Then they also only had the front bar open in the first hour versus the one right at the courts and bowling where we were and other guests enjoying their time. In the case of our group it also left us separated into two since as they waited for drinks then they just became comfortable in the front bar talking. They did open the upstairs bar once we moved up there. I would book an event here again I would just make sure to clearly note some of those details and/or even book the court an extra hour to ensure no crossover even though I was able to set up 15 minutes before our event start. For years Kopp's has been my go-to, but Oscar's has quickly won me over -- it's now my favorite frozen custard shop in the city. The texture is what sets it apart: dense, thick, and creamy, exactly how custard should be. Their flavors of the day change daily, and the website makes it easy to check ahead. I usually get a three-scoop dish, and Oscar's is also the best value of the big three -- $4.15 compared to $6.00 at Kopp's and $7.25 at Gilles. A neat tip: you can order a cone with your custard and ask for it in a dish -- they'll place the cone on top so you get the best of both worlds without the mess. They also serve burgers and fries, and I tried a hamburger once. While decent, I still prefer the burgers at Kopp's, so Oscar's will remain my go-to spot for a frozen custard fix. The West Allis location has plenty of parking and indoor seating. Service is fast and the staff are always super friendly. Between the price, texture, and flavor variety, Oscar's has become my top custard stop in Milwaukee. Highly recommended.
