It's easy to drive by this place. It has a small parking lot and a neon green sign. It's worth a try as the food is good and it's a busy trendy place. The Spicy Fusilli was the stand out. The Gem Salad was good too. The Cavatelli and Roman Gladiator pizza were good, but I probably wouldn't get those again. It's small and modern with clean light wooden booths. There's also a heated patio with booths too. Reservations recommended. The service was friendly and fast.

Food service was good. Pizza was decent. For the price, there are better places in LA. It was a good one time experience for us.

Good food, was easy to get something dairy free and chill outdoor seating. Good service, enjoyed the staff.

Jon & Vinny's is one of those classic LA Italian spots. Consistently good, a nice ambience, but a little pricey. I went to the Slauson location on this occasion. What we ordered: 1. The Brooklyn dodger pizza - fabulously garlicky and with the slightest hint of basil. Huge fan of neopolitan pizzas, so Jon & Vinny's pizzas really hit the spot for me. Loved that they kept the sauce light, and the crust was amazing. 2. Broccolini pasta - so refreshing yet satisfying. Love a good pasta that doesn't rely on a meat sauce. 3. Spicy fusilli - a classic. Hearty and satisfying.

Went here for a weeknight birthday dinner. Reservations and parking were easy to get on the earlier side (6-6:30). After that parking and tables are harder to catch. We tried the gem salad (delicious!), pasta limone (fantastic), meatballs (must get), steak (solid), and two pizzas (good). Desserts were also crave-able - tiramisu and soft serve. Enjoy casual vibes inside with a solid hip hop playlist.

Such a great experience! All of the food was fresh and delicious. My favorite was the radiatori pesto! I also loved coloring!

We love a business that not only serves great food, but also does great work within the community. Found out about this place through SZA's not charity initiative . I was fortunate to be able to try their Brooklyn dodger pizza which is basically a margarita pizza that is extremely delicious!!! I'm a big fan of Il Fornaio's margarita pizza but this might be my new favorite . To note with Il Fornaio's Margarita I always have to add extra basil and extra oregano but with this pizza, it was perfect without any modifications especially with the thinly sliced garlic. That comes with it . I'm so glad to have found this place as it's it's more local to me !! Check them out !

Servers were great , they put us outside bc we just walked in was cold but they had heaters that we had them turn up so it was fine, kid friendly my son colored while we waited for his food and the food was fresh and good.

Pizza making class

The pizza making classes are fun and perfect for a medium sized group! My coworkers and I all attended a fun pizza making class here where we all got to make our own pizza complete with a tutorial and all the standard fixins :) Overall it was a great experience - our instructor was kind/patient and walked us all through how to spread out and toss the dough into the pizza shape. They provided an array of different topping options from different types of cheeses (mozzarella, smoked mozzarella, ricotta) to meats and veggies. They also brought out homemade ranch and buffalo sauce for us to use as sauces. Both were a big hit among the group and I especially liked the ranch a lot. The whole process took about 3 hrs but that also included wine, appetizers, and dessert for our group. I really enjoyed the pizza I made and it was fun seeing everyone's pizza come out the oven. The desserts were also very good (the tiramisu was my favorite). One thing I noticed about the cannoli was that they don't fully fill the inside in the middle with cream. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of if you want a nice stuffed cannoli. The only downside is that the class takes place outdoors in their parking lot and there are no chairs to sit after you make your pizza. It can get cold at night so make sure to bring a jacket. The parking can also be tough here since the lot is very small but there is some neighborhood parking behind the restaurant, just make sure you read the signs.

Went here last night for a friend's bday dinner. We ordered a wine bottle, where we noticed there was $50 corkage fee. Crazy work. We made a reservation and were sat down immediately when our party arrived. We ordered a gem lettuce salad for appetizer and the ricotta honey bread, which wasnt what i was expecting, it was just okay. Then we ordered a roman gladiator pizza which was also okay and i think my favorite dish of the night was the spicy fusili. For dessert, we were suggested the strawberry shortcake which was okay. Our server was great, she was attentive along with the server that was training with her, the place wasnt too busy on a Wed night and I appreciate the parking situation greatly. We sat inside the restaurant, i noticed they had outdoor seating, and it was uncomfortably hot inside. I think another guest complained because eventually they turned the A/C on. Overall, it was a good experience and I would be interested in trying different foods. I did mention we were celebrating a birthday and they brought out soft serve with a candle and free cookies which was really nice of them. I appreciate that thoughtfulness.

So when I saw Jon & Vinny's opening in Windsor, it immediately felt like another sign of the gentrification happening in the area, so I was definitely curious about what the experience would be like. The ambiance was decent, though the music felt very intentionally curated for the neighborhood, which was a bit funny to notice. The menu is pricey, nearly $30 for a pizza, with sauces costing extra. The food itself was decent, but the service was poor. Overall, this will probably be a one-and-done for me

I've been to several Jon & Vinny's locations, and one thing that remains consistent at every location is their good service and quality ingredients! I've tried their Spicy Vodka Fusilli, Rigatoni Bolognese, Gem Salad, and Brooklyn Dodger Pizza. The Gem Salad was very filling and its portion definitely makes the dish shareable. The calabrian chili dressing gives it a nice kick, and the lettuce tasted fresh. I love how the pizza has a crispy crust and each slice had immense flavor from the basil tomato sauce and the mozzarella cheese. In my opinion, the Rigatoni stood out WAY more than the spicy vodka fusilli. The beef was nicely seasoned and the pasta was cooked al dente. The fusilli had a nice spice, but I wish they had the option to add meat to it. (No substitutions for all their dishes). For the price, I also do wish the pasta dishes had a bigger portion! Parking is convenient, and it's always easy to get a reservation on the day of at any of their locations. You have the option to either sit at the bar, booth, or a table. Food comes out within 10-15 minutes of ordering. All in all, huge fan of Jon and Vinny's!

Can any of the pizzas/pasta be made vegan without the cheese?

Yes

If they charge a 18% service charge for equitable wages, do I need to leave a tip?

It's up to you, but they tell you that the 18% is a service fee and NOT a tip, so yes, technically you should tip on top of that, but the way they calculate the "tip" is on the amount WITH the service fee, so it's compounded! Ridiculous. Just raise… Read more

My son and I sat outside but waited about an hour the hosts were really nice from what I recall and her makeup was super cute and different I recall giving her a compliment about it because it was purple and it was adorable. Anyways back to the food my son ate his pasta so thats safe to say that it's Child Approved since I have such a hard time finding something he loves he's a inner foodie too like me hereditary of course. We had the Caesar Salad which was delicious I would alter how much dressing or salt there was but I'll do that on the side next time. The garlic cheese bread was phenomenal we both loved it. Lastly both pasta's that I recall were perfect and cannot wait to return hopefully with a reservation ahead of time to skip the wait. Overall service was amazing and I see why people keep coming back

The only…read moredownside was we had a reservation and still waited about 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, which was pretty frustrating. Thankfully, we grabbed some wine while we waited, so that definitely helped the time go by a little faster. The ambiance was really cute with moody lighting that gave the restaurant a cozy vibe. For starters, we ordered the mozzarella sticks, cheesy bread, Caesar salad, meatballs and ricotta, and a buffalo wing special they were offering. The wings were delicious. We even tried ordering a second round, but they had already sold out. At first they also told us they were out of mozzarella sticks, but later came back and said they found one last order available if we still wanted it. I've never really experienced a restaurant running out of a few basic menu items that early in the evening, so that was a little odd. For entrees, we had the chicken parmesan, crab pasta, milanese, and the alla vodka pasta. Everything was solid except the alla vodka. Personally, I wouldn't order that one again because the flavor reminded me a little too much of Chef Boyardee. Even with the wait and a few menu hiccups, I'd still give this place another try because the service was genuinely good. The manager came by and introduced himself, which I appreciated, and our server Esma was super sweet and attentive throughout the night. Next time I'd probably book an earlier reservation and see if the seating experience goes a little smoother.

They have a limited selection of square and round slices but then a more extensive menu for entire pizzas. I got the acapulco gold and vodka square slice and then also a pepperoni vodka thin slice. The flavor of the vodka square slice was really good. The vodka sauce is rich and creamy and definitely packs a punch. The rest of the slice is covered in herbs and cheese, and they also put some fresh basil leaves on top which is great bc you can smell the basil as you take bites in addition to the great basil flavor. The texture of the thick crust itself wasn't stellar for my vodka square slice the way that it was for the acapulco gold but I think the flavor makes up for it. The acapulco gold is also a good flavor balance between the creamy cheese and arugula on top. The pepperoni vodka slice is very tasty but I feel like the vodka sauce stands out less on this slice versus the square slice. You can see the freshly cracked black pepper on top. Located in a relatively small plaza but we got there about half an hour ish after opening so happened to find one or two empty parking spots and didn't have to resort to parking in the neighboring streets. If it's not clear by the reviews, they also remind you it's cash only so be sure to bring cash (didn't see an ATM in there or anything for you to take money out). Small establishment so inside you have a mix of people trying to fit themselves into either the "waiting to order" line, eating at one of the small tables off to the side, or waiting for their food. Got the square vodka sauce pizza and a triangle slice of the cheese. The crust was nice and thin/crispy on the thin slice and thick/crispy on the Detroit style square slice. Like I said, the pizza is good but for the price (and the wait which was probably at least 20 minutes for three individual slices, not even whole pizzas) I'm not sure I would come back again. It was $8 for the square slice (fine, standard slightly overpriced LA numbers) but $6 for just a schmedium slice of cheese pizza was a bit much. What I thought was a bit more ridiculous was the cost of adding hot honey as a topping was $6... no thank you... I went home and drizzled that myself without having to pay that price (unless I misread the menu and I'm paying for the whole bottle which was not super clear). If you're in the area and want to see what the hype is about -- sure go for it. But I personally will not be making the drive through LA traffic to come back.
