Matt the owner is very knowledgeable and can help with any of your needs. In addition, he is a military veteran who served our country. Dan has been around guns for decades, knows his stuff and is friendly. One nitpick is he's the only…read moreguy on staff, so gun work done inside 48 hours is not going to be reality. You'll drive a little out of the way to get to him, as he works from a 15 by 30 foot bungalow by his home, way off the beaten path. This also keeps his overhead very very low, and that is good for the customer bottom line. He's a reloading buff and is quite knowledgeable in that area. As for firearms sales realize you are going to seeing mostly vintage old west guns; revolvers, duck shotguns, and deer rifles. Not a bad thing; just an observation. The guns I've given him to work on are more tactical in nature, but no problems diagnosing issues and putting back together. Ammo prices seem to be quite reasonable here, though selection depends on what he gets into his shop, which is a smattering of various calibers. Overall, I recommend Dan highly and trust his work over the shops along the main drag that absolutely hammer you on pricing.

To coordinate a shoot is a very daunting task, it takes a lot of people's efforts to make it a success. First we need a facility to hold such a match, well Illumined Arms donated their fantastic facility for shooters to compete and the assistance of their staff to insure the facility is available for holding the event , then all the sponsors to advertise and staff, Battleborn group, Vet Mech Arms and the Lyon County Sheriff's department staff to run and insure this event went smoothly. We also had a late sponsor by Anderson renewal windows to support such a worthy cause. All this for supporting our neighbors in need of support with our donations. This was a turkey shoot after all, so turkey's were of course the prize to the top shooters. From what I observed, everyone left with smiles on their faces, satisfied knowing we were doing this for a very worthy cause and we all participated in a safe event.
