Absolutely terrible towing service. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a towing company. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and completely disrespectful. Communication was awful, the service was handled poorly, and they acted like the customer's time and situation did not matter at all. Instead of helping during an already stressful situation, they made everything even worse. I would never use this towing company again and would not recommend them to anyone. There are much better and more professional towing companies out there. read more

This place feels like a complete scam. They towed my car just five minutes away from their office and then charged me $1,200 for basically nothing. The whole situation made no sense. What made it even worse is the lack of communication. Even though I was physically at their office, they refused to explain anything in person and said all details had to be handled through text or email. That's extremely unprofessional and honestly suspicious. Overall, a very frustrating experience. I would strongly recommend staying away and finding a more honest, transparent business read more

UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISORGANIZED This place was a terrible experience from start to finish. Customer service is basically nonexistent. No one could give clear answers, and everything felt super unprofessional. On top of that, my car ended up with additional damage while in their handling, which had to be reported. That alone is unacceptable. They also expect you to write down your card information on paper, which feels completely unsafe and not appropriate whatsoever. To make things worse, staff couldn't even explain their own policies. We were told conflicting information, and when we asked simple questions, no one had real answers just "that's what I was told." There are no visible policies, no accountability, and no clear communication. The whole operation feels unorganized and poorly managed. Given that this business operates on behalf of the town, there should be more oversight and accountability. The town should take responsibility and look into how this place is being run. read more

‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼ WARNING: UNETHICAL AND DANGEROUS PRACTICES I am writing this to warn the community about johns main auto body in north Bergen NJ. After my car was towed following an accident, this company refused to let me retrieve my high blood pressure medication and my legal documents including my insurance medical card simply because I couldn't pay the towing fee because it was so expensive almost 500 usd for 1 mile Despite explaining that my life was at risk and begging for my medicine for over two hours at the place, the front desk staff was incredibly cruel and rude. After that I called trying to mediate with them to get my medicines but They laughed at my situation and mocked me over the phone, calling me "childish" for needing my prescriptions. Their illegal actions caused me to have a medical crisis that night with my blood pressure putting my integrity in risk. Please, do not do business with these people. They showed zero humanity and put my life in danger over a bill. A company that prioritizes money over a person's survival is dangerous. read more

Absolutely disaster. With no flexibility whatsoever, they told my car of the turnpike literally passed by my office. I begged to pay whatever I need to pay to drop the car there instead they forced me to take it to their towing location. Excuse was company policy. Got there they forced me to take her inside their grounds so this way they can charge for every day the car parked thier. I heard nothing but company parts company, parts company parts I even pulled the cops on them. read more

STAY AWAY. They responded to my AAA request to tow me from north bergen to bloomfield after my car had an unknown mechanical issue. The driver did not speak any english and was unable to communicate with me so i had to call a family member to translate. There was never conversation about money. After the driver took the car(I was picked up from the scene) about 20 minutes had passed and they called to tell me I owe $11 for tolls and if i was not there in 10 minutes they would bring my car back to their yard for $150 and i could not have my car back until the next day. The only toll road in the area is the GSP and AAA tows are not permitted on that roadway there is no reason for there to be a toll fee. When i advised their office that their driver was unable to communicate with me but did not mention money to me i was told that this is a "dual language country and i should learn spanish" this was extremely unprofessional and i feel they were trying to scam me. Sounds like a bogus business to me. Never again will I use their services. read more

Did not realize there was a daily storage fee. I had to call and reach out to the employees for the quote to fix my car/diagnosis, which they claimed to have lost. At the end of the next day, they emailed the quote, upon which it was too late to pick up the car. The quote was over $1,000, so traveled over an hour to pick up the car and paid the towing fee and per day storage fee. After picking up the car, multiple dashboard lights were on that were not previously on and steering was nearly impossible and we've had to get the car towed to a different auto shop to have fixed in order to drive the car. read more

terrible tow yard couple years ago they impounded one of my historic vehicles for having my back bumper over a line , I get it. no fight no complaint paid the fee got to see my car come to realize there was damages to the fiber glass tail light housing and tail light I submitted my form for damages was told I'll be contacted never was I built the car my self so figured what ever I'll deal with it as of recently couple days ago 2 of my cars were impounded back to back my daily truck I just purchased and a Volkswagen I built from a bare shell lots of rare parts for what ever reason impounded , to keep it short I got them out same day , I was not allowed to inspect or enter vehicles unless I paid the fees after payment come to realization they slid my VW front passenger wheel either against the curb or the rail of the flat bed these are expensive wheels not a single damage on them the car is little lowered but nothing crazy as for it's winter time and I like driving in comfort , aside from my front wheel they also kinked my exhaust tips my car turned on I drove home and it was smoking from front radiator my front oil cooler is leaking , very badly and dl car refuses to turn on now after getting it home . I've never had starting issues with this car aside from that my 2010 ford ranger was also towed never had a single light on my dashboard now I have abs and traction light on I voiced my concerns and complaints still given the same bull**** paper to fill out and was told I'll be contacted I have no fait so I called cops filed report and will be in contact with insurance I have not been reached out to and it's been 5 days so far . I've been towed many times before never had issues like this including towed from turnpike by same tow yard with same VW through AAA service and never had any issues both my cars were taken 3:45-4:30 am they dragged my rwd truck and that's why the abs and traction control light are on and the have 0 f***s about my built up project car causing lots of damages I've worked for towing company's there's nice ways and wrong ways to removing cars from the bed or unhooking I believe VW was pulled by axels or control arms dropped on its front end damaging my oil cooler and radiator where smoke / fog was coming from after driving it home and now it don't turn on and they probably used the same flat bed to haul both cars putting the 2010 rwd ford ranger on the 5th wheel causing the dead end to get damaged now throwing abs and traction control lights upon talking to cops the tow truck drivers name was Jorge I believe he said I'm now waiting for a response from said supervisor " Henry " i understand what ever situations that took place for the vehicles to be impounded but they had proper documentation and insurance there's a right way and wrong way of doing your job Jorge gave 0 fucks and damaged 2 vehicles Henry most likely will not reach out to me , ive never been one to wrote a review . but I am furious and someone needs to pay for these damages for the costs I paid to get my cars back out not even 12 hours later they should've providing expert service and inflicting no damages to vehicles their yard is jam packed and they pack cars barely inches apart from each other I nearly came out of pocket $1000 for both my cars and one to be towed to my lot I can't imagine the costs of diagnosis and relapses + labor for these two vehicles . this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable . read more

The worst experience of my life. I recently had the unfortunate experience of having my SUV break down on the NJ Turnpike, and I had to rely on John's Main Auto Body for towing services. Let me start by saying that this was not a pleasant experience at all. First and foremost, the cost of towing my SUV from the Turnpike was a minimum of $160, which is quite steep considering the circumstances. What made matters worse was the fact that they didn't allow me to choose a location for towing. They claimed it was a contract and insisted on towing me to their own facility. This was frustrating because if your car breaks down on the Turnpike, it's likely that you need immediate repairs. Opting to tow it to your preferred mechanic would mean paying for towing twice, which is completely unfair. If you decide to leave your car at John's Main Auto Body facility, be aware that there are additional storage fees involved. It feels like they're trying to squeeze every last penny out of you. Furthermore, before they even start any mechanical work, they insist on running a diagnostic, which costs a hefty $145 per hour. This just adds insult to injury. Aside from all the financial inconveniences, the staff at John's Main Auto Body were incredibly rude and unprofessional. It was evident that they had no training on how to speak to customers, whether in person or over the phone. The receptionist I spoke to was rude, interrupting, and spoke over me. In fact, she had the audacity to hang up on me when she realized I wasn't accepting her half-hearted answers. Such behavior is completely unacceptable. I couldn't help but question why the NJ Turnpike would have a contract with such a place. It seems that many people have had similar experiences, as I discovered when I read the reviews. It's mind-boggling that they continue to send business to this establishment despite the numerous complaints. In fact, I was so disappointed with their service that I went as far as contacting a supervisor sergeant at the NJ Turnpike Newark (exit 16E) to file a complaint about John's Main Auto Body. In the end, I had to rely on my trusted towing and repair provider, who has received rave reviews, to tow my car back to my hometown. Unfortunately, even he encountered communication issues with the receptionists at John's Main Auto Body. They actually screamed at him in person and I was on his speaker on the phone, and I could hear the entire unpleasant exchange. It's disheartening to see such a disgusting organization operating in this manner. To sum it up, I strongly advise against using John's Main Auto Body for towing services. The high cost, lack of flexibility in choosing a location, additional fees, unprofessional staff, and overall unpleasant experience make this company one to avoid. Explore other options and save yourself the frustration and disappointment that comes with dealing with this establishment. read more

SNAKES RUDE. RACIST. UNPROFESSIONAL IN BUSINESS BUT PROFESSIONALS IN SCAMMING. TOLD ME TO GET OFF THEIR PROPERTY AFTER I GOT JUMPED BY AAA AFTER THEY TOWED ME. Cars got towed out of county park at North Bergen PD's request. The park is the country's jurisdiction. That was the first issue. 2nd issue: I called MT and asked about the first car and asked the cost. $427.25. I asked for a breakdown of the charges. $200 for flatbed tow, $50 for winching, storage $150, fuel and tax - $27.25. If the park was cleared out of cars, I doubt if they had to use winching to pluck the car out of a space. Then I asked about the second car and was told a higher price - almost $600. It was a Camaro. When I asked why it was more than the first car, they said it was written down as a SUV. I told them that a Camaro was not a SUV and the cost should have been the same as the other car. They said they would fix the paperwork and charge me $427.25. Second situation: I take Uber from the park to MT to get the first car. I calmly asked to look at the paperwork and pictures (you can check their cameras about this). If you want the car just pay for it and stop being so difficult". I told her that because I had to pay over $800 in cash to get the cars that I should be able to see the associated paperwork. I wanted to see the pictures because I wanted to confirm the extra charges for winching and a flatbed truck. The woman told me that she was not supposed to show me any pictures of the cars. She finally relented but the couple of pictures I saw was the car already in their tow lot, not in the space before they took the car. Before she showed me the pictures, the young clerk said "Why are you being so difficult? "Everyone knows that Sacco has a race every year in the park. It's your fault the cars got towed. I guess because they had something I wanted, they could talk to me anyway they wanted. I couldn't believe the rudeness, but I stayed quiet because I was getting mentally exhausted. I had to get the cash that they were demanding, and try to get two cars back to my house by myself using Uber. I was dizzy as I calculated that it was going to cost me over $1100 when it was all done. I paid the money, and the girl told me to walk up a few houses to a lot to get my car. As I walked on the lot, an older white man (thin build, white hair) comes out of an office. I showed him my receipt and walked to the car. I then overheard him call the young lady and confirm that I was okay to get the car. When I tried to start the car, it was dead. I asked for a jump and the man told me to call the office back. When I do, the same young woman answers and tells me that to jump the car it would cost me another $51.00!!!!! I couldn't believe how this place was continuing to try to get in my pockets for more cash. I told her that I was giving them almost $900 for the two cars already, and asked why they couldn't help me out and jump the car so I could leave. Then she goes on a rant and tells me again how it's my fault, that she can't help me, she doesn't make the rules, etc., etc. I hung up the phone and called AAA. I walked off the lot and waited on the public sidewalk for AAA to come. When AAA arrives in a little van about 30 minutes later, I walk back to the lot. By this time, the older man has closed the gate to prevent AAA from coming in. As I walked to my car the man shouts at me, "AAA can't come in here!". I told him that the tech had a portable battery and would jump the car. The tech then jumped the car in less than a minute. The man walks up when he hears the car start. Then told me directly, "Ok, now get off my property." How do you think this made me feel? I'm complaining to EVERYBODY about this place. read more

The gentleman who came was pleasant to deal with. From when I called to when the man came was 50 minutes. Had the distinct pleasure of visiting this fine establishment after having my car towed in Hoboken. Like all things, the Hoboken Parking Authority would make this as difficult as humanly possible. John's has only agreed to the protocol, right? Knowing how these things go I called in advance, got the details, and settled in for what I knew would be a lovely evening after a long day of work. First tip - ironically there's no where to park near the facility or you get towed. Imagine that! No greater self-fulfilling prophecy. Second tip - Visa, don't leave home with it. They don't accept it! Visa what have you done to sever ties with this upstanding business?? Visa - it's still everywhere you want to be. Do I want to be here? What you WILL need is cash or any other line of major credit card (4% usage fee) to settle up with the lovely ladies who greet you behind bullet proof glass (be sure and smile!). I'd suggest you also withdraw said cash before arriving at John's to defray the $5 ATM fee. I actually called that one before my arrival! Make sure you bring your driver's license, valid (and current) proof of insurance, and of course your registration. Hopefully this isn't in your actual car which, if towed, is probably sitting away from this facility in a lot in a very savory part of North Bergen. Don't worry though because one of the upstanding gentlemen who may have likely towed your car in the first place will give you a lift to retrieve these documents. Guess what, that means you get to ride with these wooleyboogers twice - once to retrieve documents and once to rescue your car from the seventh degree of hell. The conversation to and fro will be absolutely stimulating. What happens next is probably the single largest amount of data entry EVER... SO MUCH DATA ENTRY. What could Big John and his flock of lovely flamingos be doing with all of this data? QUE??? I'm so confused. While all of this is going on, be prepared for 133 angry people to storm into the building and carry on mindless conversations while you actually get dumber just for standing there. Again not to worry though because the whole process only takes about two hours and you'll still have time for dinner. For this exhilarating experience, I give you 5 stars John's Main. Well done! read more

This is for the Tow Truck Driver who changed my flat for me. I called Wright Express to get a tire changed for my company car and they called their subcontractor, Main. After a little misunderstanding with the dispatcher, my tire was changed quickly by a very nice gentleman named Steve. The dispatcher was apparently new and had no idea what she was doing because she thought my call was COD and the credit card machine was down. I had zero cash on me and thought that this was covered by my fleet agreement (which it was). I was pretty ticked off but when the Wright Express services company called Main again, they straightened out the situation. Poor Steve had the patience of Job. He turned around after he left the first time and got back to my car pretty quickly, changed the tire and completely defused the situation. I hope Main gets the new dispatcher trained well and has more Steves on staff. read more

I was forced to hire this tow truck company because the NJ Turnpike authorities only allow certain towing companies to operate on their road. (Fishy scheme, if you ask me). asked how much it would be to take me to a family member's house (about 15 miles from location) and they quoted me $220. I decided to take my car to their shop and then use my warranty service to tow me to the dealership since I was out of monopoly-NJ-Turnpike rules. However, it only cost me $80 to take my car to their auto repair shop (pretty convenient!). Once off the NJ Turnpike, and at this location, my warranty service had problems trying to get a truck to get me due to weather problems (so they claimed.) They made me ask how much this tow truck company would charge me to take my car to the dealer (about 7 miles). They said $450 PLUS TAX. Even the teller who asked the owner for the price grimaced at the incredibly abusive quote I was given by her boss. Evidently, they wanted to take advantage of my plight. My warrant service refuse to pay this, and finally got somebody on their own. However, these people still made it unnecessarily painful to take my car out of their lot. The other driver had to come in (leaving his truck in the middle of the street since there is no parking), give his driver's license, and sign a release. I had to sign a bunch of papers as well. They were not only abusive in their pricing but also incredibly inefficient in their operations. Unless I am again FORCED by NJ schemes to hire these people (despite having my own warranty) I would never call this company for anything; I would obviously not have any repair done at their shop either. read more

I'm writing this hopeful review. My car stuck on the turnpike, I had to call the police to send a tow, since turnpike is restricted. I was towed to this place, where I was going to get my roadside assistance to pick up my car and tow elsewhere, but decided to take a chance. I'm not happy with the reviews I've seen, but they offered no charge to give me a ride to the train, I lost my keys in the bathroom and they called to let me know. I had no insurance card on paper, and the teller assisted me in emailing the e-copy to the office (I'm not technically limited, but needed help in this situation... the teller was helpful to me). I'm hoping for a good outcome... the fact is NJ state makes it hell for anyone who breaks down on gsp or njt... I'll just hope for the best. read more

Worst experience I've had in my entire life with a company EVER. NEVER GO HERE! Employees hate their lives. One employee, an older one lady (who reluctantly gave me her name "Debbie"....yea right) was rude and had no desire to help me whatsoever. When I went in person the experience was even worse. First of all the office is dirty, nasty, and a complete dump. In need of a major remodeling. Then the two attendants at the window were arguing with each other the entire time as I was standing in front of them waiting patiently for someone to help me. So unprofessional! Then I get my receipt and they charged me for 2 full days of car storage when my car was only in the lot 14 hours. I try to get a refund and they give me the name of a manager to call who I can never get a hold of. They can't even give me his direct number so every time I call I have to speak to their rude unprofessional attendants. They don't accept checks or VISA. I have never reviewed any business but could not let this pass. This company is awful. They are criminals who rack up bogus charges and extremely poor service. My husband broke down on the NJ turnpike. This company was contracted to tow that section. They charged $250 just to get off turnpike. They then charged to remove drive shaft and also to put lights on and they did neither. They made my husband and son ride in the towed vehicle. That is highly dangerous and illegal. To make matters worse the driver was annoyed with the traffic and proceeded to pass the stopped vehicles on the shoulder of the road. This company was the only option we had. They were rude and way overcharged. Do not go here. read more
