My folks are from Boston so it's like a little slice of home out west! I've been here more than a few times and am always pleased. The service is top notch. The staff and owners are beyond grateful and always have a cheerful attitude. No mater what you get it will be great. I've had pizza, hot dogs, burgers, Philly cheesesteak, and spaghetti it's all packed with flavor and plenty of food for the price. The atmosphere is welcoming with funny Boston sayings, art from sports complex's and even a corner with local paintings. The woman at the counter was very nice. I had the Lobster roll. The so called lobster tasted like immitation crab bathed in ketchup. I took one bite and we left. I wouldn't recommend. Been reading reviews for some time and a friend went a few weeks back complimenting the lobster roll. I have a hard time with seafood in AZ, so I opted for a meatball and sausage hoagie. While it's not on the menu, they accommodated my request. I ordered the foot long, knowing I'd get another meal out of it. I took my number and found a seat in the ample dining area. This is a family owned and run business and they have lots of local repeat customers, where they know people by name! The Sammie was great! Ample portions of meatballs and sausage (not links). The marinara is house made and spiced just right...lots of mozzarella and topped with oregano. I used the Hot Honey BBQ sauce as a drizzle with some crushed red pepper and oh my ! I don't eat cheesesteaks anywhere else around the Verde Valley except Acme, no one else does it right. Same for their Italian subs, truly delish! Love that they offer personal size pizza, great for a single person, Da Wise Guy burger, very yum! Ronnilee and Roland not only care about their product but they care so much about their customers, everyone gets treated like family. There is a LOT of love that goes into this business. If you are not frequenting this business, you are missing out on some yummy food and no doubt the best customer service around. Great little indoor space and love that they have patio seating. As a new family to the area we've tried almost all of the restaurants locally to get a feel for where we'd like to regularly eat. We eat out aaaa lot so we have to find our go to's. We stopped into Acme one evening and it was such a great experience. I was reminded of the pizza place back home that was my first job, family owned and a place that truly takes pride in everything they serve. We were greeted with a friendly voice and a smile as if we had been there many times before.. We ordered sandwiches and our son had chicken wings/tenders.. the bread.. AMAZING!! The melty cheese.. AMAZING.. oh and who's going to complain about cookies? Not me! We've gone back almost weekly since our first visit and greeted with that same smiling friendly face and even though they probably see soooo many different people, you know you and your family are recognized.. the order is almost a known as a regular order, it's such a great feeling. There's a little something for everyone but when I read my April 2019 Arizona Highways Magazine and saw that Acme Pizzaria's Steak Special Philly was one of the 10 sandwiches you need to eat in 2019, that's all you needed to say and I've been eating them in 2019, 2020, 2021 and will continue in 2022! The dictionary definition of acme is "the top", "the highest point", or just "perfection". Perfection is the perfect word for their Philly's! The bread is soft, the meat, peppers, onions and mushrooms are in a hot blanket of ooey, gooey cheese that is just heaven when you bite into it! You can tell that everything here is good by how busy they are and I have had other great things from their menu, but I am so in love with their Special Philly's both the steak and chicken! Just so tasty and satisfying that I could just roll up in one! I typically take the food to go and eat in a local park and there's always a happy face or a message on the box to make your day! The first time my husband had an Acme Pizzaria Steak Special Philly, he understood what all of my praise for this sandwich was about! I ordered lobster roll to go this week. The roll was excellent, but I was disappointed that the roll was filled with fake Krab, not lobster. I am calling this out as a fraud because "lobster roll" has a specific meaning. Krab salad isn't lobster. There was no disclaimer in the menu. And these folks claim to be New Englanders, so no excuse. They also claim to serve haddock as their 'fish and chips'. Are they substituting tilapia? Can't speak to their claims regarding Philly cheese sub or burgers, but this 'fishy' episode has left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

My intention was to not post anything on line, just verbally let them know we weren't satisfied. The supposed 'owner' answered and started to let me complain, however less than half way thru she started talking over me letting me know our complaint was because of our lack of taste. She 100% refused to give me her name as I was telling her I was now going to put this on line and then she hung up on me!!! We have waited over a year to order from them as money is tight, and $30 later we are grossly dissatisfied!!! So tired coming back from hiking trails that pizza sounded terrific. We stopped here and were delighted with the pizza we ordered. So Hot! So Flavorful! So Quick! The most interesting thing is that in the box, they place the pizza on this nylon mat, so the crust doesn't get soggy. Genius! In addition, on your way up to the order counter they have all kinds of little desserts, or ice creams you could purchase. You know, just the little sweet something after you wolf down the pizza. This could be the best Philly Cheese Steak sandwich in AZ! (There is a sign that says so). Quite Authentic ( I've spent a lot of time in Philly). You can get it anyway you like. The fries are always hot and crispy. Never greasy! Ambiance is like a Boston Deli.
