Wings (Mango Habanero) & Fries
Netta M.

The food was hot and very flavorful. I like the size of their split wings. They aren't too big (like whole chicken pieces) or too small like some places. I ordered online and waited about 10 minutes to receive it after the anticipated ready time.

I came in with a smile to my face to watch both workers at the counter, just stare at me. The young lady took my order who seemed slightly irritated from the start. I asked her if I could have a chicken Philly with mustard, American cheese and pickle only she told me that no pickles can be added to my Philly steak and then asked if it could be given to me on the side, she replied no. I told her o would pay the extra if I cooks please but She told me no I can only have pickles on the burger. ... that's not true. If look at the menu, you can even get pickles on your salad, but apparently she did not want to allow me to get the damn pickles on my sandwich this evening. I should have just left because she kept asking me is that all is that all as if I was imposing on her. I came to this place based upon the reviews and the recommendations from coworkers, even though I have not tasted the food I am certain based upon the customer service experience I will not be back. I will say despite the activity of flies. They do have a 93 food score.... So yay!

Sloppy fries with the 10 whole wings combo $17.99

MK Wings does what needs to be done. This was my first time here and I'd definitely return. I'm typically giving wing places a side eye because the wings are over cooked or like those gross Dominos wings from their commercialized pizza ovens. I got 10 whole lemon pepper wings and not only were they cooked perfectly, but there was an abundance of seasoning, which I love. I also got sloppy fries--fries with Buffalo sauce and ranch. Those were ok, although I though a bit soggy. I'd have wanted the fries cooked a bit crispier then sauced. Customer service was very friendly. Place was clean. The fountain soda was not carbonated, so I dunno if the machine was just broken or what but I wouldn't bother with it.

3 tender meal with fries. Large portions.

Tried this place out on Wednesday for lunch since it's nearby. I saw a lot of good reviews, and I do have some nice things to say, but overall, at least food-wise (which is most important to me), I wasn't impressed at all. The parking lot is a little cramped and hard to navigate and has seen better days, so be careful parking and pulling in/out. The inside of this restaurant looked very, very clean, which was nice. It was more spacious than I'd thought it would be, though no one was eating there when I walked in. Service took a short time to appear after I walked in, and it seemed like just one woman running the show - she took my order and payment and then went to the back to make my food. She was very warm and friendly and took care to package my meal nicely. Service and interior were both good! The food, sadly, really wasn't. Granted, this is decidedly a wing place -- and I didn't get wings. So maybe that's on me. I ordered a 3 chicken finger plate, which came with fries and a can of soda for about $10. Not a bad price at all for the amount of food - certainly heaps of fries, and fairly large tenders. The crinkle fries were the better item -- they were clearly freshly fried, at least, though I'm sure they were previously frozen. They had the absolute faintest dusting of fry seasoning on them (think zaxby's) but it was so light that you could only taste it on maybe 1 out of every 7 fries. On the bright side, they were super hot and crispy, which helped negate the lack of flavor. The ranch dipping sauce I was given was thick, gloopy, very vinegary ranch, which I don't like. As for the tenders themselves...also, I suspect, frozen then fried. Not very crunchy breading. Tender was super hard when biting into it, such that I had to pull some meat off with my fingers for a first bite. When I tasted it, my first bite was my last. Super tough, and just an overwhelmingly WEIRD flavor. It's sadly indescribable for me, but suffice it to say it was weird in an unpleasant way. I couldn't even eat that one bite, it was that weird. Not heinously bad, exactly, but just strange. Since I don't really eat wings or fish much and the tenders weren't good, I likely won't be back. Sincere props to the clean dining room and pleasant service, though.

Don't order the Philly Cheese steak. This sandwich was all bread and basically no steak and it's the size of a regular hotdog.

Mind you it's an hour drive from my house and it is WORTH IT!! I get a craving for these wings and have to go back. Btw I usually don't like wings. These just hit different!!! Even though I always order the 6 piece I get 7 wings. It's an added lil bonus The restaurant itself is very small inside so I recommend ordering online and picking up or eating outside at one of the many tables. The workers have always been patient while I look at the menu and pleasant to speak with. Perfectly crisp. Not traditional Korean fried okra but definitely worth getting. Now to the cheese corn. WOW! I've never had anything like it. Corn in a creamy sauce (don't think creamed corn) topped with a thick layer of bubbling cheese. There was a little burned cheese down the edges of the container - can't get better than that. We shared 5 tenders and two sides and still brought home half of the okra. It did take awhile to get our food - we were the only ones there. I can't imagine how long you'll wait on a busy evening. Next time you're visiting Stovehouse, definitely give them a try!

My Sorority Sister and I went there after my hair appointment around the corner. Last time I was here, my group of sorority sisters enjoyed their house made BBQ chips, Montreal poutine, Asian ribs, and fries. The poutine and ribs were bit hits for our group of four. I recall the giant pretzel I had on my visit here with my coworkers. It came with the bro jo beer cheese dip that I recall being delicious and my Sister and I decided to order the Bacon Wrapped Pretzel Bites app., which is described as "bite-sized pretzel pieces wrapped in bacon with hot honey and bro jo cheese sauce." I typically don't like sweet anything, and I did not care for the "hot honey." If you don't care for sweet either, ask for the sauce on the side. As it was I could sort of cover the sweetness of the honey sauce with the cheese dip. The bacon was cooked well and managed to stay crispy, which was good! We split the Cheesesteak sandwich described as "thinly sliced grilled ribeye, sauteed onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms in melty white American cheese served on a toasted hoagie roll with a choice of side." We went with fries as the side and 86d the mushrooms. Thank goodness for the fries, which were good! This sandwich was a crime against sandwiches! If you've ever had the unfortunate experience of eating Steak-umms, then you know what I'm talking about! I think Ale's Kitchen86d all the toppings except the cheese so we had basically Steak-umm "meat" and some cheese. Ale's Kitchen is in a brewery, Straight to Ale, and I'm happy they do offer two wines: a chardonnay and a red blend. I again had the chardonnay which was, as I recalled from the last visit, flavorless. The staff were friendly, efficient, answered questions, ensured we had everything we needed, were overall kind, and our orders were promptly prepared and delivered to our table. The restrooms were clean!

We were served a giant grilled chicken sandwich. It looked delish. That was our bad too. The chicken looked like it had seasoning on it, maybe it was just crud from the grill, but this was definitely an unseasoned piece of chicken. We both ordered grilled mushrooms and onions. Those didn't even help the flavor. We moved on to honey mustard, trying to save the sandwich. Unfortunately, the sauce did nothing but make the bun fall apart. We now had a flavorless mess to deal with - eat it or trash it. My husband chose "eat it" because he hates to see food wasted. He complained with almost every bite. I chose "trash it" - I'm too old to eat things I don't like. There were numerous sides available - fries, tots, o-rings, cheese curds and fried pickles. We opted for the rings to share. For just over $4, we received 6 onion rings. They weren't anything special at all - just a rip-off. My husband and I have gotten into the habit of rating every meal - luckily he's generous with the stars when I'm cooking! We had waffled a little but decided on a three. That's until we went to the restroom to wash our hands. The woman's room obviously hadn't had a good, deep cleaning in quite some time. It's beyond the point of a couple paper towels and a bottle of windex. My husband said the men's room wasn't the best either. That three stars suddenly became a hard 2. Wayback Burgers is convenient for us, their loyalty program is pretty straightforward and coupons are not too difficult to find. Unfortunately, the food and cleanliness just made all of those positives nill.

Highly recommended, tart with a little sweetness and kick. For apps I went with the crawfish and shrimp cake and smoked chicken wings. The crawfish and shrimp cakes are a great idea. The fry was great on the cake. The flavor was a little lost. I thought initially it was the tartar that overpowered the cake and that is partially true. I did try a bite without the tartar and it was still a tad on the bland side. The wings had a great fry and smoke flavor as well. They were a bit overcooked and dry. The Alabama sauce was real good and added needed moisture to the wings. The breading appeared to be fairly heavy, ie the bread to meat ratio was on the bread side. The service was good and very fast, there were just some execution challenges for the food. The menu is real interesting and I'm willing to try some of the other offerings on another visit.

I decided to give it another shot. Saturday night, 6pm and the restaurant was nearly empty. I asked for a gluten free menu. They didn't have one. But what they had was even better. Emma, our server, went through every menu item and told me what was safe, what could be modified and what to stay away from. Her knowledge of the menu was stellar and something that's lacking in most restaurants. One of my hang ups during my last visit was being served an old fashioned when I ordered a Sazerac. I asked Emma, who apologized as she told me they were out of absinthe. She not only knew the food menu but also the drink menu. Emma, you are a light in a dining arena full of mediocre. I ordered the scallops and risotto. The plate arrived with 4 large scallops. It's not uncommon for large scallops to be gummy with a soapy, not sweet flavor. My scallops were the exact opposite. They were perfect. The creamy, slightly sweet/slightly salty risotto was the perfect accompaniment. The accompanying broccolini was a miss - it was extremely bitter. Unpleasantly so. My husband had the pot roast ragout. He said it was alright - everything was hot but the potatoes. They were cold - he said it threw him off and just wasn't very enjoyable. He did enjoy the cheese biscuits and the bit of mine that I was willing to share. One way I judge a restaurant is by whether I'd come back. I posed that question to him. He said it was worth another try. Service was on point - Emma was a rock star in my book. The wine and beer were at a perfect temperature and the wine pour was generous. Co/Op is in the Embassy Suites. Parking was easy and free tonight; but, depending on what's going on in town, you can't count on that. Two entrees, two drinks and tip was upward of $120. Expensive? Yes, but the scallops and service were so good that I didn't even blink. Will I be back? Undoubtably.
