We stopped at Charleys Cheesesteaks on the way back from Sedona because the kids had reached that point where patience is gone and everything turns into a negotiation. Honestly, for a place right off the highway, it did exactly what we needed it to do. Ordering was quick, which mattered. When you've got a car full of kids, speed isn't a luxury, it's survival. Food came out fast too, no long wait, no confusion, just trays hitting the table and everyone immediately quieting down. That alone earns points. The cheesesteaks were solid. Not trying to compete with anything you'd find in Philly, but warm, filling, and actually pretty satisfying after a long day out. Fries were crispy, portions were decent, and nobody walked away still hungry, which is really the whole mission in that moment. Place was clean, staff kept things moving, and it felt organized even with a decent crowd coming through. Only reason it's not a full five stars is because it's still fast food at the end of the day. Nothing here is going to blow your mind, and the atmosphere is pretty standard for a highway stop. But for what it is? It delivered. Here is a new place that I decided to try. The first thing I noticed is that there were only four very small tables inside which were taken. It wasn't busy, but even so I couldn't sit down to eat like I wanted to. I ordered the number two combo which is a regular Philly cheesesteak fries, and a drink. They asked if I wanted to upgrade and get cheese on my fries. So I did. Since I had to order it to go, I ate in my van. I was very happy with the cheesesteak. It was really good. The fries were just OK covered in liquid cheese. The service was friendly, but it's a gamble if you want to get a table inside and enjoy yourself while eating. I'll definitely give it another try when I'm craving a good cheesesteak. read more

Philly Cheesesteaks, chicken and beef, and wings. Went with regular beef cheesesteak (9") fries and Coke. They come with beef, onions, sweet peppers, mushrooms, provolone. Additionally you can add mayo, shredded lettuce, and tomatoes. I ordered regular beef, cheese, onions, peppers and mayo. The sandwich was a bit lopsided and sloppy. They just opened and I think the cooks are still figuring things out. The sandwich, for the price seemed pretty light on ingredients. The cheese appeared sufficient but left me with a where's the beef question. The beef was like "steakums" vs fresh cut. The flavor was decent, the green peppers had a nice flavor pop. The provolone was very nice. But beef don't hit big and bold like a genuine cheesesteaks. The fries were delicious, portions a wee bit small but acceptable. The service was welcoming, accurate but sandwiches were coming out slow. The place had about six sandwiches to do when we got there and our two sandwiches took about 30 minutes to prepare. Gas station dining. Not even at its best in such a category. I've been to some cute food places in gas stations, and this is not one of those. Extremely basic and kind of depressing looking. And as for the food? Fast food, really no different from Wendy's or Burger King. Yeah those are big international chains while this is a small local chain but by itself that does not make the food any better. The ultimate question is, would I come back? And the answer is no. If you want to dine in, be aware that they're only four small tables. Not clear why there are so few, since there is a lot of empty space. read more

Decided to try this new drive thru as it sounded promising and there are not many options in Camp Verde. Fast ordering, sounded good, but the chicken option tasted bad. Fed to my dogs when got home. Was not even much of the chicken mush on the sandwich anyway. Got the mozzarella sticks and those were decent. Maybe the steak is good but not sure I'll even try again. We needed something quick and yummy and cheap. I've never been to a Charley's before but I'll be back for sure. Fast food isn't a go to for me because it makes me sick most of the time. But I didn't get sick from this place! I got a philly cheesesteak and pepperoni cheesesteak. Both were fantastic. The service was great and fast. It was less than 10 minutes after we ordered. Hardly any meat on the sandwiches. They advertise "The best cheessteaks in the world!" Honestly the worst I have ever had. An authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich doesn't come with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I skipped the "toppings". Mine was supposed to have meat, cheese, and mushrooms. All I got was meat and cheese. I got the small sandwich and at best there was 3 ounces of meat on it. Here is a photo of what they advertise, and what the second half of my sandwich looked like when I thought about taking a picture for a review. The bread was fresh and the meat was tender (thus 2 stars instead of 1), but far from what they advertise. Won't be returning. read more

The food is ok but it takes forever even when they are slow. no sense of urgency at all. I literally backed out of their drive thru because after 14 minutes they still had not even taken my order. We decided to try out the new place tonight. It is nice to have a different option. Of course it is new, but it was nice and clean including the bathrooms. I was getting ours to go, but there wasn't really many dining options. . I think over time, they will expand to accommodate their customers with additional seating options. The food was good, but messy ( it is a cheesesteak!). We especially liked the fries. What I would really like to add is the customer service was exceptional. Every member of their team was happy to be there and it show because they cared about what they were doing and the experience you were having or going to have. Good job! read more
