Good food

Amazing Barbecue at Big John's BBQ! I had the brisket and ribs platter. The barbecue beans were soooo good, as well. Thanks for the wonderful atmosphere and food. The ladies behind the counter were awesome and incredibly friendly.

Great food consistently. Like the jonesville location too. The pulled pork is amazing.

It's small inside, probably only about 10 tables or so. It's kinda like a pizza joint, but very clean and comfortable. There are brightly painted walls and it smells amazing! Service: You order at the counter, pay, get a number, and seat yourself. You get your own drinks and they bring the food out to you when it's ready. The wait for our food was maybe 10 minutes at the most? The girl who took our order and brought our food was very pleasant and made good suggestions when we were trying to figure out what to get. Food: I ended up getting the Big John's Cheeseburger (basically a classic cheeseburger) with curly fries. Yum, yum, yum. This burger tasted so homemade, like off the grill in the summer. It was juicy but not overly greasy. Personally, I would've liked a little less mayo and mustard but that is more just a preference. Oh my stars the fries! So good and FUN! It had been forever since I had curly fries. These do not disappoint. My fiance got the Jacked Up Burger (lettuce, tomato, mayo, pepper jack cheese, jalapeno peppers, bacon) and said kinda the same thing - super fresh and just yummy. The jalapeno peppers, pepper jack cheese, and bacon made it different then a regular burger and worked really well together. They have other specialty burgers, sandwiches, po'boys, BBQ plates, and salads. There is also a kid menu. Cost: Super inexpensive! Our burgers were only $10! They don't cheat you on portions either. The burgers were at least 8oz and you got a mound of curly fries. Free refills on fountain soda. It's probably a good thing I don't live around this place or I'd be eating burgers and fries wayyyy too often. If you are in Natchez Moo's is a must!

The sweet potato casserole is identical to one a local food distributor sells. (The highlight of the meal). Fried pepperjack cheese stick was disgusting! It basically was a tasteless cheese stick encrusted in a thick bread like coating. (Like a corn dog). $30 down the toilet..... Obviously the locals like it, because they were fairly busy. The back court yard could be fixed up/cleaned up for a nice outdoor dining spot. It was not clean as well

Stopped here for lunch on the way to meet my friends. I was 25 minutes early so I figured I'd have…read moreenough time to grab food, and they said it'd take about 10 minutes to make. I finally decided on the crawfish cheese dip and seafood gumbo, together making a meal. The dip came out after about 5 minutes so I figured another 5 for the gumbo. Then they said it'd be another 5... and I waited... and it took until 12:05 for me to finally get it! That schedule was a bit of an issue, but it was because they were actually cleaning and pulling meat out of the crawfish to insert into my gumbo. So, you know what? I'll take the freshness. On to the food. Granted, I had very minimal food - people were ordering multiple-pound buckets of shelled crawfish with various sides - but here's my take. The cheese dip was a bit salty. Had a decent amount of crawfish in it, probably a bit heavier on the tomatoes and veggies than the seafood, but a decent haul overall. But very salty. The gumbo, on the other hand, was surprisingly not salty enough! I poured the rice in (for some reason was given them separately) and went to town on it, focusing on the Gulf shrimp first, finishing off the rice and roux, then using the bread to soak up the soup and ending with all the crawfish inside. Overall, it was pretty good stuff. Not really exactly the tastes I was looking for, but I value the small, independent, local place with fresh seafood in droves, so I would absolutely never give them less than 4 stars for that. I would just recommend two things:1) better off coming here to sit (with plenty of time) as opposed to trying to get something to go quickly, and 2) bring a bunch of friends so that you can all split one of the large buckets of items and go to town on the crawfish yourself! That probably is 5 stars there every time and I would be willing to try them again with those circumstances.

Highly recommend for boiled crawfish!! Very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Will be returning!read more

The service was awesome, the place is super cute, and the food looked good! The server offered us a biscuit to start with, but we declined, since I was just ordering the Natchez beignet. I should have taken it though, because biscuits. But I guess I assumed the beignet would be beignets, with powdered sugar like in NOLA. No, this was one beignet with ice cream and some kind of sauce that was derived from angel tears with pecans on top. Holy cats, it wasn't what I was expecting but man it was delicious!! The server misunderstood us and bought two, when we just wanted one, and very graciously didn't charge us for the second; of course we gave him a good tip, as he was super polite, and really great. I would so come here for dinner or lunch when we come back to Natchez! It's a neat place, with great desserts, and awesome people. That makes me a fan!

In truth, we were heading to another place for lunch and we saw this place and we figure we stop here; especially when it was 95 outside. A good old' sweet tea was callin' our name. Ambiance - 4 Stars - when you walk in, you are greeted with a huge bar with many seats, a huge selection of bottled liquor, quaint tables and bench seating. Ambiance: Your body becomes relaxed and stress free due to old brick, warm wood, and classic but whimsical pictures frames. Instantly a sweet tea is what your body is craving for or a lovely old fashion, if you prefer an "adult" drink. I believe in the evening, live blues music serenade you as patiently eat your entree. Due to our short time in Natchez, we were not able to stay and listen to the blue music. Service: 3 Stars Our server was young and enthusiastic but was nervous. We believe he began his training with us. Very attentive however, he sometimes forget to bring certain items to our table. With a friendly smile, I reminded him on the items that we requested. My friend and I remembered our time in the food industry and was nice to assist the new generation. We were once "a green horn" ourselves. The restaurant features Cajun New Orleans style food. Food: 3.25 - 3.75 Stars We ordered two lunch dishes and one dessert. Blues Burger - 3.5 Stars: Smoke shredded rib and chicken meat, sweet BBQ sauce, red onions, and crawfish queso served on a large biscuit bun. So, the biscuit burger was good however due to the characteristic nature of a baked "biscuit bun", the bun broke apart because of the BBQ sauce and crawfish queso. Definitely need a fork with this burger. Also, there is a lot going on with the flavor profile too. Sweet, savory, creamy and slightly salty. It was good but it needs a hint of citric acid, hot sauce or vinegar to hit the spicy / tangy profile. Jonnie Mae Burger: 3.75 Stars - it is an 8 oz hand Pattie beef topped with a generous portion of fried onion rings, a few fried pickles, fresh tomato and lettuce with a layer of honey sweet mustard on a brooch bun. I asked for medium rare however the beef was cooked to medium well. The burger was tender and juicy. Though topped with fried onions and pickles, you can taste the beef which made the burger more enjoyable. Sometimes, when a burger has a lot of toppings, the ingredients overpower the beefy taste. This is not the case with this one. The toppings complimented the beef. Definitely recommend this dish! Both entrees were served with Cajun fries which were good and crispy. For dessert, we ordered one serving of beignets (3.25 stars) with our coffee. They were three beignets generously sprinkled with powered sugar. They were hot and fresh however they were slightly small. Also the beignets were more square instead of round. It was flaky, but was slightly doughy. They were enjoyable with the coffee. It was even better by dipping the Beignets into the coffee. The chicory flavor of the coffee gave a slight bitterness to the beignets. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch and the chill atmosphere of Biscuits and Blues. Looking forward and trying their other dishes. Especially when they have live music during evening time. Possibly will order a good old-fashioned drink too. We both recommend a place.
