Best burger in Riverdale, wide variety of offerings! They know how to cook, and treat their customers. No wonder they have such a loyal clientele. They have a keto menu! They have chopped cheese!! I haven't tried their falafel yet. It's probably good too. Their salads look delish. They make all kinds of smoothies including with almond milk. But back to the burger. It's so juicy. I hate giving even mediocre reviews, but unfortunately I had to share. This deli consistently gets orders wrong. I've tried to be supportive of them but everything I've ordered is missing one or more items or prepared wrong. Today I ordered a simple BLT and had raw bacon in my sandwich. Decided to try out this pretty standard looking new deli yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised. They have great vegetarian selections and are fine with substituting their fake meats into the listed sandwiches/wraps/burgers. Overall really high quality for a deli too! read more

I am so happy to have this place open up in the neighborhood. Previously there was no shop in this part of Riverdale to get a sandwich other than at Leibman's deli at a huge cost. People in the store are very friendly, make excellent sandwiches at good prices. Plus they have a big smoothie operation going on, plus cooked foods. The falafel's are excellent, and they have some very delicious cakes from Lloyd's. I'm giving them five stars for what they do. read more

Okay so we order sandwiches on Uber Eats. One roast beef, one chicken cutlet and one caesar wrap. The caesar wrap was mediocre-it was a little soggy. The chicken cutlet and roast beef were top tier! They were so delicious and a decent size. One will definitely fill you up with no sides! We also got our food within a half hour and it was so fast and still warm! I wish I took pictures but they were so good they were gone so fast. Definitely a great deli! read more

We've had takeout from here a few times now and are impressed with the fresh ingredients, diverse menu options and friendly service. Haven't tried delivery but plan to - they are open 6am-10pm! First time I order from Johnson Deli and I was surprised to the rapid delivery. I did not get extra butter nor syrup for the pancakes, but I found them fluffy and good tasting. The bacon was crispy but the scrambled eggs were too well done for my preference. The toasted everything bagel was perfectly toasted and the right amount of cream cheese was smeared. I have not tasted the chicken cutlet parmesan hero, but I noticed that they did not use enough marinara sauce. I know I'm going to enjoy Floyd's carrot cake later tonight. I enjoy a great tasting carrot cake, and I know that Floyd's carrot cake is the best of the best carrot cake here in Riverdale, Bronx. I've not been able to visit their bakery, so I was happy to see it on the menu as I was placing my online order. I will be ordering from Johnson Deli in the near future. And if possible, I may take the bus and personally visit Johnson Deli. read more

It can take some time to get your sandwich especially when they are busy. The food (e.g. egg and cheese sandiwch) is sufficiently good for a deli. I like that they offer some higher end items like Milk Bar and Tate's cookies. This gives a variety of options when impluse shopping while waiting for your food order. They just opened recently and seem to keep the place clean. A solid neighborhood deli that is open convenient hours. read more

I'll start by saying I've been here twice and the food was good both times. The issue, is the service. The first time I came here it took about 15 min start to finish for a cold turkey sandwich. I assumed it was because they are a new deli they hadn't yet figured out the most efficient way to prepare the food. I went a second recently and a chicken cutlet sandwich took half a hour, should be 10-15 min tops. I decided it best to call my order ahead to avoid the issue of slow service; the problem was no one picked up any of my three phone calls (they were open at the time).
