Not to be confused with the Creepycentre, which is only open on Halloween…read more It's pretty Epic at the Epic-centre. I love coming here, and do so every single time I'm in Charlotte on a weekend night, which is often lately. Very appropriately named because this really is the epicenter of Charlotte. It's lively and fun and modern and futuristic and pretty amazing. The whole multi-level palace is filled with hot people and scandalously dressed people, especially on warm nights. I made some nice friends around here (of both genders, for a change). It is the heartbeat of downtown Charlotte and a very non-traditional party area. Sort of like a party area of the future. If a mall had an older, drinking crowd and was outdoors and full of clubwear then this would be it. For this reason we love walking around here, even though parking is extremely difficult here on Friday and Saturday nights, so be careful. We've actually parked illegally and gotten away with it on several occasions, but I wouldn't recommend that to others. Lots of cops around here so don't do anything stupid. The design means that if somebody crazy decided to commit suicide, or if there was a fist fight, then it would be very easy from the higher levels to plunge down a long, long way, and there's a lot of people wandering in the courtyard below, so that worries me a tiny bit, and what about the very very drunk people leaning against the railings with a 100 foot drop down onto concrete asphalt right below them. It does worry me slightly but it's still an absolutely wonderful place.

We drove an hour and will be doing so forward to come here. We were assisted by Juliette and the owner with the utmost care. When I explained her issue the owner steered us away from a more expensive shoe we were interested in and suggested several that were a better option to keep her toes from pointing inward. The recommendations were spot on and we were amazed by how straight her feet were and how she wasn't falling in the shoes. The fitting process was very low stress and truly excellent from these women and my under two granddaughter had a fantastic experience!! This is definitely worth the drive and the shoe/ sneaker/ sandals/ water friendly and dress selection were amazing!!! We will be back!!

The customer service from the entire staff is AMAZING!!! Yesterday I found two pair of shoes, one shoe I wasn't too happy with but there was a BOGO 1/2 off sale on top of my $5 or $10 off coupon so I had to get two pair. As the cashier was ringing me up she saw the unsettling look on my face. She asked what was wrong, I told her I wasn't really sure about my purchase. Frankly, I don't shop for clothes or shoes very often so my wife had to point me to this place as I only knew the Best Buy existed in this shopping complex near across from Northlake Mall off Harris Blvd. The selection of shoes was very broad with a variety of price ranges from which to choose. This included a decent array of size 14's which can oftentimes be a problem to find. I found a pair I liked quickly, tried them on, they fit well and there you have it, sold! Throw in that she got a new pair of brown boots for the buy one get one 50% off deal and we both walked away happy.

They do have a huge selection, hence the "warehouse" in the name. But these are retail prices and they are not inexpensive. The store is clean and organized. If it's cute...I make a mental note....if I gasp...I'll walk in and usually will not purchase because they won't have my size. grr. I have to get a dress in a size large in everything so it won't look like a micro mini on my long legs. And Larges tend to fly off the shelves. Lets face it....I'm not 20 anymore and I shouldn't be in a micro anything. I'm all woman..hear me roar. I think this location is a little bit "hipper" than the other location that is in the South Park area next to WS. That location has some of the same pieces but I've been in there and the items would def appeal to the older crowd (40's) and then made mid 20s. Today..... Uptown location made me proud. I had my eye on a Chevron Black and White LONG maxi skirt that was at another boutique in dilworth. I called them and they sold out in about a week. *tears* of sadness. Oh WAIT...I thought to myself...I think Ivy & Leo had the same skirt....I'll check on Monday. Walked in today with a coworker and I couldn't find it on the rack. *tears of sadness* I browse the sale rack as I morn in silence. My coworker said "is this it". A light from heaven shown down with all it's glory as she held up my beloved chevron black and white maxi skirt. "YES" and I snatched it. Thank the good Lord it was a large. I would have probably bought it anyway if it were a small and squeezed my thick'um thighs in it. (Don't judge...you know you've done that before). Here's where I get irritated. I'm happy and I asked the sales girl to hold it for me as I need to go back and get my wallet. I could have sworn she rolled her eyes in her head and I politely said that I would be back...no need to worry. She just grabbed it and said "Name?" wow....someone's got the Monday blues. So I went back and the OTHER nicer girl helped me. Anyway..that's my story. Check it out. It's a trendy little place and dangerous for me as it's on my way to work....blah. I have a shopping problem.

The Alley at Latta Arcade is one of Charlotte's most charming hidden gems and a wonderful reminder…read morethat every city has layers of history waiting to be discovered. Tucked behind an unassuming entrance on Tryon Street, this historic arcade transports you back to another era. Built in 1914 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the beautifully restored passageway connects Uptown's busy streets to a collection of locally owned restaurants, bars, and gathering spaces that feel both historic and modern. I love that the space encourages wandering. Take your time. Explore the storefronts. Grab a coffee, a cocktail, or a bite to eat. The skylit arcade, brick walkways, and European-inspired atmosphere make it feel unlike anywhere else in Charlotte. The real star here is the experience. You can stroll from Tryon Street through the arcade and emerge into Brevard Court, a lively courtyard filled with outdoor dining, people watching, and some of Uptown's most beloved local businesses. It feels intimate, walkable, and full of character. A word of advice: parking can be challenging. This is not a destination I'd recommend driving to unless you already have a plan. The best way to experience The Alley is on foot while exploring Uptown. Park in a nearby garage, take the light rail, hop on the streetcar, or make it part of a larger walking tour of the city. As someone still enjoying the process of discovering Charlotte, places like this make me appreciate the city's history and personality. It's compact, charming, and full of stories. Life is too short not to explore something new, Charlotte. Take a stroll through The Alley at Latta Arcade, slow down, and enjoy a piece of the city's history.
