First time to Natchez and this did not disappoint. We made reservations for 4 at 8pm on Friday night. We all ordered the 8 oz filet and they were cooked to perfection. It was a slow and enjoyable meal with good company and a great wine selection! The trees were magical at night - lit up well. We watched a patron become agitated and hostile at a table near us. He was upset that he had waited 27 minutes to get this main course. He was borderline belligerent. We felt sorry for their wait person, but she handled it well considering the circumstances. The manager interacted with him, and the more she apologized to him, the louder he got. We thought we were going to have to get up and intervene. She handled it beautifully. All of the wait staff were working hard and provided us with good service. The manager even offered to take our group photo outside as we were the last to leave. We will definitely return! read more

Food was pretty good. Old fashioned was the best I've ever had. However, our waitress...older white female. Could not smile, not the friendliest, appeared annoyed to be at work, forgot a soup and our bread (never came). She hardly appeared and when she would walk by and see our glasses empty, she would leave for another 15 minutes until we requested something. Ended up asking another employee to help us pay our tab because she kept disappearing. Very poor service. read more

Leah and Lauren took excellent care of us. My husband had the roasted beet and warm goat cheese salad and the filet. I had the duck breast with pomegranate molasses. Both were fabulous! The music was played softly as background (I hate it when you have to raise your voice at the table to have conversation) Highly recommend the Castle!! read more

We had 6:45 pm reservations but got there about 30 minutes early and they were very gracious to get us seated early.. beautiful place, good food very attractively served and good size portions.. very reasonable prices surprisingly! A good surprise.. the hostess was extremely nice and the accommodative.. and the space was quiet enough for a great date night place.. only downside the waitress.. did her job and nothing else.. definitely go and enjoy!! read more

I visit Natchez multiple times per year and honestly, there aren't many restaurants. I usually book The Castle each time I go and am disappointed time and time again. I am officially done. I knew I was attending Angels on the Bluff and booked reservations two months in advance. We walk in and are seated at a two top. That aggravates me to no end when there were only 3 other tables taken. We watched as the next 3 couples come in and are seated at full size comfortable tables. Then, a 4 top walks in and even though there are empty tables everywhere, they are seated directly next to us, which is the problem with the stupid two tops so why use them if it isn't necessary? So my husband and I couldn't have a conversation because we are 8 inches from 4 people who are talking nonstop and loud! Why do restaurants do this? You are ruining a nice dinner. Since we were literally on top of the other table, we could hear our waitress tell them all about the specials which we never were given. We were just told everything that they were "out of." Our waitress, while friendly, just kept telling every table about how busy they were and how they were out of so many things. They had 7 total tables over the course of the time we were there. Almost all tables were empty. How is this busy? Who is ordering food? How do you not forecast appropriately? The shrimp were frozen and tough. The salad was soggy with too much dressing. This place needs new management because the last three trips have been a bust! read more

We had dinner in the pub area while visiting Natchez. We had fried oysters , pickles and pork belly for appetizers. They were all delicious. I had the Lamb and Mash for my entree and it was fabulous! We had the Chocolate Flight and cheesecake for dessert and they did not disappoint. The service was incredible, we had a great time. read more

We had dinner at the pub. The service was excellent but the food was very poor. Probably the worst shrimp and grits I had ever eaten. Hamburger was dry and tasteless. Overpriced for sure. My husband had tried to make a reservation for my birthday but was not told that only the downstairs portion was open. Would not recommend at all. Beautiful grounds and restaurant. Everything is amazing. We hosted a rehearsal dinner there and they catered our wedding since it was on the property. The best food in Natchez in my opinion. The bar manager and chef are fantastic. All the waitstaff are amazing and so kind. Brisket 10/10. Salmon 10/10. Adult drinks 10/10. Seafood dip 10/10. Everything they prepared for our wedding was so good I could have ate myself sick! The atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect for a nice dinner with friends and the bar area is a laid back rustic cool place. read more

This place is hidden off the beaten path right outside the city. The property as with others is immaculate. They have a bar area downstairs, and a restaurant upstairs. We visited both, while we waited for our dinner reservations. It's a limited menu, however what they have was exquisite. Not a fan of the fried lobster, however the menu a good mix of options. What was interesting about this menu was that there was no fish options, which was ok. The staff is very personable and know how to treat each guest. Entree prices vary between $18 and $40 per person. read more

The Castle @ Dunleith redeemed itself this evening. The cuisine and our waiter Cortez were off the chain! What an incredible dining experience-rivaling the best restaurants of New Orleans! Everyone in our party was overly impressed with the quality and presentation! Each dish was brilliantly executed and tantalizing! Cortez was the best waiter I have encountered in years. Newly reopened after burning closed for a couple of years. The new owners have done and outstanding renovation of the building, adding a deck and covered outdoor seating for the pub downstairs. New Chef Doug Hosford has created a menu with a good selection of items The food and service were excellent on a busy Saturday night. We had dinner in the pub. Happy hour is all night on Monday so it was our lucky day. We had an awesome server,Savannah! We got the Gouda fries as an appetizer with our drinks. We had a cosmo and an old fashion, each done very well. Savannah said the fries were great and she was right. I had the mussels and my husband had the shrimp and grits. Both were excellent and the broth from the mussels was very flavorful. I got extra crostini so the broth wouldn't go to waste. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, maybe next time since we will definitely return. The furnishings were comfortable and on theme, including the display case of swords. Prefect date night spot in Natchez! We've come here for two different anniversary dinners and it's been great every time. The bar downstairs is cozy & cool, awesome drinks! The food, service and hospitality was fantastic. Our waitress was Ashley and was awesome. I had shrimp and grits that were creamy with the right amount of veggies and sauce. Over priced but the service was good and the food was delicious. The salad was average. The duck gumbo was average. The red fish was done exceptionally well. Carpaccio was done well. I will definitely go back for the experience, but the food was overpriced for the quality. Up your quality or decrease the price...... make your choices, but you Cannot decrease the quality and increase the price at the same time that will not work. If I come back and one or the other is not fixed, then I will not be back for a 3rd time and I eat out at a nice restaurant twice a week. I and my wife were seriously impressed with the food and the service. For me, I had the fried lobster and I don't know how they put it together but the combination made every tastebud in my mouth come alive. It was just awesome in taste and a dish I shall remember fondly for years to come...it was that good to me. The wife had the duck and she also was impressed. And the service, well Shirley was on top of it all and we wanted for NOTHING!! Overall, a great dining experience and I fully recommend it to all. read more
