This place came highly recommended for authentic burgers and fries. From the outside it may look a bit shabby, tucked away on a corner, but step inside and you'll find a cosy atmosphere--and long queues that say it all. The burgers were huge and tasted fantastic, and the fries came in generous portions. The kids especially enjoyed a proper Sunday meal that didn't feel mass-produced, but rather locally made with care. Service is counter-based, so there isn't much to comment on there--you order and pick up yourself. Bottom line: big portions, great taste, and a very satisfied family. We would happily go back again and again!
Instagram really sells this place. I was excited to try Jon's joint but left underwhelmed. Walked in on a Saturday Afternoon and the wait time wasn't long at all. I talked to the cashier and he advised I get the #1 Classic. Even told me I wouldn't be disappointed. I took him up on his offer. I added the combo for $5. I must say, $2 for a can soda is NUTS. My food came out and everything was hot. They give a large serving of fries which was a plus. They have old bay seasoning on the counter which definitely gave the fries some flavor. Onto the burger. Extremely fat patty on a tiny potato bread bun. The patty is so big and flat that it was kinda dried out. The bacon was solid. Overall it's a decent experience but not worth the hype at all. I see why this place is a tiny whole in the wall with limited signage.
Absolutely loved this place best Smashburger I've had in a long time!!! my favorites were the classic and the juicy Lucy. I also really liked the spicy jalapeño burger. Fries were also incredible and service was super friendly. Hope to return soon!
Decent smash burger but not my favorite in the area. I ordered the Classic (standard with American cheddar, lettuce, onion, tomato - hold the sauce). The patty is a bit thin and flattened a bit too much - it was the size of a pancake and overtook my tiny bun! And the way they smashed it made the meat a tad dry. The toppings seemed to be an afterthought and smeared on there. The price isn't bad for a burger at $8.95, and if you level up to a combo, you get a drink and fries. Fries were soft and unsalted. I had to douse it with old bay and malted vinegar for extra flavor. My partner ordered a chocolate shake that came with whipped cream and stripes of chocolate syrup, which was tasty! The service staff seemed disconnected and pushed for us to order faster. The night we went they were playing a UFC fight on pay per view, and a whole slew of guys came to watch with the TV turned up pretty loud. Seems cool if you're going out with the guys. But pretty loud and hard to chat, if you're looking for place to catch up with friends while eating (which was what I was doing). My favorite smash burger is still Joia burger in the city. But this will do if you're in Arlington!
Visiting a restaurant for the first time and having a great experience is fine, but consistency is what really matters. I went to Jon's Joint recently and decided to dine it to see what that experience was like. I ordered the OKC burger combo and it was just as fantastic as the first time I had it. - juicy and well seasoned beef with crispy pillowy fries. You can tell that they've improved their packaging with their own branding. There was plenty of seating. The service could be a bit friendlier but I'm willing to accept kind of a cold presence from the person taking my order in exchange for great food. All that to say that Jon's Joint is my go to burger spot in the area.
Been craving a smashburger and wanted to try this place out. Saw something in Instagram that was mouth watering. Knew my next post office visit would weaken my will power. So glad it weakened. I got a single without a pickle. And a side of fries. It was perfect!!! Oh so good. Maybe next time I'll try the double. Fries were crispy and good too. I just got water with it and not the combo with soda which is the same price (I don't drink soda). There is a wait as they make everything fresh. But worth the wait! Tables were clean. Place had a steady turnover. Loved the decor. Will definitely return!!! Next PO trip!
Solid food. Service is fair, and the setting is like a hole-in-the-wall burger joint. Not a bad thing. And great for hanging with friends. You'll order at the counter, with tables to eat at. I ordered the OKC burger. Decent for an Oklahoma burger, but could use a little more char in my opinion. My son had the smash over fries, which he enjoyed. And my wife the jalapeño burger. All in all worth checking out.
Came in @5:45pm after work. The place was bustling. There was a steady flow of patrons while we were dining in. Plenty of seating for dining in. The place isn't quite divvy but it's teetering. Aroma of was strong, to me. Maybe it's the grilled smash burgers. SO didn't smell anything. First time here so I had a few questions and they were promptly answered before we placed our order and grabbed a table. I ordered a single patty OKC and customized it with cheddar cheese, pickled jalapeños, beef bacon and house made sauce in the side. SO ordered a three patty Juicy Lucy, no customization.We both agreed the patties and fries needed seasoning but we liked the texture of the house ground patties. Would have also liked bibb lettuce opposed to shredded. Ingredients were fresh. The beef bacon was good but the fat wasn't rendered out enough so it was chewy not crispy. We left smelling like the grill, smokey...not pleasant on the drive home.
Solid smash burgers!! I had a craving for a burger so came by with my boyfriend. We each got their classic smashburgers and shared their loaded chicken fries. We agreed the burgers were probably the best we've had in the area. Next time I'll definitely try their jalapeno one. The fries were good and definitely worth it for all the chicken they put on it. A little pricey but would still get again. Service was okay, friendly enough. Ambiance is super casual. Probably more of a takeout spot but they do have casual seating.
Walked in on a Saturday around 5pm, only one person in line but as I waited for my food about ten people came in. Ordered 3 burgers, one as a combo for $5 which includes fries and a can soda. The fries were big enough to share in my opinion. Also ordered the smash over fries which was fantastic. The toppings were well spread out and layered so every bite was equally good. It's located on the corner, next to townhouses, with plenty of parking. Aesthetic is retro but simple, its giving family owned. I think it's owned by two friends or brothers?!
TL;DR: Spectacular smash burgers and other halal eats like loaded fries. Jon's Joint is a newer restaurant serving up halal eats including their specialty, smash burgers. They also have other items such as chicken sandwiches and loaded fries. Food: Smash burgers--You can custom order your own smash burger or get one of their specials. I tried the Juicy Lucy which was stuffed with cheddar cheese, and true to its name, was super juicy. I also had the Jalapeño Burger which had a TON of jalapeños and wasn't overly spicy. Loaded fries--Seriously loaded! They come smothered in their house sauce and a cheese sauce. I added a chopped smash burger. Would def get again! Vibes: Chill and easy-going. Lots of places to sit inside if you dine-in. Parking: There's a few spots out front. Parking wasn't an issue.
I loved all the pop culture art and decor & they were playing a great alt rock playlist! With only a line of like 10 people ahead of us, it took nearly 40 minutes to get our food. The actual beef patties were very good and it's halal beef. We also tried the loaded fries and an Oreo shake - I'd skip on the loaded fries next time but the portion was huge. Oreo shake was pretty good too.
FOOD I had their juicy Lucy, and my boyfriend tried their jalapeño burger-- each with a side of fries and a soda for an additional $5. Both burgers were delicious, though we were glad to have gotten the double patty as a single would have been quite small in ratio with the buns and onions. The fries were also a bit of a letdown as they got soggy/stale quite quickly. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly, and the burgers are made to order. Condiments are available by the soda fridge and include mustard, mayo, ketchup, BBQ sauce, and hot sauces. A bathroom is available inside the store. AMBIANCE Ample seating is available inside the store with tables for 2-4. PARKING Limited parking is available in front of the store that is shared with the neighboring CVS. Side parking is reserved for residents of the nearby apartment complex.
Got the triple classic, fries and can soda. $25 plus tip. Burger was fine. It's smash burger style so not much meat to it. Bun couldn't hold up. Fries were standard but hot and tasty. Prob wouldn't go back - Broiler is down the street, better food for less $$. read more
It's good but not a value proposition. Taste wise a 4. Value a 1. You have to eat 4 singles to feel full. Eating anything more than that would be a detriment to your mortgage/rent. I didn't try the fries so I'm not commenting on that. But super small sized Sammie's. Equals: no real value. You could smash these at home there wasn't any real difference in seasoning besides S&P. CHEAT DAY MUST! Pure deliciousness on a Martin's potato bun. Fast service and fresh, tasty food. I had the jalapeño burger with fries- my mouth is full of flavor. The fries are served hot and crispy. The restaurant is small but decorated cute. My favorite cheat day or hangover meal:) read more

Ordered the classic double burger with grilled onions combo. Fries portion was plenty and the burger was a good size and tasty. The food came out quick, the beef was cooked to the right temperature, and the house sauce was delicious. Definitely worth another visit. It is a low key casual spot. Service was fine. Parking is hard to find and it's a low key spot. read more
I heard about this place and finally made my way to stop. A small place but the vibes were great. I got the classic single and you know a burger is great because it does not need that many toppings. I think it was distracting and if I got it again I would get the OKC burger. I tried the jalapeño burger and that was better than the classic. This is probably the best smashburger I have had in the DMV, in the conversation for best burger in the DMV. The fries were solid and the kitkat shake was ok but I would prefer oreo. I don't even like burgers...but this is a 10/10! The texture and flavor is delicious! It's a small burger spot with a cool retro type of feel if you decide to dine in. It's nothing big to write home about but for an in and out experience...it works. Service was quick standard and straight to the point. I will definitely be back? read more
Jon's Joint is a very good smash burger experience. The setting on the inside is very casual with vibrant and creative pop culture art. You can tell the food is made with fresh ingredients. Especially the beef. The smash burger quality is very consistent. Although the takeout operation is very good, I recommend dining in for a much better experience with a high quality burger. I also recommend the double patty because the single, in my opinion, is just too small. My only disappointment here is the inconsistent cook on the fries. Again, dining in might be the difference. Virtually, every time I order fries to-go, they are overcooked. As a quality control measure, I've always consumed my to-go order in the car, outside of the restaurant, immediately. Note: on Fridays and weekends the inside gets packed, so I eat in the car. However, the fries were perfect when I dined in. Overall a very good experience and I will continue to prioritize this place for my smash burger fix. read more
This generated a lot of hype on social media but I gotta say, it's not worth the hype. The burger is small and even though they warned me against just 1 patty, it's expensive for what it is. Sure the patties are crispy, but aside from that, it's not too different for a normal burger. I paid nearly $12 for this single patty burger and waited over half an hour to get my burger. At first I thought it was because they were just wrapping up a large party ahead of us, but it seems to be a normal occurrence from the other reviews here. The place has some cool retro posters and signs, but they could use a couple more tables. Overall, not really worth it. read more

Decided to stop here after work for some eats, here are the details! It's located right beside a pharmacy and they shared a parking lot, so parking wasn't an issue for me. The ambiance is pretty no frills, think a classic burger joint. I honestly like it, gave me nostalgic vibes . But let's get into it! First things first, I consider myself a burger connoisseur! I love a great, well made, flavorful burger situation. I had heard good things about this place but of course had to check it out for myself. I was in a hurry to get home so decided to have my meal to-go, so my notes on service are that my meal was ready in a timely manner and the staff was very, very friendly and welcoming. The cashier was very knowledgeable about the menu(sorry, forgot the gentleman's name) and when I told him what I liked in a burger, he gave me the suggestion to try the #3 Lucy's Combo (double patties) w/ straight-cut fries. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! So this burger comes with grilled onions on top (shown in pics) which is something I always love. They were perfectly grilled and a great compliment to this burger. But something else really interesting about this was that with the Lucy, there is cheese actually inside of the patty! I was skeptical at first but kept an open mind and I'm really glad I did. This was absolutely delicious. The only thing to be careful about if you're extra sensitive to sodium is that because the cheese is inside, it's probably a bit more salty than the normal burger. But in my opinion it's not off putting at all. The patties were perfectly cooked and flavorful, just the right amount of mayo, my burger was piping hot and fresh, and it felt like I really got a food experience here! The only thing I'll say that can be improved here is the size of the buns they use for this mammoth of a burger. The buns were on the smaller side so it was a little hard to hold (especially since it was so hot) . So I think if they use slightly larger buns this would be the perfect situation. The fries were perfect as well, fresh and just the right amount of seasoning. I also had a Mango milkshake (sorry, not pictured) and my goodness. Run, don't walk! Overall this is definitely one of the best burgers I've had in the area and I'll be back soon! read more

I think overall this place was just alright. Burgers felt a bit too greasy and there are other better smashburgers in the DMV that I would prefer to go back to. The restaurant is in a bit of a sketchy area so didn't feel the best. Fast and friendly service. Interesting decor but won't be back. read more
Excellent smash burger, juicy, fresh, piping hot and melty cheese. Well seasoned and carefully charred onions made this more of a homemade taste. The bun was nice and soft like a potato roll should be, though I recommend eating it in house as it could get soggy. The fries tasted fresh cut, and perfectly crispy. There isn't much parking and the coziness of the place would be crowded, but a good burger joint will have all the right condiments as they did. Readily available mayo, ketchup, mustard and salt n pepper shakers. A nice addition is the old bay, which I seasoned my fries with. The service was exceptionally quick, as I was behind one person in the order line. The decor was spectacular as it had a lot of retro vibes as well as urban art. I will say that this has the potential to expand very fast and they serve halal beef bacon! read more

I usually stick to healthier meals, but it was cheat day so I dropped by this hole in the wall smash burger spot on Glebe Rd. I ordered the #5 Jalapeño Burger with two patties and made it a meal for an extra $5. The food came out relatively fast. The burger was on potato bread and, while not the sexiest looking burger, it hit the spot. The pepper jack cheese was a nice touch, and the spice level was just right - not overpowering. It was a bit oily turning the wrapping paper translucent which was a bit much. But hey, it's cheat day. The fries were hottt. Clearly fresh out the fryer. Honestly, they tasted better after I got home and let them cool a bit. Nice touch with the Old Bay shaker at the self serve counter along with malt vinegar if you're into that. Fries were solid. Next time I'm in the mood for a smash burger, I'll probably try the Juicy Lucy - recommended by the cashier and stuffed with cheddar cheese inside the patty. Overall, it's exactly what you'd want from a no-frills burger joint. Greasy, flavorful and fast. read more

Super cool interior with fun artwork and some seating available. Was pretty packed when we went in so we took our food to go! One of the best burgers I've had so far in the area!! Perfectly smashed with crispy edges. Love the spicy house sauce too. Fries were nice and crispy! Love this spot!! read more

I've been here twice. The first time I ate there & the second time I got food for takeout. The food overall is good. Eating it there is a better option. When I got it for takeout, it wasn't as good. I'm unsure if it's because the food was not as warm or just that day the food wasn't as tasty. I do recall when I got the food for takeout only one person was working, so unsure if that has anything to do with the quality of the food. The ambiance at the restaurant itself is very chill. I like the decor. I think they'd benefit from having some lunch specials and more variety of drinks (non alcoholic). read more

I wasn't even in the mood for a burger but thought I'd get five guys, but decided to try this place out. So glad I did! The burger is surprisingly much better than expected. The beef is actually seasoned amazingly without doing too much and the char grilled on the Pattie is yummy. It's not one of those burger spots that's only good because of the condiments and sauces on the burger, it is actually really good. So good next time I come here I am curious to try their chicken sandwiches! read more

I heard great things about this place so I came to check it out. The front of the store isnt very recognizable. I have definitely passed by the location many times and I didnt even notice it was there! When I got inside, the staff were very nice and friendly, they told me they hope I enjoy the food, and yes I did. I got the OKC Burger - and what I really loved about this burger was that it wasnt a greasy smash burger at all, it was fresh and very flavorful with not alot of grease if at all. Im glad they have Old Bay on the side as a seasoning for us DMV natives. We love putting Old Bay on our fries! I will be coming back, this is a great spot. I very much enjoyed. read more
