This restaurant recently opened and is still experiencing growing pains. We stopped by for an early dinner and there was a 10-minute wait that was closer to 20 minutes. Once seated we waited for another 10 minutes before being served. Throughout our dinner, our waitress would disappear for extended periods. Big Whiskey's (BW) has a big diverse menu. I chose blackened Atlantic salmon. The fish was good but wasn't blackened like you would find in New Orleans. The wifey had chicken pasta, but the pasta was very oily and the chicken was tough. We considered a dessert, but after waiting for the waitress we were ready to go. I hope they get the kinks out and can hire more staff. read more

You need to Hope Cindy is at the bar for Happy Hour. She is excellent and the staff as a whole is very good. Cindy definitely takes pride in her work and the store itself. She tries awfully hard that u will return for another visit. Great happy hour and drink and food specials. The thing that they need to improve on is the price of the wings. Not a good value for what u pay and what u get. Out items are available and hopefully find something u like. With the happy hour food specials that may be all u need. read more

Food was very good. Excellent triple dip appetizer, and excellent bacon cheddar ranch burger. The buffalo chicken wrap and the BW nachos were both very good. The center cut sirloin was very average as it wasn't a very good cut of sirloin (too many inedible pieces). The green beans side was average. The baked potato was good. We arrived as the restaurant opened at 11:00am. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer. There was hardly any pickle flavor about this appetizer. The pickles were sliced longwise and very thin. My BIL had the Philly Cheesesteak that looked like a glorified Hot Pocket. I had wings that weren't bad, but by no means freshly prepared. We each had 2 beers. The total, before tip, was $100. *sigh* where do I start. CONS: Food was terrible. How do you make a brownie with ice cream and it's dry.....really dry...the ice cream couldn't even save it. I ordered a Cobb Salad....the lettuce was past acceptance. It was browning on the edges. The manager came to our table 'to explain' why the lettuce was brown....his explanation intersected between ..... mansplaining and gaslighting. He stated the arugula in the mix discolored the lettuce. ABSOLUTELY NOT, the lettuce was BROWN not MAROON, like arugula. My husband had the wings, with a bbq dry rub and ranch/blue cheese ..... he gave the wings a 3/10, the blue cheese/ranch were very very watery....bland they were so watered down. PRO: 1. Our waitress was a sweetheart and very attentive. Subpar food, lots of room for improvement. Maybe in a year we will try again, hopefully after they go through their growing pains. read more

The prices on the menu on THERE website are NOT what they charged- and let me tell you - def NOT food worth the price difference .. Beware of raw chicken wings!! Hopefully salmonella doesn't kick in. One waitress was very dismissive and tried explaining how there was no way they were under cooked. Another one came over and said they were definitely not eatable and took them back. This was all after they had brought the wrong food the first time. He at least tried to make things right and ended up not charging us for the wings but by this point we were over it. My advice... sit at the bar have some drinks or don't go at all. read more

This was my first time Visiting. our waitress was fine she was prompt. took our drink order. drink was wrong. bartender argued that it was correct. number 1 never argue with the one that pays you. simply make the drink again. then asked if I wanted something else to which I replied yes my appetizer to go and a check. should have not taken appetizer. so their loss I eat out more than in so no business from me if it had been a pleasant encounter or someone who actually gave a damn about the customer all would be good but the bartender has her ass up on her shoulders and lost the company business because as they say good experience you tell one person a bad you tell 10. guess what I will tell everyone I know yeah a bit of an overachiever. read more

The service is almost non existent. From the time we walked in, the staff appeared to not know what was going on. We waited a while at the bar, without being greeted, to order a drink. When we were finally greeted, the waitress from the bar told us she was on break prior. Very, very slow. This place really needs to get it together. read more

We went to see the Packer game. Don't go if you want to see a sports event. The staff doesn't know how to work the tv. They asked us what channel the game was on. They called someone to figure out how to access NFL Sunday ticket. They finally got the game on, a split screen with the Baltimore game. We say 1 drive, then the split screen was gone and only the Baltimore game remained. The staff didn't know how to get the Green Bay game back. The food was good. I had the glazed salmon. Salmon was moist & the glaze was very good. The chef even made the broccoli taste good, I usually find broccoli bland. But I had asked for mashed potatoes instead of rice, but was served rice anyway. When I said I ordered potatoes, they brought pan fried potatoes. Took 3 tries to get mashed potatoes, but I did finally get them. They were tasty, but too dry. read more

Our server had such a great personality and was really great at suggesting items on the menu. The parking lot was packed on a Friday, but only estimated a 15 minute wait. It was even quicker than that to be seated. We arrived at the end of happy hour. Drinks were delicious. We had two appetizers. A pretzel and the spinach queso dip. So so awesome! We will be back soon! With the remodel of an old restaurant I expected very little inside, but it's decorated so nice. Feels a bit nicer, but not with the big price tag. read more

The hamburger was very dry and overcooked. The manager apologized recooked the burger and removed the charge from our bill. Those sitting around us also had long waits for their order. The misses and I frequent many restaurants here in Huntsville so we're able to compare. We were greeted courteously and got a booth quickly. Our waitress was friendly and professional. Next and most importantly the food. We ordered the boom boom shrimp for an appetizer. It was good and fresh but didn't have quite the zing and crunch you get from some of the other restaurants. The misses had bourbon salmon. Again it was fresh but tasted (I had a bite) slightly fishy and the bourbon sauce was not glazed nor cooked in. I had the chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun. The chicken was fried in a weird batter which was slightly tasteless but was again fresh. My onion rings were the best I've ever had. Not greasy nor over r undercooked. It was a decent dinning experience but not quite as good as some of the other restaurants in this price range. read more

First time there. There was a lunch crowd so had to wait 15 plus minutes at noon for a seat. Got seated. Waiter was a bit slow with the arrival and drink order. Got settled finally. Order the BW BBQ burger and buddy ordered the glazed pork chops. Food came before the water did. I also order the Strawberry Hill to go for GF girlfriend. Too early to tell if that was good. Pork chop was good with mashed potatoes and veggies. My burger was a disaster. Not much flavor and it was so dry it was a "fire hazard". I had to use ketchup to moisten it up. The couple next to us had a burger also which was also dry and flavorless she said. It was a different one. Food was a bit pricey considering. The establishment was clean and had a sports bar vibe to it. The staff were new and very rusty for the lunch rush. Probably needed more staffing with experienced staff. This place is only 2 weeks old in the area and if it doesn't noticeably get better, it will not make it. read more

Big Whiskey, Big Fail. My wife and I visited the new location in Madison, AL yesterday. From the minute we walked in RED FLAGS began flying and we should have turned around and left. The floor of the entire Restaurant was slick as grease. Not sure what was all over the floor but we and the couple in front of us almost fell. The hostess said "Be careful, floor is slick." and then walked us to the table where we had to hang on to the walls to keep from falling. Then they sat us at a booth that apparently was built for Edith Ann. The seat had no padding and sank in so bad the table was almost in your face. We ordered Tea while we looked at the menu. We got the tea and they took our order. It took a while so my wife and I played table football until the food came. Score was 36-26. When it finally came out the server hit my Tea glass and covered me with tea and ice. I was soaked from chest to toe. My iPhone was soaked. I got up and moved to the other side of the table with my wife while they cleaned up everything. The server came out and apologized. No Manager ever came over and no one asked if I was okay or sorry we ruined your shirt (which was a College Football golf shirt that cost me $60). I was mad and I didn't even eat. Lost my appetite. I carried the meal home. We got ready to leave and a lady brought the check to the table and said I gave you a discount. THEY CHARGED ME FOR EVERYTHING BUT THE TEA!!!!!!!!! WTH? Just piss poor customer service and no concern for consumer safety. NOT AGAIN. read more
