Mrs. Misty was great. Breakfast Burrito was a hit for sure. Great people and music definitely would recommend.

The service was really good as we were greeted when we arrived and our server was very attentive. The food was good although the kitchen forgot to add the toppings to the cheese fries. The ambiance was fair. It's a small establishment in a small town. It's also pretty clean. We'd visit again if in the area. read more

We were in Marksville for a conference and decided to eat at Nanny's. We went expecting breakfast only to find out that breakfast was not all day. That is a suggestion to maybe consider serving breakfast at least until 2p. However, the food was delicious. We had, bone-in wings for appetizers, 3 strips of catfish with onion rings, T-bone steak with eggs and toast, and the chicken fried steak with creamed potatoes. All three dishes were really tasty. The food was freshly cooked and came out hot. That was really appreciated. A couple of recommendations - have server mention that the steaks are thin and offer to put the gravy on the side for the chicken fried steak. Our server was only 3 weeks in, but she was attentive and timely. The atmosphere was good as well. We will eat there again. read more

Service was a little slow but friendly. The food was served quickly once ordered and tasted good.

Food was good, service was great. we enjoyed a nice breakfast for reasonable price. Waitress was friendly and accommodating.

We stopped at Nanny's for lunch before the unveiling of the statue of Solomon Northup on Sunday. Waitress helped get the kitchen to get our order quickly because of our time limitation. All was very good!! read more

The restaurant was clean and the service was good. I ordered shrimp and grits and received four shrimp which were good. They were served over grits half of which were cold and the entire portion was not seasoned. The cost was $20 and was not worth it. read more

This place is great. The food is amazing. the menu is diverse and place is clean, and service was exceptional.

Service, food were perfect. Better than the old Nanny's. The food looked very appetizing

I enjoyed my breakfast at Nanny's. My server was more than hospitable. She made sure I knew what the "special" was that morning and it was exactly what I wanted: 2 eggs sunny side up, bacon, grits and a biscuit. I could not have made it better myself and I can fry or poach some "perfect" eggs. There are no negatives with my first visit. The Community Coffee was delicious and my server filled my "to go" travel mug. My meal, coffee and tip was less than $10 and so much better than McDonalds or the IHOP! Louisiana hospitality at its finest. #ThumbsUp read more

When you walk in it smells like a diner should, rich flavorful smells of goodness! It's an old diner it's quaint. It's clean and there's plenty of seating! They have a special little line by the cash register a kind of cafeteria hot food line and they fill up plates and to go containers. A nice menu burgers steaks and sea food. A nice little salad bar they brought a bowl for me to make my dinner salad, I like that just fine! I had some of their potato salad too it's really good! Julie had a big bowl of vegetable beef soup and I had a hamburger steak both came with garlic bread, I had mashed potatoes too. I was full when I left and that's the idea. Our server was fun, but she was busy hopping from table to table. Nanny's is on our list of good places to go when we head back to Marksville!! Next time I'm going to try a burger! Y'all come in and get some good food!!! read more

Awesome breakfast- great service! Found this place on Yelp after waking up at Paragon on a Saturday morning with no good breakfast options. My wife ordered the Deluxe Breakfast and I ordered the Chilaquiles with an extra side of French Toast. Food was super fresh and tasty, well prepared, and we washed it down with bubbly Diet Coke and some perfectly brewed Community Coffee. Prices were very reasonable. It was exactly what we were looking for and we're so glad we decided to venture out from the casino. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed. read more

This was a decent diner we stopped at on our way to Natchitoches. Our waitress was friendly, and even brought some complimentary cake out. The booths were all ripped up and the diner is a little on the run down side altogether. What do you expect from a place called Nanny's though? I ordered the buger and fries which was on special. It was decent, nothing to write home about though. The fries were not seasoned at all, no salt nothing. I asked for a side of ranch and that was not the best ranch I have had. I highly doubt they make it fresh. read more

We were looking for a hole in the wall and we found one. Unfortunately We wanted brunch and we went in too late. They stop at 10:20! But its okay because they had free chocolate cake! That was sweet of them to give us. When we walked in there was a regular who seemed to really like his burger. We also heard that their twice baked potatoes are really good. Gotta say tho, we've got way better burger joints in Zachary (our local) and the fries were plain too. But it was cheap and friendly. Thanks for the sustenance on our trip! read more

We stopped at Nanny's on a Saturday morning when we were traveling through Marksville. It has a cool small town feel. The staff were very friendly and the customers were relaxed and happy. We ordered the basics. Two eggs, grits, bacon and toast with coffee. The coffee was fresh and the food was prepared with care. It felt like we were at home. Someone next to us ordered the All-In-One Breakfast Combo. It looked amazing. I will come back here if in the area and looking for breakfast or just a place to hang out, read more

I'm from Lafayette and when I "moved" here I ate at this place and was very skeptical at first but when I walked in I was greeted by the nicest lady ever, who now my son loves (he calls her his friend now). The food is amazing, I honestly can say I have never eaten such amazingly FRESH and hot meal. Thank you so much for serving this town with respect and good food. read more

First time eating here and me and my wife loved it. It remind me of the plate lunch from the church lunches.

Oh my goodness. That chicken and sausage gumbo. Best I've ever had. I believe they've ruined me for all other gumbo. Amazing. That is all.

Very comfortable small town place of business, friendly staff, the food was delicious. The price very reasonable. Will go back for lunch buffett . read more

We enjoy dining at Nanny's! There's nothing like a meal that taste like it's right out of Mamas kitchen. The food is delicious. My favorite side is the onion rings. For a mouth watering steak, Nanny's satisfies my craving for a juicy, well cooked steak and potato. The staff is always welcoming with a vocal greeting and friendly smile. Many of the servers address us by name. Marksville is blessed to offer this home style dining experience in the heart of our community! read more

Nanny's is my go to breakfast joint in the Ville. Their bacon is consistently crispy and nice thick pieces. My favorite is an egg, biscuits, grits and bacon. Can't go wrong with this at Nanny's. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is consistently greasy spoon in a down home country southern way. But be sure to not be late because they stop serving breakfast at 10:30 and they don't bend this rule. read more

Great biscuits, these thing are huge, fluffy, fresh and flavorful. I had two eggs overeasy and ham..

We stopped by Nannys on a Friday morning while on a visit to the area. We waited to be greeted or told to take a seat and that was slow coming. We finally got menus ( which was very soiled paper) .After a nice wait we got to order. Then about !5 minutes later we got OUR GREAT MEAL. They only had 5-6 other customers . Dry hard cold toast ,cold grits cold HOT cakes ,bacon that must have been from a wild hog .I ask nicely for warm food & got MICROWAVE WARMED UP EXCUSE FOR PANCAKES. My wifes hashbrowns make Mc D s look great.Ask for syrup & butter .Get watered down ****.Had to ask for coffee . Which was fair. We have been all over the country & had good & Bad food/service. THIS HAS TO BE IN THE TOP 5 FOR THE WORST OF BOTH! NOT WHAT WE NORMALLY GET WHEN WE VISIT LOUISANA. read more

Best breakfast I have had in a long time. Small town charm mixed with grandmas home cooking defines Nanny's. The staff is wonderful and the coffee is hot. I had the eggs, bacon, hashbrown, biscuit breakfast and was left feeling very full. The tea is also very good. I would definitely give this place a look if you are in Marksville. read more

While headed home from being out of town, my family and I (5 total In our group) stopped in for a quick breakfast. Using my Yelp app I found this little gem and boy it didn't disappoint. Smiles and friendly talk from our waitress, prices better than I've seen in years and some oh so yummy breakfast food that had me ready for a nap once I finished every bite. Definitely worth stopping in if you're ever in the area. read more

We always look for 'the hole in the wall' to stop at during our travels. Nanny's didn't disappoint. Friendly staff that make you feel like you're visiting at their home. Breakfast was perfect. Don't let the older furnishings stop you from eating here. It's nanny's restaurant so just envision granny's house. read more

Diner feel and love. Good food, cheap prices, and the service makes you feel like you're at home.

Food was ok. I was hoping it would have been true Cajun. Was really wanting a shrimp PB so we ordered one. Thinking I'd get an overstuffed PB.... wrong. 4 shrimp..big shrimp that was flattened and not on PB bread (french bread where I'm from). Service was ok. read more

Nanny's is a great example of Louisiana hospitality! We are traveling from Texas and saw this on Yelp. The lady running the place and her staff are sweet and very accommodating. We wanted a late breakfast around 11am and they weren't serving breakfast anymore. But she made us the best BLT with eggs I've ever had. Coffee was good too! read more

Good breakfast at a reasonable price. This morning I had the biscuits with gravy along with a side of bacon and hash browns. I had coffee and ice water to drink. The biscuits were homemade and really good. The gravy was your typical white gravy from a distributor, but they put some sausage in there. The gravy with sausage had just a tinge of spicy to it, just the way I like it. The hash brown was a pre-made frozen patty type. I would have preferred some shredded potatoes or home fries, but they were good enough. The coffee was good, but was served in a tiny cup, maybe 50-75% size of a regular cup. So overall, the food was good. The service was ok. They could have checked up on me a time or two after I was served. They were friendly enough. The total bill came up to $10 + tip. They did have free wifi. I'd give it 3-1/2 stars and would definitely go back for another visit. read more

I've come here since I was little. The service is always great, even when busy, and they remember their usual customers and treat everyone like family. Mr. Byron is very kind, and one waitress there, Pam, was so kind to my family; we regularly keep in touch now and are like family friends. This is a family restaurant through and through. So while you shouldn't expect an immaculate fancy dinner, you can expect immaculate service. read more
