I had this company clean several roofs at two separate properties this past week and was definitely not satisfied with the job they did. Simply put, the roofs are largely still dirty. I will have to hire another company to finish the job. They left lots of moss, both dead and alive, still clinging to the tiles and shingles. I know there was going to be a little detritus left but not THIS much. Parts of the roofs look like they didn't bother brushing the moss off before spraying their cleaning solution on top. Now I have a roof full of bleached moss, yay. It looks atrocious. I don't think I received good results given the price they charged. It's just not a good value for what I got. Made an appointment on Monday for service on Friday. Wednesday received a call that the Friday appointment needed to be canceled due to "vehicle maintenance" being done - appointment moved to Sunday, between 11-1pm. Sunday @ 1:15 no show...90 minutes and 3 phone calls (that we initiated) later, appointment was canceled via text. The scheduler had no way to contact the technician and wasn't receiving any reply from a manager. Totally unreliable and unprofessional. Will never use this company and will be sure to share this information with any neighbors who asks. read more

They cleaned a roof for me that was admittedly heavy with moss but when they said "clean", what they meant was "we took a leaf blower to it first, sprayed some bleach on the moss, brushed it with a feather, left it to dry and that's that". I know this, I was there. I questioned them on it because I was led to believe by their estimator that the roof would be CLEAN, not left fuzzy white. To their credit, they did come back to "brush" it again but it still looks really bad. I know they couldn't get everything off, that was a given because the roof was quite mossy and it is quite steep, but it doesn't look like they tried very hard. Speaking with customer service doesn't help. They say nice words but ultimately, they don't care. They merely double down on "we cleaned the roof but...". I'm trying to sell this house. There is NO way any sane buyer is going to look at this roof and want to buy the house. I now have to hire ANOTHER company to finish what Johnny Tsunami failed to complete. I wasted several thousand dollars on this and now have to pay another several thousand dollars to have the roof cleaned properly. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone. I requested no zinc as we are waterfront, crew arrived and did not know what was in the mix, had to make several calls to clarify- though jugs of powder not labeled , no notes on our estimate. At first only applied to ridge lines until I asked to add to midline as quoted. Clean up very poor- blew debris into my rock garden and lawn, one side not clean. Poor quality work, poor warranty, poor quality customer service. We winter in Arizona, and had JT clean our homes gutters (In Suquamish, WA) in November of 2023 after the leaves and needles were done falling. When we came back from Arizona in early spring, 2 gutters had water flowing over the top because they were plugged. I called JT to ask what their warranty of work was, they only stated 10 days, and assured me their top pro had done the work, so couldn't be their problem. The top pro had also left his tools in the yard, but that's another matter. I unclogged the gutters myself, which were full of needles that I suspect had fallen before JT "cleaned" the gutters. We spent over a thousand dollars to have our gutters cleaned, only to get attitude from the person who answered the phone. No offer of assistance, or to even just come take a look. They just lost a long time customer, with customer service like that why bother. read more

We enjoyed the quick scheduling and everyone was friendly and quick to respond. The technicians also had good attitudes. We are first time customers of pressure washing services so didn't know what to expect. I think in retrospect we wish we would have known more about the process. They used our hoses and even a push broom without letting us know and left the broom caked with debris. Also a part of the area needing washed didn't get done and the tech didn't reach to ask us about it during the job, just assumed it wasn't needed- which seems strange. I'm a little concerned for an increase to our water bill bc the washing took twice the amount of time quoted. We did appreciate they worked with us on the bill when some last minute adjustments to the work were required. End of the day, I think we'd use their services again but we will wait and see how the quality of work plays out over the next few months. read more

We paid Johnny Tsunami for full interior/exterior window cleaning, roof cleaning and gutter cleaning. They arrived at the scheduled time but only half completed the job and then quickly sent us an invoice. The gutters were not cleaned, many interior windows were not fully cleaned and nearly every windowsill and interior window frame was not clean. All these items were in the quoted work but not performed. We requested them to come out and complete the work, but even on a second visit it was not compelte The gutter right on the front of the house is full of debris and was not even touched in two visits. Seriously, this was such a horrible miss. I can see it from a front window! They have now requested photo proof so I have gone around the inside and outside of my house, climbing on roofs and ladders to document their clear failure to complete. All this for $3400 dollars! We had moss removed from the roof and the net result is excellent. Our roof is clean. Staff was also friendly. The 2 guys that arrived to do the work were professional and seem knowledgeable. Scheduling was a little rough. When staff arrived on site to do the work, there was confusion over what I expected vs. the quote. They get marked down a couple of starts for two reasons: First, they seemed knowledgeable and concerned about plant damage. At first they talked about putting out tarps to protect the plants, and then decided it wasn't necessary. We lost several plants from the over spray. Second, they have a year round program where you pay a flat fee for moss control and get windows washed also. It needs to be signed up for within a short period after the initial moss removal (this was last fall, I don't remember the exact time frame). I tried for several weeks to get details and questions answered. The lady that I was working with had to go back to someone else for answers for everything. I never did get straight answers to my questions, and just gave up before ordering the service. They were also very pushy about online 5 star reviews. I think they would do well t focus on a good product and good customer service, and let the reviews flow naturally. read more

We have large cedars close to the house and they deposit lots of pollen on the roof. JP and Alex did a great job cleaning to the point where it's looks like new. Needed moss removal on a roof. JS came out in a timely manner to perform the work. The cost was high, over $1200. The worker told me there would be an extra $200 charge for cleaning the gutters, which was kind of confusing and the charges never materialized in the final invoice. The moss was scraped off and a treatment was applied. I would advise you leave your residence during this process, as the fumes are very noxious. I think the worker was here for less than 4 hours. There was a significant amount of debris that I had to clean up after the the JS work was done. It was primarily located in the back of the residence where it would not be noticed. Had to scrape heavy moss off some minor roofs over doorways and a shed that was overlooked. I had some concerns about the effectiveness of the treatment due to a massive rainstorm that occurred minutes after the treatment. JS assures me they will reevaluate in March if there is live moss on the roof at that time. Stay tuned... One side note. JS requires a deposit for half the cost of the work and then will charge your card for the remainder (without your permission) one day after the work is complete, regardless if you are satisfied or not. read more

Two and a half hours into that window I received a call to say that they would be late but that they would be there in an hour, or less. Then they failed to show up. I've been using Johnny Tsunami for quite a few years for roof cleaning. The price has always been around $275. Today they came and then emailed me a bill for the same services for $584!! More than double the price. This is price gouging at its worst. A few cups of powder for $100? A new travel surcharge of $48? The basic cleaning went from under $200 to $448! I'm all for paying a fair price for services, but this is robbery. UPDATE: After sending an email to the company complaining they lowered the price to $389. This is still a 42% increase which I consider ridiculous but certainly better than the 112% increase. read more

Was looking for some moss removal upper roof and upper gutters cleaned and Johnny Tsunami popped up in my search. Shortly after contacting them, JP scheduled a consult for next day. He was very detailed in explaining the best way to remove the build up of moss on the roof and even went so far as to tell me what to request from another company if they were less expensive. I felt the quote was reasonable, and they offered a 5% military discount, so I went with them. They were able to schedule me within a few days of booking them, and Gavin was the technician that showed up. He was very professional and upbeat and performed the requested service very efficiently. Unfortunately, he ran out of the treatment powder used to prevent moss build up, but he returned a couple days later to make sure the service was completed. The company didn't finalize my charge until the work was finished either. The original visit, obviously a sales person, was pleasant and very informative. I did not have moss but was trying to be proactive and keep the slight algae greening from expanding. I was told a roof cleaning with a garden type hose pressure was the way to go, not a pressure wash as the salesperson had advised against. Then an application of special material sprinkled on to the roof to help protect it..... What I got was a crew of two who came and left after blowing the roof off, sprinkling the "stuff" then leaving...all for a low cost of a little shy of 425 for less than 45 minutes of work. The skylights were extra which I knew but once I received the bill I was charged for the skylights, time and cleaning supplies. Very pricey. I could have hired a local as do most people in the area and saved quite a lot of money. When I called to ask about the bill, once again I got the savy salesperson with all the right answers but no reduction in price. I will not use them again. read more

I was extremely disappointed with my experience using JT. I heard about them on Seattle Refined and was excited to see the incredible results shown during the program. We live in a heavily wooded area so moss is always growing and I thought, why not hire a professional service to clear this away. Someone followed up with me quite quickly and there was an estimator out within a week. He was extremely friendly and walked me through the entire process of what needed to happen. Fast forward a few weeks later when the job was supposed to start and that is when my experience went downhill. First off, the guy showed up to the wrong house and when I told him that I would walk down to the driveway to meet him, he was already upset because he had set up at the wrong house and went on about how confusing this area was (but the estimator didn't have an issue getting here) I work from home so I was kind of keeping an eye on what he was doing and I was pretty shocked that I paid an additional fee to have my top windows cleaned and all he did was scrub them with water, no post wash squeegee or wipe so now you can see old dirt AND the water streaks over every window he "washed." Additionally, I paid a few hundred dollars for a deep clean because the moss was quite thick on the house. When he was done, it looked like he barely touched the roof so I asked him and he said the treatment would take it away in 6 weeks. I went out there over the weekend and was easily able to remove the moss with a household broom. I paid over $1,000 for this service when I could have done a better job if I had the time. And the top on this already questionable sundae, he dumped the moss right in our front yard!!! He should have taken it with him, or at the very least, he could have asked me if there was an area he could have dumped it and I would have gladly shown him.
