All I needed done was to install a custom $350 seat cover I purchased from Italy specifically for my new 2024 Triumph Trident 660 motorcycle. A no brainer? Hardly. The custom leather, stitching, embroidering and padding produced in Italy was worthless unless it was PRECISELY AND PERFECTLY installed onto my existing OEM seat. The seat and the newly painted gas tank are THE centerpiece of this bike. Bottom line. Forget the unbelievably great job The Pedro Boys did on my bike. Forget the 100% handcrafted experience. I'm always so grateful I find an experienced, dedicated and honest tradesman. I seldom purchase inexpensive furniture. It would have been a complete loss had I not found David and Pedro., particularly when it comes to the trades. The quality of work to create a custom cushion for my leather sofa bed is extraordinary. I really can't say enough positive remarks to express how pleased I am. I try typically takes many years to find, a typically family owned and run business for tailoring clothing, shoe repair, hair and nail stylists, etc. I'm not completely jaded, still finding these businesses are becoming fewer and fewer. Many times they learn a skill passed down generation after generation. Honestly I think maybe consumers tend not to bother repairing, replacement is the norm. I don't buy what's necessarily currently en Vogue. I buy what I love and take care of my things which if it's a quality piece will last sometimes a lifetime. It's nice to replace things when I want a change, not because it's falling apart. Places like Pedro's allow me to decide when I'm ready to move on to something different vs being forced. In addition although I appreciate change, typically I prefer everything I wear or use in my home , etc to be made extremely well the seams don't tear over time, color never fades and it must be comfortable and it makes me happy to look at for many years. I like attention to detail and all around time and money go into these items. Not true for every and I understand this way of shopping is not for everyone. I'm so grateful for trade shores that allow me to keep the things I love for as long as I like. Pedro's is a perfect example of professionalism, they are very honest, to my knowledge can probably make anything possible, they are fair and a pleasure to work with from every aspect that is important for me, great customer service. They will redo anything that the customer is not happy with if the problem is valid. I haven't had to ever ask for this, However it was clear to me that they cared if their work was satisfactory from my perspective. David was extremely helpful with choosing the appropriate fabric, in this case replacing an Italian leather sofa cushion. The original cushion was accidentally torn off and destroyed in the highway. If not for Pedro's, the sofa was shot. I would not have had the ability to sell it or enjoy it with a missing cushion. My budget was tight at the time and did not have a budget to have a completely new custom shaped back cushion pillow made of high grade imported Italian leather. I was given many alternatives to choose the best fit in terms of matching and budget. I chose a synthetic material that matches well enough. I received guidance and options to make an educated decision. No it's not the same, but it's what I could afford. $200 vs a couple thousand. David is mainly who I dealt with, he is so kind as well as an extraordinary upholsterer, strong knowledge base of materials. He seems to always be in a good mood and happy to help. There was no way using throw pillows or anything except for a custom made back cushion (designed to only fit the left side of the sofa would work). It looked ridiculous with only the center and opposite side cushions. No way of using a blanket throw or anything else to cover up the missing back pillow. I used to go to SOS until I felt like they overcharged & weren't helpful or ever in a hurry to get my job done.. So I scoured Yelp to see what else was out there & began calling around to ask for quotes for what I wanted done. I believe the son there spoke to me & was so nice & helpful. They don't have email or texting so I couldn't send him the picture of my salon chair that I need reupholstered. So he gave me a guesstimate & said to being it in. The location is actually in the back of this address in a garage so it's the street west of Roosevelt (I was a little confused when I pulled up to a tax office) I showed then what I had & didn't realize there was some wood that needed to be replaced as well.. What I had could have been trashed with how poor of shape it was in! I asked if they could add some padding & if I dropped off some wood prices if they could wrap those to match for the arms.. They gave me a great price of $145 for everything. A couple days in I stopped by to check the progress & they said that when they opened it up ALLthe wood was rotted out & that they need to replace that & if it's ok that it would be a little more and asks if is like to see that. I said No problem & thanks for the heads up! My job was finished in a little over a week & it was perfect! The cushions look & feel brand new. He ended up charging me $165. I tried so many times to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I was staging a home and in need of a quick turn around on some basic pillow covers and a custom bench cushion. I was up front about my timeline needs and pedro assured me it could all be accomplished in time. I dropped off fabric and went over everything I wanted. First off, the place is in the back of a garage type building and is a MESS. The notebook he had written on via our phone conversation was apparently lost somewhere in the mess. Based on my time frame I tried to look past his very obvious disorganization. I was very clear and even showed him photos of what I wanted because he was not knowledgeable about basic upholstery terms (self welt, knife edge, etc). He gave me a flat rate for all the items and promised it would all be done by the following Monday, Tuesday at the latest. Tuesday rolled around and I had heard nothing so decided to call and the pillows were the only thing complete. The cushion was done as well but not filled as we discussed, which I discovered when I arrived that day to pick up. I had to return again the next day to pick up the cushions. Again, he told me I could pick them up in the morning and then called and said they still weren't done. When I finally arrived to get them he then changed the price of everything, a very large increase from the original quote. I had originally taken him a chair for the seat to be replaced and after all that I simply took it back and will recover it somewhere else with another company. Very poor, poor customer service and organization. The pillows are half decent. Several of the zippers pucker and the sewing around the zipper is a very distinct contrasting color and is not professional. Bonus, the cushions aren't to the size measurements I gave him as hangs over on one size. Conclusion- if you have a lot of time, patience, and don't mind mediocre quality this place may be a good option. Otherwise buyer beware. I bought a great chair at Second Chances Barn in Fallbrook. So comfortable. Needed the cover to be changed to my Mexican Hacienda material that I had purchased from Joanne's Fabrics. All the quotes I received were for close to $400. Really? To cover a chair with no new upholstery? So I called Pedro's. They are in a tiny little shop in Carlsbad. They mostly do car re-upholstery. I was going to email a photo for an estimate, but they don't have a website. Not even a computer. So I took the chair and the 4 yards of material out to them just to get an estimate. I could tell right away that he knew exactly what he was doing. So I gave him the job. It was only $245. The estimated time to complete was 3 weeks. I had taken it in on a Monday. But it was ready by that Friday! Woo Hoo! When you call them, they answer "Brother's Upholstery" because now his son works with him. They are very polite and kind. They know their stuff. I like that they can do this, because I like to get the old furniture from antique stores and thrift shops, because the old stuff is made much better. And then when you find the right material, Pedro just makes it look perfect. So happy with it! Will go again! The photos of my stuff show the before and after. They had gotten worn and torn and I wanted to replace the fabric with something that would go with the other seats (seats in the back). Pedro and David helped me pick out a soft quality vinyl (warm gray), and then they went to work. I mainly dealt with Pedro. I needed some cushions made for an old Airstream that I'm renovating. I looked around and received quotes from a number of upholstery shops. The only one that offered to come out and measure the seats to provide an accurate quote was Brothers. I also had a very tight deadline to make for an Indian Princess camp out. They were able to deliver finished cushions in less than a week. Throughout the process they came out twice to cut templates and then to fit the uncovered foam. When they delivered the cushions they weren't 100% happy with the result (I was fine with it, but David is a perfectionist). David came back the day after the camp out and picked up a few of the cushions and made some adjustments. There are two curved cushions and the fabric tends to wrinkle/pucker on the inside curve. David suggested adding buttons to pull the fabric in and they look great now. Throughout the process Pedro and David were very responsive and I am impressed with the results of their work. I had some patio cushions that needs redone and started with that to see what they would look like before I took my chairs in. They gave me an amazing quote compared to other places, told me how many yards to buy, suggested a place in San Diego to buy the material and sent me on my way. I decided to take the drive to San Diego, because I was surprised at how much material was costing at UFO. Glad I did. When I returned, he was not sure if I had enough material because it was a pattern, thought about it a minute and said not to worry... he will make it work. Have two Ethan Allen chairs that have been recovered twice before elsewhere. Got them done this time at Brothers Upholstery. Chairs are even better looking than when new. For less than what it would have cost to buy a couple of low end chairs from Jerome's or somewhere similar, we have two better than new high quality chairs with exactly the fabric type my wife wanted. We have had several pieces of furniture reupholstered by these 2 brothers. (The shop is also called Brother's Upholstery). In each case, we chose from sample books that they had on hand. In each case, they got it done in a timely manner, although when the job is done, they need you to pick it up right away, as their shop is so small, they don't really have space to store things. The last piece we had done was a 3-seater ottoman and it was complicated because of all the top stitching, and the rounded corners. We are very happy with how it turned out. Their prices are good.
