Charming Small-Town Vibe, But Coffee Lacks Strength…read more We discovered this cafe on the way to our hike while searching for a morning caffeine fix. The establishment offers a charming small-town vibe and features unique local artwork on display that is also available for purchase. The breakfast dine-in area appeared quite busy during our visit. Because the staff members were multitasking--juggling both the artifact shop sales and the cafe counter--we experienced a bit of a wait just to have our order taken. For amenities, the location features a single all-gender restroom. While the coffee menu boasts a great variety of options, the actual drinks were disappointing. None of us felt any of the expected effects from our orders; the coffee felt significantly weak and entirely lacked a caffeine kick. This location may be a suitable stop if you are ordering a plain Americano or sitting down for breakfast, but I would not recommend it for their specialty or fancy coffee menu items if you are looking for a strong energy boost.

And my wife? She's officially addicted to the cinnamon rolls. If you're passing through Camp Verde or looking for a great local spot, this place is absolutely worth the stop.

I ordered online via the subway app and one of the persons I happened to order a sandwich for asked…read moreme to see if they'd be able to toast the Italian sandwich. I was in the store already waiting and quickly asked the lady who seemed to be the manager if one of the subs could be toasted and apologized for the late message. By the time I had asked one of the Italian subs had already been completed and the second Italian sub was about to be, the manager didn't hesitate to tell the worker to scratch off the toppings and toast the sub and then to redo the toppings. This seemed to have bothered the worker assigned to the task, Annabelle, as she had to redo the toppings she began to make smart comments about me asking to toast the sandwich using the phrase "before she tells me I forgot." As she made this comment she happened to look up at me as I already heard what she said and was looking back at her. I did not appreciate Annabelle's unnecessary comments that were snarky and disrespectful. Do not work in customer service if you are not friendly and kind to customers and get frazzled at their requests for the food they are paying to eat. Had it not been for the manager doing her job well, I would've rated this subway 1 star. The sandwiches themselves were well so 2 stars I feel is deserving.

This lack of accuracy caused a significant inconvenience to our schedule. I highly encourage the management or ownership to update their operating hours on Google and Yelp as soon as possible so future customers do not experience the same frustration.

Our server gave the impression that we were more of an inconvenience than valued customers, which made the meal less enjoyable. As for the food, it was edible, but that's about the best I can say. Everything was very bland and lacked the flavor and quality we were hoping for. It feels like the restaurant may be relying on the fact that there isn't much local competition, which can sometimes lead to less attention being paid to service and food quality. We always hope to support local businesses, but this experience fell well short of our expectations. Hopefully they'll make some improvements in the future.
