I had ordered both spicy and regular chicken, but the spicy chicken was actually not very spicy at all so if you are wanting very spicy chicken you may be disappointed. My only complaint is that it took quite awhile for them to bring our food out to us considering it's "fast food". My daughter and I decided to try Jollibee on a recent trip to Houston. Like many fast food chicken places they had chicken sandwiches, tenders and whole pieces. I opted for a three piece meal figuring I could add a side salad or cole slaw. No luck all the sides, rice, fries and mashed potatoes were starches with not a leafy green in sight. As of July 25, 2020 I have to say I'm very impressed with how clean, efficient, and thoughtfully spaced out their COVID 19 procedures are. They had waiting stations for each customer, stickers for where to stand in line, and the staff was vocal in ensuring we were spaced out. For the food, y'all this is fast food lol. It's really good. I've been to this specific location more than a handful of times. The management and service at this location is absolutely horrid. Whenever I try calling take out, either my phone calls do not go through (yet they claim their phone works), or it doesn't get placed into their system so I have to wait for my food to get ready as if I ordered at the restaurant. Their responses to my predicaments would be either head nods or just no apologies at all. Absolutely ridiculous. It was our second time trying this place and can't say it was better than the first. The food is ok, but you can find equivalents at local gas stations. we got a side of the noodles which was a mess and had two tiny, boiled shrimp thrown on the top and in all honesty, looked like something frozen out of a box. Had a taste for Chicken so I went for Jollibee Filipino Fried Chicken. Sits in a good area being built with Filipino Food Restaurants, Bakery and Store. Badly needs Bar/Lounge. Wish someone would tell me were to find one or 2 in the city to make as my new hangout. Jollibee is a little more expensive than American but good, Spicy or mild. They offer other things that I have yet to try. When I go, I never know what to try so I stick to the chicken for now. We were in Houston for a weekend and there was one down the way from our hotel, we stopped on the way out and to my surprise it was probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. A group of friends and I went to Houston for the weekend specifically to eat. Of course, being an iconic Asian fast-food restaurant, we couldn't help but check it out. I ordered the spaghetti with two-pieces of chicken plus a side of rice. In my opinion, Jollibee spaghetti is not remotely close to "spaghetti". It was unusually sweet and lacked a tomato-flavor. The amount of sauce and sausages in the spaghetti was good. The chicken and gravy tasted exactly like KFC. Everyone in the group agreed that it was the same exact taste as the gravy and fried chicken from there. Lastly, my biggest complaint would be the plain rice. The rice barely had texture as it was too soft. Not "too soft" like it was watery, but there wasn't any bite to the rice, which was bland and a weird experience eating... I've never eaten plain white rice so soft and bland before, even my friends didn't like the "airy" rice. I also tried their peach mango pie, fries, and hamburger. The hamburger patty is pretty much a moco loco or meatloaf with excessive sandwich spread on it, peach mango pie tasted more like a candy than a pie, and I have no complaints on the french fries. She could've been nicer about the covid rules. She was very abrupt about telling a guy that the restrooms were closed, and telling a party of 5 people that only one of them can wait in the waiting area and the rest outside. Which makes no sense given that the whole dining area is not being used. Which also was slightly dirty, for it not being used. Our food took longer than expected but it was still delicious. First time here and it was busyyyy!!! We got the family meal (half and half ) with 3 mango/peach pie. But was given both spicy but that's okay! We enjoyed the chicken anyways with the gravy sauce! When I'm hungry and don't really know what to eat, my cravings tend to gravitate towards here as I imagine the crisply fried chicken paired with their spaghetti... yes, an odd combo but believe me it works! I also had halo-halo and spaghetti to go (for dinner later). The fiesta noodles were in a box within a box, with chicken. I'm not sure what chickenjoy was about. It's just fried chicken. Not memorable at all and came with gravy that served no purpose whatsoever. It's not even Filipino garlic fried chicken. The fiesta noodles were decent with three tiny pieces of shrimp and two slices of boiled egg. I sprinkled the packet of lemon juice which is cursory. It was fine and I finished it. I had the halo-halo in the car else it would melt. I've had it before so it is familiar to me. If you've never had it before and textures usually put you off, don't try it. The slimy yellow things aren't snot, it is actually jack fruit, a delicious tropical and sweet fruit. I'm not sure what the green and red semi-hard jellies were but I liked it. I didn't exactly get the correct items I ordered because the lady must have misheard fries instead of rice. The chicken was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and the meat was juicy and tender. Not sure what the gravy was on the side. It tasted ok but not sure if you can call that gravy with how watery it was. Even though they put a generous amount of fries, a generous amount was thrown in the trash. The spaghetti was below average.
