I wasn't exactly dragged here by my wife but it wouldn't have been my preference. We were here to look at a specific brand and perhaps try some on. They do have a huge selection, hence the "warehouse" in the name. But these are retail prices and they are not inexpensive. The store is clean and organized. There are many styles and sizes on display. I suppose that they have more in the back but if you can't find what you're looking for, I'm going to guess that it's not worth asking. I went here the other day to look for work shoes as I haven't been here in a few years. Due to Covid, they are requiring that all customers wear masks. They have sanitizer available for customers if you need it. Also, once you try on shoes, they have set up stations for you to leave the shoe there so that it can be sanitized by their staff. I was greeted by a staff person who explained the sales that were going on that day. The isles were clean and clear of shoes and other items. I have big feet lol. So when I look for shoes, DSW tends to put on these size 11 stickers to alert me that they have bigger sizes. These stickers were on some of the boxes, but it seemed that there were far less size 11 or bigger available. The only negative thing that I saw during my visit was an interaction that I noticed between a customer and an employee. The employee was a bit short with the customer when she asked where should she put the tried on shoes. I decided to purchase my shoes, which I was so happy to see in a size 11. As I approached the checkout counter a young man by the name of Ezra checked me out. He was really nice and I enjoyed our chat. I forgot the phrase he said to me when I approached the counter but I laughed. He answered my questions and seemed like he was happy to work there which is always refreshing. DSW used to be my go to spot for discounted shoes for men. However, the last visit I made left me wondering what is going on with DSW. The store is still laid out the same and the associates still greet you when you come into the store. They still do a decent job of keeping the aisles and floor clean which can be a safety hazard. Here is what has changed for me; it's that the selection of shoes has changed. They seem to no longer stock the Cole Haan or Johnson and Murphy brand as much. I did see a couple of shoes but it seemed that these were remnants of what once was. I looked on DSW's website and it was the same thing. DSW seems now to be carrying more unknown brands to keep their shelves stock and for people who do to DSW for quality shoes, you may find yourself disappointed. read more

These ladies that work in this location are bad for business, I'm calling corporate and letting them know to please take me off their mailing list so that I will not receive any discounts promotions again, DSW clearly does not care that they hire riff raffs to run the show at this particular location. read more

My cousin ordered some shoes online that were sent from a DSW store in Massachusetts. The shoes had a white bottom; however, bottoms of both shoes were dirty as if someone had worn the shoes and returned them. We returned the shoes to the store, and Emily at the customer service counter assisted us. My cousin told her the reason that she was returning the shoes was because the bottom of the shoes looked like someone had worn them based on how dirty they were. Emily responded and said "it's because our floors are dirty and the shoes get dirty from people walking around." It was a nice try at the answer, but nah man. Them shoes didn't even come from that store, so it's a no for that excuse. Second, we walked around that store for a few mins looking at shoes that had white soles, and none of the shoes at that store had that much dirt on the bottom. Third, whatever store sent the shoes, they put the clearance sticker on the bottom of the shoes on top of the dirt. Between the dirty floors, silly customer service answers, and the selling of dirty shoes, it's a no for shopping at DSW going forward. As for this location, y'all may want to call the company that cleans the carpet at Nordstrom Rack next door since Emily said the floors are dirty, which led to loss and business. Be safe! read more

Join the DSW rewards program, and you will get coupons in the mail regularly. My most recent coupon was for $20 off a $100 purchase or $60 off a $200 purchase. The coupon is good for 1 month, so it gives you plenty of time to make it into the store. read more

I was surprised to see that DSW is now carrying a bunch of running shoes! Before it used to be just casual and formal shoes (for men) but I went here the other day and was pleasantly surprised. Now it's not going to be a specialized as say a Run for your Life or TrySports store, but it was nice to find a store that carried Mizunos or Asics. Normally I just stick to the right hand side (2 aisles) where the men's shoes are at and the back clearance section. My sister often goes here... sometimes for hours on end and I can see why since their selection is vastly greater on the women's side. read more

When in shoe doubt, head over to DSW. This large warehouse is packed with shoes, and so long as you are in the mood to bargain hunt, you will most likely have a successful shopping experience. It may be easy to get overwhelmed here because of the rows and rows of shoes. Nothing is displayed fancily, it is literally just shoes out on display with extra sizes right underneath in boxes so you can just help yourself to trying things on (I happen to like this better than having to ask salespeople). The location here is a great store, and one of my favorite parts about it is the sale racks in the back. Imagine, a shoe store full of bargains anyway, and then heading to the back and finding even more! You can save big here, no doubt. I scored a pair of shoes here for $12 once, Nine West, originally $60 something. Not bad! Also, check out the handbags - great designers at even better prices! read more

So, that being said, I'm a fan of DSW in general and I'll toss out a fist pump for this DSW, frankly because it's the closest one to my house. This isn't saying much as I still have to travel quite a ways down South Blvd. to get there - but mayyybe that's a good thing. Husband says yes, that is indeed a good thing. This DSW is, naturally, stocked with rows and rows of shoes. It leans a bit heavier on the women's section, but there are plenty for dudes, too. You won't see super high end brands here, but I've spied: Tahari, Puma, Nike, Ann Klein, Calvin Klein, Sam Edelman, BCBG, Asics, Jessica Simpson & more. As always, the shoes are discounted and the sale section in the back is surely hit or miss. You'll also see handbags and socks thrown into the mix here. DSW has always been a weakness of mine. So many shoes. So many bargain shoes, arranged by size, with pretty little stickers to tell you exactly how much to deduct. Yeah, I have a problem. That's fine, I've embraced it. Brand love aside, this location is pretty average. You want a shoe, go there, you have a decent chance of finding it. The clearance is okay and the regular price selection is a nice cross-section. I've never had any Customer Service issues like some of the other reviews mention. The have a good amount of shoes to choose from, but the sizes can be hit or miss - that's a frustrating part about DSW. The good thing is there are other locations in Charlotte (always wish there were more) as well as 24/7 shopping on the company website. Be sure to sign up for company email and become a member of the rewards club! It's worth it. They also have accessory items to choose from as well. DSW has an awesome selection of shoes. You could spend a lot of time going through row upon row of discounted shoes. I browse DSW (especially the clearance racks, where you can find some sweet deals) every time I'm in the area. When I needed running shoes, I headed to DSW. Sure, if I were some marathon runner, I'd go to more of a specialty shoe store. But I just needed $50 New Balance running shoes for the YMCA. I have two complaints though. The staff can be overwhelming. One time when I was there, literally every staff member approached me and tried to sign me up for some rewards program. I'm sure they were having a campaign that day, but it was really annoying. And sometimes the prices on the shoebox don't match the prices on the signs, so then you have to get someone to figure out what is the right number while you hope it's the lower price. read more

Mecca. Heaven. The Everest of shoe stores. If you are a shoe whore/junkie/afficiando, you will love this place. Admittedly, the selection for men is much smaller but really, we don't live in an area teeming w/metrosexuals and a huuuuge gay community, so the average guy doesn't need more than three or four pairs to choose. Besides, less shoes for them means more for me to admire and covet. Great selection, usually with a great variety of sizes and a good variety of really well priced accessories. Well organized. It is genius in it's layout and concept b/c women like me walk in, are immediately drawn into a trance-like state and suddenly it's two hours later, we are $150 lighter and we are leaving w/the 'I just had amazing sex' contented smile on our faces! The store is enormous and has a wide variety to choose from. It appears clean, I constantly see employees tidying up. It's extremely frustrating to shop here for me personally. I will see a style I like, a color I enjoy, go to try it on.... no luck. They almost NEVER have my size in stock. On the few occasions they have it's awesome! Today is a great example of failure, went in searching for either boots or flats.... every style I liked, all size 9s were gone. I was able to try on one pair of flats I liked and unfortunately they didn't fit right. Kind of disappointing. The staff is also hit and miss. Went to the store, and did not have my size. They said they could order the right size and ship for free to my house. Shoes showed up six days later, and they were the wrong size. Contacted them - and they now don't even have the size in their warehouse to ship. They want me to ship the shoes back or take the shoes back to a store. So after more than a week - still no shoes, and still have to return the wrong ones. Did not offer any type of compensation. Horrible. read more

I really don't understand bad customer service. When there are so many options I would think stores would want to keep customers. I had a $20 off $49 coupon which I used there. I specifically asked the cashier to take it off 1 pair (which were $90) because the second pair I got I wasn't sure if I was keeping. Sure enough when I went to return the 2nd pair half the coupon had been put on that pair. The only way to give me credit for the full price of the shoes was if I exchanged them. How convenient for them. I'm not going to argue over $10 but this kind of shadiness will make me never shop there again read more
