It's good. I'm from California and really good pizza is hard to find in the Verde Valley...Sedona included. For the value it's good and it's a long standing family owned business which I love to support. The dough is fresh, it's very low key, locals love it so that says a lot! They have a pretty vast menu and I only ordered pizza, so I can only speak on my experience. Restaurants in Camp Verde are few and far between and honestly I believe Crusty's IS the only casual pizza/Italian place. read more

Ate for sustenance but wouldn't go back for the pizza. Ordered bbq chicken and vegetarian pizzas. Bbq chicken had few chicken pieces and the bbq sauce tasted like sweet syrup. Vegetarian was more passable but lacked any clear vegetable flavors like everything had been baked from a frozen state. read more

We've lived in the Verity Valley for number of years, but had never tried Crusty's. Now I question why we waited so long. Love the local vibe. Loved the food even more. We had the hot Italian sub and a medium pepperoni pizza. They're exactly how you would hope they would taste. The sub was delicious and the pizza crust was on point. I called in a to go order for a antipasto salad and breadsticks on a Saturday, early evening, Food was excellent. A large Salad easily will feed 3-4 people. Side note. IF you are wanting a to go order, please please call ahead. On the weekends especially they get very busy. They unfortunately don't have extra staff on hand. To go orders get put into the same food making que as those who choose to dine in. You might have to wait a while before your food is ready. I called my order in at 4:30 PM and it was a 35 min wait. I made the mistake the weekend prior and walked in to place a to go order in person (5:30pm) and it was an almost 2 hour wait. I ordered a medium pizza and a small salad. When I went to pick it up, the two waitresses just kept talking behind the counter. They then told me that it was $33 for the medium pizza and small salad which is ridiculous. When I got home the salad looked good, but half way down there was brown lettuce and a couple of wilted pieces. The pizza was ok but nothing worth bragging about. She told me it was going to be 25 minutes for a Lg Pizza, I got to the shop and guessing is the same lady cause she couldn't hear me. First time we ate inside and ordered a pizza. This had a thicker crust than we normally like; however it was delicious. Plenty of toppings and loved the sauce. Tasted good the next day cold too. Service was good. Second visit was a takeout- Italian subs. Lots of meat and the bread was good. But when we got it home, the bottom of the sub was soggy in areas. Great taste though. read more

We've had several great experiences at Crusty's Pizza. The most recent one was March 28, 2026. The portions have always very generous and the food is always tasty. This particular visit, one of our party spilled their soda on the table and it ran onto the floor. Our waitress jumped into action and got the spill cleaned up right away and wouldn't let us do any of the cleaning even though it was our fault. While she was cleaning our mess, we were apologizing and the waitress jokingly said it's not the first time a patron has had such a mishap and probably wouldn't be the last. Food is great if you can get served. Walked in to do take out 35 minutes before closing and denied service. No welcome or kind words, just we are not doing anymore take out. Reason: "we have been busy all day". I wanted a salad and a pizza and could not get either. Asked for take out because it was 32 minutes to close and we didn't want to be there past 8 which was closing. This service happens so often. We drive to dine in and before anything get told they are too busy to serve people so if we are not willing to wait 45-60 minutes then not the place for us. We wait and its never that long, but try saying hello and not snapping. We now wonder if it's worth the drive to get food when you are turned away because they are too busy to do the job. If you cannot serve till 8 pm on weekends then change your time. Be thankful you were busy that day and not complain you had to work. read more

Not much to look at from the outside but we really enjoyed this place! The antipasto salad is a must and huge! The pizza was great as well! Kind of dark inside and old school like the pizza joints back in the day. The older lady serving us was great and busting her butt handling all of the tables at lunch time. Kudos to ber! read more

The business is next door to CVS Pharmacy and is reminiscent of an old-school Italian eatery. It's dark inside and can use a little more lighting. The decor is from the '60s. The staff is friendly but were behind on taking and fulfilling orders because of a city-wide power outage. They only had two cooks when we came on a Wednesday. We dined on a Large thin "white" pizza which was cooked to perfection accompanied by a "small" antipasto salad which was huge. The food had great flavor and the garlic bread appeared to be homemade. We were greeted as soon as we went in. There was several of us and they showed us where the biggest table was. The atmosphere was very friendly. But their food was wonderful,such large portions. My son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren live in Camp Verde and I am from South Carolina planning on moving to Camp Verde. This will be our go to place when we get here. This restaurant is a not so hidden gem, located in the Verde Village. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It has a classical feeling with very cute paintings on its walls, soothing music, and dim lighting. The service is also wonderful. Though when we went, there was only one server, she was very friendly. The salads taste great and even the half size was very big. They have a variety of sauces for your salads too. The pizza itself is indescribably delicious. Their thick dough gives the pizza a very soft texture that nearly melts in your mouth. And I normally am not a crust enjoyer, but the crust here tasted so good, I would probably even order it by itself. Most pizzas are also topped like a mountain with how many toppings there, giving you a great deal for the price. Their large pizzas, for about $20, could feed 4 people! The author of the new Roadside Geology of Arizona was giving a talk about his book at the Mineralogical Society of Arizona meeting last Wednesday and he mentioned Crusty's Pizza in Camp Verde. Rockhounds are also chow hounds so we decided to try it last night. We drove from Phoenix to the Verde Valley to attend the Clarkdale Mineral Show. Joanna had a small pizza with onions and double sausage (no cheese) and they fixed her's perfectly. I had a small deluxe pizza and it was delicious. And we shared a salad. Pizza dough was raw. Veggies were cooked separately from the pizza because they were partially cooked and not attached to the cheese.. the crust was soft the bread was wet like a dough ball so after reheating for 10 minutes at 360 degrees the pizza was almost cooked all the way through. The hot wings also needed extra cooking time as they were very soggy.. the flavor of the pizza was good. But ill never return again for $50 worth of raw food. Only 1 ranch dressing was with the order and I had to pay for it even though I purchased an order of 12 wings. I imagine since this restaurant has been in business for over 30 years, the owners either need to buy a new pizza oven and deep fryer or attempt to clean the old model that they have because it is barely able to melt cheese. I have many decades of experience in the pizza business and sadly this isn't my 1st bad experience here. I will not be back. But hopefully they can learn to cook or fix their equipment. read more

This is next to a grocery store in a shopping center. It has a very casual atmosphere. Perhaps a bit too casual but we ordered for take-out so not a big deal. The pizza was good but not great. The beef sandwich was overlooked and so I had to wait for that to be cooked. They offered me a drink while I waited and were very friendly and apologetic. I wouldn't hold that against them. We went to Fossil creek and this place was nearby and my friends really like pizza so we stopped by. This place was kind of hidden so it was harder to find at first. This place doesn't look like much at the beginning but their pizzas are so good! We were super hungry after the hike, with a group of 4 of us, we ordered the Crusty's special and Crusty's deluxe, both large. I don't like olive so we asked for half of the deluxe to have olive and half don't. They put so much ingredient on both of the pizzas, which made every bite full of meat, so good. I especially liked the Crusty's special! I think that is barbecue sauce on it, the pizza was juicy but no too oily, and the meat made it so satisfying. I am usually not a huge pizza fan but it surprised me how good that one was. We finished everything and 2 large were enough for all of us. We left very satisfied. read more
