my father was a tail gunner and radioman in a Curtiss Helldiver during the Second World War. I've worn his leather aviator jacket since college. nothing else in my wardrobe approaches sacred status. my youngest son is seventeen. during this year's cool and wetter than usual winter, he needed a jacket having outgrown his old one (as teenage boys often do). the fabric on the cuffs had frayed and needed replacing so with considerable trepidation, we took the jacket to be mended. the fine folks at JORDAN's UPHOLSTERY said they could do the work but asked us to find the fabric which proved a little tricky. fortunately, my wife's a shopping virtuoso and hunted down the perfect match on-line. JORDAN's UPHOLSTERY did an outstanding job. the work was seamless, and the jacket looks as good as new. we're big guys (dad, myself, and Wyatt) and my young son looks splendid in the jacket. seeing him wear it evokes an array of feelings: pride, loss, and of course love. thank you JORDAN's UPHOLSTERY for your part in sustaining a family legacy. read more

Just had our 6 dining room chairs reupholstered from old gold colored stripes to newer blue pattern that also matches dining room drapes. Andrew and Julia's work at Jordan's was beyond my expectations! The room somehow looks transformed just by this minor updating of color and pattern. Very highly recommended for house upholstery but I saw more than a couple customers having automotive upholstery worked on as well. read more

Fabulous job by Jordans Upholstery in making new cushions for our Brown Jordan furniture. Perfect matching on the stripes. Julia and her brother were wonderful to work with. Used them to reupholster cushions on a 60s sofa we had in our sunroom. They remade the new cushions to the exact size and fit as the orginal. Their vendor had an issue with our fabric but they were super apologetic and solved the issue right away. Very happy with final product and happy to support an Oceanside family business. read more

Andrew and Julia are golden and the end product of their work is impeccable. They reupholstered a barrel chair I inherited and treasured. Even though Julia couldn't come to the shop due to an injury, she remained truly helpful (and charming) by phone. They did a beautiful job, including updating the style a bit. Also, I am grateful Andrew discovered and repaired some frame work to ensure the chair's integrity. Jordan's provided impeccable service and by the time the transaction was over, I felt I was parting with friends. You will not regret entrusting Jordan's to accomplish whatever you need. Jordan was super helpful, honest and knowledgeable. I needed a quick fix for my boat Bimini which had a broken zipper. He didn't have time to replace the entire zipper but he did help get me to where I could use it for the weekend. He was very nice and helpful. I have seen his work before and was familiar with him which is why I returned. He was accommodating and will complete my zipper when I return. Will definitely continue to use him. read more

After seeing their great rating and the positive comments I called about my kitchen chairs. I was told to text pictures of the chairs to her cell number and that she would ask her brother for an estimate. She acknowledged getting the pictures. I have not heard one word since then. A few days after sending the text I asked if there was any word on the chairs. Still nothing in reply. Very disappointing. read more

I called on 11.21.22 and was told they are no longer in business. It's too bad business don't or are not able to delete listings on Yelp.

What a relief to find a quality, friendly, and creative team to complete our Upholstry needs. Although it took time to receive both fabric and foam ( supply chain issues) to complete our dining room chairs and Persian cushions, but they always updated us and once in, they kept their word to prioritize our order and complete it quickly. They invited feedback before the work began and before completion. Such a pleasure to work with them. Their pricing is competitive with like business's. read more

I inherited a swivel chair that my grandmother purchased in the mid 60s. I've wanted to have it reupholstered for several years, but wasn't sure where to take it, so I put it off. We heard about Jordan's and gave them a call. I had an idea what color and material I wanted on the chair, and with my brief description, they provided wonderful material samples to choose from. Within minutes, I was able to confidently select my 1st and 2nd choices. Today, I picked up my chair. I am so happy, I absolutely LOVE it. If you need an upholsterer, give them a call! Stay away and dont waste your time, go else where. I took to normal size chair cushions to get reupholstered along with a sample of a chair cushion that I wanted the two cushions to match on Monday. An employee to me to leave the cushions and i would be contacted. Tuesday no contact so I go back on Wednesday and receive apology from same employee and told for sure someone will contact me on Thursday. On thursday no call so I stopped in the shop and asked about my cushions and the lady had no clue what i was talking about and did not seem to care about my business or helping me. I am a local resident of Oceanside and prefer to help out local business but Jordans Upholster may need to think of retiring and getting out of the business because they are not in it for the customer or seem to care about the business, they make other local businesses suffer as well do to the poor customer service MSgt, USMC Retiree read more

The owners were amazing and took care of my car and back to new. Thank you team for your great work! Local family run business!

Bait and switch!! After looking around on yelp for a local upholstery business with good reviews we decided to come here. Unfortunately we were more than disappointed. My wife's car needs a new headliner due to typical wear and tear on a car that is more than 12 years old. We called ahead of time and spoke with Julia to find out what their process is. Scheduled a time to show them the car and find out what our options are. Julia said they were able to get the material 24-48 hours and the cost would be $68.00. To have Andrew install the headliner would be an additional $380 or so. Andrew did not give the exact number but mentioned $435-$450 total. I then asked if I can order the material from them and do the labor myself to save some cost. At this moment, Andrew changed his demeanor. He then started to not show any interest in us. My wife even asked me if we did something wrong. I told her I don't think so but maybe they think we are too cheap to pay north of $400 for the total cost of the headliner installed. We didn't say anything about how Andrew made us feel bad, I then asked Julia if we can order the headliner. She mentioned It will be here within the next 48 hours. Four days later we haven't heard from them, I called and Julia answered saying that the headliner is in. Again, my wife mentioned that maybe we upset them because we just wanted to order the material and not have them install it. Today I went to go pickup the headliner, I saw Andrew and he seemed disgruntled right away. I told him I was here to pickup the headliner. He said "$121.". I told him I am a little confused because I was quoted $68. He said "well if you want it it's $121". Again I mentioned that Julia told me it will cost me $68.00 and I asked him if this is a bait and switch situation. He only kept repeating himself saying that is the price. Take it or leave it. Making me feel like he is taking advantage of me. He then said the price difference is for tax and shipping. Julia and Andrew never mentioned tax or shipping originally but I would have been totally fine if the tax and shipping were reasonable but to almost double the price of my original quote seemed insane! Feeling unsure what to do, I told him I had to thank it over. He then rudely mentioned that they charge an extra 4% fee if I use a credit card. I was happy to pay with cash but by this time I started having such a bad taste in my mouth. I was done with this place. Definitely not what I was planning to do. My wife would have been so upset knowing that we were quoted $68.00 and it somehow turned into $121.00. It wasn't right. I have been in customer service most of my career and I always try to support local business even if it isn't the best deal. I am okay with it and will continue to support our community. This is an unfortunate situation though, I truly believe Andrew could have addressed the issue in a much more professional manner. I would have been totally understanding if the total came out to be below $100 or something reasonable. I would of mentioned that it wasn't what we were quoted but I probably would have paid for it anyways. Unfortunately Andrew was acting like a child and made us feel like he is blaming us for doing something wrong to him and was clearly upset at us. Making customers feel this bad is a true shame. No, I do not recommend this business to my friends or family because I do not want them to have a similar experience we just had. Update: I went to one of their competitors and had a MUCH better experience. I could tell he cared so much and quoted me under $60 for the material. OUT THE DOOR! His prices overall are much less and his business seems a lot more organized. None of this false quoting then charging me almost double and blaming it on tax and shipping. read more

The staff at Jordans are great, I've taken odd jobs to them over the years since the 70,s from modifications to off road racing seat belts to complete reupholstery to two separate vehicles as well as other jobs and they've always provided better than factory quality results. Recently, I had a small repair job that required some heavy duty stitch work. I barely walked in and Julia greeted me and right away took my somewhat unusual request over to Andrew and within just a few short minutes Andrew handed me the completed job. Jordans is a very friendly family business providing awesome quality with fair and realistic pricing. read more

Great service & helped me out when I was in a pinch. Will def be giving them biz in the future!

This is a family business that has been here since 1954. Finding the business can be a hassle as they are right on S Coast Hwy in downtown Oceanside. There's no parking at the front really, so you are best off turning on West Street and then immediately turning into the alleyway behind the business. You can park somewhere behind their loading dock. Again, there's really no official parking spot here either. I came in with a large ottoman with a microfiber exterior that was urinated on by a pet. I was quoted $250 for the ottoman to have all the interior foam removed and replaced. Though it took them quite a long time to complete the project, I was in no rush and it ended up not being a big deal. When I picked up the finished ottoman, they had done a really good job.The urine aroma was eliminated and the interior foam had been replaced but also upgraded from the original material, which was saggy and loose, to a new foam that was super firm and dense. It is probably 400% firmer right now, which is awesome. The webbing was also tightened up. I wasn't expecting all of that - a nice surprise! My main criticism is that throughout the process there was spotty communication. A few voicemails went unanswered and we were unsure of the timeline for completion. However, once I got them on the phone, we were able to work out the timeline and the item was ready when they said it would be. The total price for everything ended up being $288. That was very close to the original quote, so I was happy. Overall, I'd recommend this business for sure, but you may need to be more persistent on getting a completion date and work harder for communication. I think the extra effort is worth it because they do great work. read more

This platform rocker has been in our family almost as long as me. It was made in 1886 and had been neglected lately. After having it refinished, we took it to Jordan Upholstery. I recently moved to Oceanside and only brought one chair with me from our previous home that has great sentimental value. I went in to Jordan's based on other Yelp reviews and was immediately welcomed like family. I had my four year old son with me and it wasn't a problem to have him there while I talked about what I wanted. I wasn't really sure what my style was but by talking to the owners I was able to easily narrow my search and find fabric that I loved. I brought the chair in and the webbing needed to be replaced. Everything was done within two weeks and they brought the chair to my home. I feel like I have a piece of Oceanside in my home - as well as the remembrance of holding our sweet baby girl in our chair. read more

The Jordan Family is amazing. Julia and Andrew have provided excellent service and a quality job when I have needed their services. At long last, I found a place that would repair my broken chair. We have an old chair that my husband's grandmother passed on to us. It's not super special or valuable, just a cool purple rocker that you can spin in circles. Like the ones that were popular in the 70's - 80's. You know, the one your grandparents / parents would always yell at you for spinning in circles, cause they would break. Well a couple months ago ours broke, but not from spinning it in circles. The base of it just gave out. We removed the base and for awhile just had it sitting right on the floor, but I got tired of being so low to the ground. I contacted Jordan's and they were extremely quick to help, and reasonably priced. I needed it fixed quickly for an upcoming party, and they totally met my needs. Staff was really friendly, and the prices weren't too bad - I honestly think they were charging just above cost. Also, there was a slight issue with the chair after they repaired it, and when I called them about it they fixed it the very same day, while I was waiting. I highly recommend this small business - they will take care of you! read more
