I genuinely enjoyed and appreciated his support throughout the entire process. I originally contacted another company with higher online ratings, but they couldn't get anyone out the same day. I decided to give Plumb Doc a shot despite their slightly lower rating--and I'm really glad I did. The service I received was absolutely 5-star level. Brian came out quickly and accurately diagnosed the issue: a pin-sized hole in one of the PVC pipes underground in our front yard that feeds the house. We had noticed water running down the driveway and weren't sure if it was just runoff from recent rain or a broken pipe, especially since temperatures had been below freezing. Brian confirmed it was a leak by shutting off the water to the house and checking the meter--we were still using water. From there, Brian walked me through multiple options, ranging from a full pipe replacement to a targeted repair. I was dealing with family health issues at the time and needed the fastest, least disruptive solution so I could focus on being at the hospital. Brian really stepped up. He suggested bringing in a leak-detection specialist using sonar equipment to pinpoint the exact location. It added a few hundred dollars upfront but would save time, money, and yard damage in the long run. We went with that option, and it worked exactly as promised. That evening, a gas technician came out to mark the gas lines, the leak-detection team arrived the next morning, and Brian dug a very small area and replaced the damaged pipe on day two. He even worked past dark to finish the job. Plumb Doc handled everything--all scheduling, coordination, and follow-through. Brian personally made sure every vendor piece was handled correctly. A few days later, after the clay had settled, Brian came back to fill in the hole--even though we had already paid. He even offered to buy a bag of mulch to cover the area, which we declined since we planned to re-mulch anyway. The leak is fully fixed, no more water loss, and the price was completely reasonable. Throughout the process, Brian kept me informed via text, sent photos, and made sure I always knew what was happening. Beyond the technical skill, he's just a genuinely good guy--someone you'd grab a beer with. Too often, you talk to a company owner and then get sent a low-quality crew. That did not happen here. I couldn't be happier with the service and would absolutely recommend Plumb Doc to friends and family. A lot of people give 5 stars for just expected service, so I want to make it clear that this job exceeded my expectations and truly earned their 5 stars.

I'm revising my prior 5 star review of My Georgia Plumber following a disappointing interaction…read morewith Jessica Stevens, the service manager there. We have been My Georgia Plumber annual members for the past decade or so. We have a larger house with five hot water tanks, 8 bathrooms, 4 half baths and 3 kitchen sinks. My Georgia Plumber has done a lot of work for us, but they have always had issues with Waterworks parts. I told them this was an issue, as most of our hardware is Waterworks. They replaced a cartridge in the sink ($511) and that took about a month to get the part and them back out, so not the fastest option, but Clay did a good job finding the part, and the plumbers got it put in. My issue is that after paying 50% up front, and 50% on installation, I received a $22 charge for something else. I called to inquire and they advised me that they charge 4% to use a credit card. This was not disclosed on the estimate nor did the plumber tell me this. It was added to the amount they charged me, until the next day, so I had no notification. I've now been back and forth with Jessica the manager, who offered to let me write a check and mail it to them and then they'd refund the $22. The issue is that they should just refund me the $22 because it wasn't disclosed. They are putting me out to make me write a check and mail it. I've done a LOT of business with them. They have decided that the $22 is worth more than a client, even a client who has spent a lot of business and has the strong probability of spending a lot more. I'm not sure what their customer acquisition cost, but they've burnt a bridge with me in this. Moreover, they are claiming that they must make the surcharge to be compliant with GA law, but GA law requires they disclose the surcharge, which they did not do. Very poor decision from the client service manager.

They tell you that their truck arrives "fully stocked and able to tackle…read moreany job", which seems great, considering they charge you $150 fee just to come to your house, which gets reduced down to about $90 if they do the job that day. I spoke to them a day in advance about the job to be done, and they said no problem. Well, they came to my house, and said no, we can't actually do this job today because it will take a long time and no we don't come stocked with supplies (having natural gas piped to an outdoor grill). Then they tried to charge me the full $150 service fee "so we don't arrive back at the office with nothing", even though it was there fault they couldn't do the job that day. I talked them down to the reduced fee. I asked if there was a credit card fee, they said no, so I paid with my credit card rather than a check. A week later, I got a text from them saying they "had a system glitch and forgot to charge a credit card fee " and that they had recharged my card for that fee- completely without my consent! I let them know it was illegal for them to charge my card like that without my consent. See their insane response below. By the way, other plumbers I've talked to do NOT charge a fee to come give you a quote or check out your project. Go with literally anyone else.

Long story short, I thought I had diagnosed the problem to something far more severe than the true problem at hand (me). I don't write salacious or slanderous reviews on here. I'm not an angry, misunderstood, conflicted teenager with a score to settle. I'm 56 years old, and I try to write clearly and objectively. On Monday April 15 two plumbers from GOBP showed up on time to repair the main water line next to our meter. When they arrived they estimated $900-1100 for the repair, which seemed high but, as they stated, this was an estimate which, I assumed, could go up or down if the job requires more or less time or materials. The two plumbers started to work immediately. One plumber dug out a 1x2x1' section of soil, then the other installed a couple feet of blue PEX hose and a shutoff valve. The first plumber replaced the soil and sod and the job was finished in one hour. So, two plumbers, together working one hour, with about $50 in parts. For that they charged $960. They lowered the price to $900, after l pointed out it was a one hour repair. I noted out that each plumber was charging me more than $400 an hour for their labor, which is more than doctors, engineers, lawyers and other professionals make. They replied, "we charge by the job, not by the hour." But the quote for the job was just that--a quote, an estimate! They wouldn't budge. I paid, wrote a review here that night and thought I was done with them. Four days later, on Friday evening, I got a call from "Chris" who wanted to discuss my review. Chris tried to convince me that they were fair, that I got a good deal, but that inflation has just been "really hard" on everyone. I disagreed. The plumbers showed up, priced the job high and showed little flexibility to adjust the price when the work was less than estimated. If they need to estimate high to cover their tails, fine, but don't use as an excuse to gouge me. Chris then tried to say it was my fault that they overcharged, because I didn't ask them up front how long it would take, or try to negotiate a lower price. Then he explained that his company loses money on other jobs...and I inferred from this that he is somehow justified in overcharging other customers like me, because he has to make up that money someplace. I agreed to modify my original review, to state that the plumbers did give me an estimate at the start of work (according to Chris I should have included that in my review, and that I didn't try to negotiate the estimate before they started work. Think about how ridiculous that sounds: "give me a lower estimate, please.". The morning after we spoke, I looked for my review on here to make the changes I promised, and it was gone.
