That said, the green fee ($120) is a joke given the endless sponsorship signs on nearly every hole -- you'd think that would help keep rates reasonable. The course was a bit dry in spots, and there was a bulldozer working on the Desert course that drove over where one of our shots would have landed, forcing us to stop and re-hit.The marshal was the worst part. We were keeping a reasonable pace (about 10 minutes per hole) with groups in front and behind, but he kept pressuring us to hurry even while the cart girl confirmed it wasn't busy. When the group behind asked to play through, he was abrupt and basically told us "everyone pays the same" and to move faster. To catch up we skipped two holes while he watched from the top of the 7th near a sponsored bench. I should've noted his name -- he seemed unconcerned. Oddly, there was a hole sponsored by a roofing company and the club had closed the front entrance because of a roofing leak -- seemed like something that should've been handled faster. Between the price, course condition, equipment on the fairway, and the marshal's attitude, we decided not to join the club despite a friend who lives nearby. Staff in the shop and café were the bright spots, but overall the experience didn't justify the cost.
