling for our October 2020 Palm Springs wedding. Kenzie swooped in for partial planning after we had to let go of another planner who was dropping the ball. Kenzie quickly aligned on the status of everything, understood our vision, and moved to make our wedding happen. She picked up our conversations with vendors, she translated our style into a gorgeous design (with an upcoming blog feature!), and smoothly executed all of the details. Kenzie's creativity, professionalism, positivity, collaboration, and proactivity allowed us to actually enjoy that amazing season in our lives. Many times throughout, with the weight of the global pandemic weighing on us as we dealt with downsizing, restrictions etc, I would ask Kenzie in a panic: "Is our wedding gonna happen? Are we gonna be okay?" and Kenzie would always smile and say "I'm not worried at all". I'll never know if she was secretly scrambling to make it happen behind the scenes because she kept her word and protected us from the fray. Aubrey was my wedding planner for our wedding this past July. I used her full coordination service and I would not have had the wedding we did with out her. She took all my random thoughts and style ideas and made them make sense. I started working with Aubrey after I found my venue and I honestly wish I found her sooner. She is so well connected and has so many great ideas. I never felt insecure about anything that was going on during the whole process. She never pressured me to spend more money and gave me options. The day of the wedding I could really see how much she loves her job, everything was so organized and beautiful. She added so many sweet little touches, with even just how the napkins were placed. I wish I had more time to take it all in. I was lucky to have the privilege to see everything before guests arrived because we did a first look and I just about died. Everything that Aubrey and her dream team did for our wedding was amazing I could go on and on. One very small touch that meant a lot to me was that the night before the wedding she asked my mom what side of the aisle she would like to sit on. I know this sounds silly, but it truly made my mom feel so special. Alessandra was absolutely amazing. I seriously would have lost my mind if I didn't have her helping me. She reached out right after I booked them and kept in contact with me throughout the wedding process. I hired Details, Darling for day of/ month of service and it was totally worth it. Any time I needed recommendations for vendors or throwing out weird ideas for the wedding, she was quick to respond and gave me many options for vendors. After I would book vendors, I would email Alessandra the information and she took over from there. They made me a stress-free bride... I know... Unheard of!!! The day before the wedding, she explained everything that would happen on the day-of to the whole wedding party and was very thorough with the rehearsal. Day of wedding- her and Ashley (her assistant) were amazing. My parents house was in Poway and it was HOT... but they were outside in the sun, making sure everything was perfect. They even helped nail down the runner.... like what?!?! Since my wedding had both the ceremony and reception at the same venue, they had to perform a switch halfway through the evening. I recently worked with Monica from Details Darling to help me plan my wedding. Monica was amazing! She helped me plan every aspect from organizing all my vendors to addressing my invitations (she is amazing at calligraphy!). I have to say that Details Darling was the best vendor I used for my wedding. I did not have a vision of what I wanted for my wedding. Monica got to know me and what I liked. She created an absolutely beautiful theme for my wedding that was perfectly tailored for my husband and me. She reminded me weekly of all the things I need to accomplish that week for the wedding. She helped me pick out vendors from my late night snack and dessert to my photo booth and officiant. She was always available to talk whether by email, text or call. She offered suggestions and was a great sounding board. The month before my wedding things got a lot more hectic. Monica was there to organize and remind me of all the little details that were important for the day of my wedding. She helped me with my welcome bags. My venue was a challenge to work for and Monica worked with them flawlessly. I can't say enough great things about Details Darling, and specifically Kenzie, who was the planner for our wedding last month. We worked closely with her for almost a year leading up to our day, and she brought the most creative, thoughtful, calming energy to the planning process.
