I tried out Jonathan's last night for the first time and since opening it still hasn't slowed down. My friend and I did not make reservations, but finding a spot near the bar wasn't too hard. One of the waiters, Antwon, helped us find a clean table to sit at. The bar area is set up nicely for a sports bars with plenty of tv's. There are also tables around the bar for 21+ customers. We had ordered 2 michelob's after sitting down and the waitress gave us drafts due to their "$2 off beers of the month" special. Although if you don't go on a Friday they still have night drink/food specials. My date of the night ordered an 8" garden pizza which looked amazing and was perfect for a single person. I tried out the buffalo dip, which did not live up to my standards. Every bar needs a good buffalo dip, this one was average in my books due to it not being spicy enough. Despite that the atmosphere was great and plenty of waiters stopped by the check on us while not being in their section. I definitely will be coming back. read more

Jonathan's Grille - Buffalo Chicken dip - Sports Bars Near Me - Madison, Alabama

This location has not yet slowed down after opening early October. My friend and I showed up without a reservation Friday night and it was understandably packed. I ended up parked closer to the Publix down the road than to the Grille, but since it was just the 2 of us we didn't have much trouble scavenging free seats near the bar area. The main bar is the perfect layout for a sports grille, bartenders are friendly and service is attentive despite the crowded feel. We did not plan to come during a happy hour but Jonathan's has a special going on pretty much every night of the week, so we got $2 off on the "beers of the month". My friend was sure to order the Buffalo Dip, which should be one of the key staples of an American sports bar. It sadly did not live up to her expectations (her golden standard of Buffalo Dip is the one served at Top Golf, can't argue with her there), the main issue being that it was not nearly spicy enough. Overall I would definitely return again! probably will make a reservation next time. read more

Went to Jonathan's in Madison (Clift Farms) on Sunday... it was fantastic! The food was delicious (try the Chicken Caprese!!) and one of the best Long Island Ice Teas I've had in awhile, but the BEST thing about it was our server, Ali!! He was so friendly and very attentive to our needs. When I go back (hopefully this weekend), I will be looking for him, for sure!!! read more

Delicious food and Ali took good care of us. They're one of the places giving a better deal because you pay cash. Great idea to give local businesses cash! read more

Food was good, I had the ribeye steak and loaded baked potato. Wasn't impressed with the place. Probably won't go back. Our server had dark hair and a beard, he kind of reminded me of Rip in Yellowstone. read more

Our server Ali was very helpful. Food was excellent. Will diffidently be back to try something else.

My daughter and I decided to stop in for a late lunch and shared a few appetizers between us. We both really liked the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. My boneless chicken wings were good but I would probably try a different sauce other than the bang bang sauce. My daughter got the bang bang shrimp and liked them a lot. We'll be back one of the next times I'm in town. read more

Sabrina was everything! We came later in the evening and on top of that she had 2 other tables and a 15 top. Still gave us the experience we were looking for being that it was a first time visit. Definitely will be coming back! read more

The French Onion soup was delicious as was the lemon basil chicken skewers. I'd describe the restaurant as a very nice sports bar. The service was good and the atmosphere was great. Definitely will be back. read more

Great food and customer service. Everything was very satisfying and I will be back there soon.

Went yesterday and had the godfather sandwich with homemade chips delicious so I went back today for the bam bam shrimp egg rolls and they did not disappoint great service as well. read more

Tried this place out and was disappointed. They were out of the beer I ordered and took 10 minutes to tell me that. The pretzel appetizer was soggy and we could not stand to take more than one bite. No one likes a wet pretzel. My sandwich bread was also to wet. I could not even pick up my sandwich to eat it because it fell apart. The fries were just okay. The waiter saw we did not eat all of any of our meals due to how bad it was. He did not care to ask us what was wrong or if we wanted a Togo container. We will not return to this restaurant. read more

Wow. I can not believe how amazing this restaurant is. I have heard that it is "just a sports bar" so I was expecting kind of a rowdy little bar, but this is the nicest "sports bar" that I've ever been to. We were told a 45 minute wait on a table but we found a spot at the bar - but the wait would have been worth it. The staff was very obviously busy but still attentive to us, the drinks were great, food was delectable. 100% will be coming back. Every single bite was amazing. read more

The food was O.K., not as I ordered, but close. The service was good. The ambiance was terrible. It was more like an office building than a dining room. I brought my wife there for her birthday, thinking it was a more up scale place to take her then Olive Garden or Appleby's. It was not. She didn't mention it either way, usually she would rave on if she really liked it. read more

Really nice place with a huge menu. I ordered custom and it all came out just as I liked. Good atmosphere.

Very, Very basic!!! Upon entering the hostess couldn't seat us, because she was chastising another co worker. Steak egg roll appetizer was fairly delicious and then it went downhill. We ordered fish and chips which was delivered near cold. Husbands pizza was completely wrong and no rush was put on the replacement. Ketchup bottle says Heinz, but a low grade mop-water tasting sauce came out of the bottle. Ranch dressing for my salad was watered down. And it took 20 minutes for someone to bring me a different hot sauce than I requested. They had 4 options. As far as the pizza... a Digornio would've been better. No rush to give them a second chance. We dined around 4pm on a Friday. read more

We had great appetizers! Pretzels with dipping sauce, crispy Brussels, southwest egg rolls and a wedge salad, all excellent! The best part was our waiter, Devin! Efficient and attentive, without being intrusive. Servings were big, so we have lunch for tomorrow. We live in Huntsville, but will come out to Madison to eat here again! read more

We just came for the first time after I heard rave reviews on the radio and from locals. I won't be back. We sat at the bar and were barely dealt with. Their cocktails menu is so plain, none of the food we got, had any flavor. I had a Philly cheesesteak with fries and none of it was seasoned, even putting salt and pepper on them didn't make them any better. My husband had fish the chips and he said his tasted like it was frozen and then reheated and again no flavor, he put ketchup all over his stuff. I'm super disappointed after I went in with high hopes. I have no intentions of going back. read more

This restaurant is new so some of the things are excusable. We had a group of 8. All of the drinks were badly made except my Ice Tea. I and another person ordered soup. They both came out cold. Even the replacement soup was cold. I didn't get my replacement soup. I had the Taco Salad and the chicken in it was burnt and overcooked. Dry. The service was very slow but they were busy. I am very unexpressed with this place. It's too expensive to also have bad food. The staff including the manager needs to be trained better. read more

Server was great. She did an excellent job of taking our order and accommodating us. Food was good and arrived in a timely manner. Great atmosphere and like the fact that there are multiple games playing on the multiple tv's. Here's my complaint. We were a party of 10 and they did not want to seat us until a certain amount of the party showed up. Which really was annoying to me but hey, what can you do right? The biggest issue I had was an extra charge that was utterly ridiculous. My wife and I both ordered the breakfast burger (A bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg in top). My wife wanted her egg in the side because I was going to eat it. When the check came I noticed an extra $2 charge on her meal. When I asked the server she told me it was because they put the egg on the side. The shock in my face was priceless. I've never ever heard of a restaurant charging extra for this. The egg was in a small bowl literally 1 inch away from her burger!!! The server was nice enough to remove the charge after noticing my facial expression. I understand it's only $2 and that's not the issue. The issue of charging it in the first place and not telling customers upfront. read more

The worst service ever for a new restaurant. The waitress took my specific order the meal came out with everything I didn't want on it. The runner dropped the meal and took off. Needing napkins and silverware.... never had a chance to get that. Drink ran out 3 bites into meal. waited 15 minutes watching a bar staff of 4-6 people talking to each other and working on iPad screen probably to figure there tips. I knocked over my cup of ice on the bar to see if that would get anyone's attention. HA. Not a chance. After additional 20 minutes I stopped random waitress and asked for manager 5 minutes later he came over. Guess he was a manager? but I do know he was 1 of the 4-6 bar staff that completely ignored my presence for 30 plus minutes Will not recommend. And from listening to some other patrons they felt the same. Side note. This took place 8:30 pm. Not during the high dinner rush. read more

I was initially excited of the news that the Madison area was getting a "sports bar". Two visits in and that excitement has quickly faded. The most recent visit was the deciding factor in writing this place off my list. Take a gander at this bargain $16 sandwich! A single slice of meat. I do not send food back but I will follow up. Emails to the restaurant manager and corporate went ignored. Fair enough. I just will not give them a chance to rip me off again. The first visit was almost enough to deter me from visiting again but figured I'd give them one more try. #bringonwalkons read more

Egg rolls were tasteless and undercooked. The prime sandwich was tasteless and the pizza was soggy and undercooked. Served on cardboard which didn't help. The sausage on the pizza was good. That's about it. We will not visit again. read more

I took my two grandson to dinner on a weeknight. Because of their age we could not sit inside the bar area. There were a good number of open seats in the bar area and the tables. Even so, we had to wait 20 minutes for the table. Grandson's ordered pizza. Both said it was "ok". I noticed the crust was prepackaged and likely sourced from an outside supplier meaning it was not a unique crust. For an establishment that prominently places pizza on the menu, this was a sad discovery. I got the Philly steak sandwich and fries. I would give it two stars as the sandwich filling was dry and overcooked. Its obvious the filling was not cooked to order and sat in a hot pan for hours. Restaurants make money in the bar. Hopefully this is enough because the kitchen is not dishing up winners with that sandwich or pizza. read more

Ordered the Bison burger that they claim is seasoned when it tasted like beef from Publix, when i took a bight then stoped eating the server asked to take the dishes we were done with so i sent the appetiser plate and burger plate back then tried to get me to re order something but at this point i had no appetite so i said im good. Then she sends the manger or something over to the table to pressure me into getting something that i didn't want. Said yes to get her tf away from me and she gave me diarrhoea fish to go. When i say I'm done leave me be and don't bring management over unasked for like I'm bout to fight you over a mid burger. read more

Tbh, I'm not really sure why this place such great reviews. This was probably the worst place I've been to in a while. Fries were cold and hard and the cooks turn off the fryer 2 hours before closing, so they can't do most of their menu after 9pm. The kitchen refused to make a lot of the stuff and just wouldn't bring it out until we asked about. One person at our table never got their appetizer. I ordered a sandwich to-go around 9:45 and was told at 10:30 they can't do it after waiting. I don't know if this is just because this place is new but there are a lot of things that need to be improved. read more

The food is okay not anything to write home about. where the place shines is the front of the house specifically kay. Kay was very kind and sweet. she was very attentive to my needs and always made sure i was taken care of i never had to ask her for anything cause she was on top of it. if your able to be seated in her area id recommend asking for her you wont regret it. in a time where good service is severely lacking she provides a breath of fresh air read more

My friends and I came to try it out since it opened not too long ago. We all three ended up getting the chicken alfredo ( 2 blackened chicken & 1 regular) and they were very delicious. The waiter forgot to bring us our salads, but it didn't matter to us because the alfredo filled us up so fast! read more

Ate here for my son's birthday earlier in April. Food was good. Ambience was great. Waiter was friendly and our food came out relatively quick. The 4-star was because, after asking if the fish in the fish sandwich was whiting and not catfish, and being told that it was whiting, then finding out it was indeed catfish, was the reason for that rating. I must add that after calling and speaking with the manager, about the issue, he was very apologetic, understanding, and respectful. He was willing to make things right, and he did. I will definitely eat here again and recommend this place. read more

Very great food and amazing service by Sabrina!! I highly recommend and ask for her!! we will be back!

Last week we had a business dinner. Ordered the ribeye. Medium well. It was medium rare. And grisly. Clueless waiter. Manager looked about 14 and did not do what he said he'd do. Lousy experience. Will not go back. read more

Very loud and even after I asked that the TV behind me be turned down, it got louder. Food & drinks were 'ok'. Service was good, otherwise

Me and my family tried this restaurants, it had just open within that week, and of course the place was packed, nice atmosphere, TVs everywhere you turn. My chicken wings were delicious, they looked dry, but actually was good, and that ranch sauce was to die for, I could ate that, by itself......... but I would recommend this place if you just want to sit and enjoy your meal and watch something on tv. read more

I visited in Sunday night with my 2 friends. Liza was our bartender. She was amazing. We got our food hot, our drinks were fantastic and most of all the service was outstanding. Looked like all the bartenders were having fun taking care of guests while watching some great football. That is my idea of a sports bar and restaurant. Also Mo, who was the manager that night, came by and checked on us and asked us if we're having a great experience and we told him that the bar staff are incredible. We will be back. read more

I ordered two chicken tacos to go, and, although the service was satisfactory, the food was extremely disappointing. First, I received one chicken taco and one beef, which I did not order. The tacos contained very little meat, and the meats they did contain were mostly scraps, highly seasoned and cooked. The seasoning did not disguise that the meats were most inferior and inedible. It appeared that the meat I received was discards. The price was exorbitant for the extremely poor quality. Additionally, the lack curbside pickup is extremely disappointing. I will never recommend this establishment, nor will I return. read more

I have been to a few other Jonathan's locations, and this location is just as great as the others. Very extensive menu, and everything that I have tried has been so tasty! You can't go wrong with the fish and chips (I get mine blackened). Sweet potato fries are delicious as well! Try something different on the menu every time you go!! Great variety, good service, quality place! read more

Wait staff seemed to be uninterested in our visit. Love that extra Clift Farms tax, too!

Can't really say the food was horrible but I've had better. I had the 3 meat fajitas which the meats and veggies were perfectly cooked. They give you enough meat for five fajitas but yet they only give you enough cheese, sour cream, and salsa for one and a half. Add to this that there's no rice whatsoever offered with the fajitas which is strange. Our long haired hippie waiter seemed to disappear whenever a refill was needed and the coup de gras for a night of sh*tty service was attained when this same waiter comes and throws my glasses case which he mistook for a pot holder on a greasy food plate. And later he takes away the damned plate and I'm not completely finished eating!! Service was some of the worst I've ever had in a restaurant. A little over $47.00 for substandard fajitas for 2 and a waiter who genuinely acted like he could care less. If I were Johnathon I'd want to take a hard look at my product and especially my service and improve on both dramatically. I won't be back. read more
