We went to Johnny Mo's for the first time. We tried: Buffalo wings - these were probably our least favorite buffalo wings we have ever had in a restaurant. They were rubbery - like they had only been boiled or steamed. The fat inside the wings was not fully rendered out. They had no crunch and crisp that makes a classic buffalo wing delicious. They should be placed in a fryer or at least under a broiler to get them crisp. Pepperoni, sausage, meatball Chicago pizza - this was good. The tomato sauce was tasty - but way too watery. It needs to be cooked down to be thicker and more concentrated. When we cut the pizza a lot of the sauce came sliding off. And the crust was oddly crunchy on the sides. But the flavor was tasty and the ingredient quality was pretty good. read more

The shop itself is so cute. We sat on the patio which was covered and spotless. The people working were very friendly. We like how kid friendly it is. They gave the kids coloring sheets and crayons to keep them busy. Even the box is fun for kids to color. The pizza is decent. The crust is very good, thin and crusty. The pizza sauce wasn't my favorite but that's my only negative. We ordered a whole pizza with half pepperoni and it the price was excellent! read more

Came with a fellow mom & our toddlers. Although the menu only shows medium & large pizzas, you can also order minis (or personal size) which was what we did. My kid & I shared 1 mini pizza together. We got the urban bridge. The crust was not as thin or crunchy as I expected. However in terms of toppings and ingredients, it was great. The olives they used were not your run of the mill canned ones - they were nice flavorful Mediterranean olives. Also the way the ingredients worked together was perfect. I really enjoyed the pizza, and I'm not usually a pizza lover. Would absolutely come again to try another flavor. read more

Service - staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant wasn't that busy at 7pm on a Saturday night. Had plenty of available tables if you wanted to walk-in. Ambiance - clean and modern. Big enough space for people to have a group eating. Food - overall good. We enjoyed the deep dish pizzas over the standard pizzas. The chicken wings were a good price for portion size. Everything came out hot. read more

Our first - and last! - time ordering from this restaurant. Let's start with the Caesar salad although I wish I hadn't. There was dirt and grit in the folds of the lettuce. I called the restaurant and they assured me a machine cleans their lettuce. Welp, might be helpful if a person checked the machine's work Ok the pizza. I had their Spicy and all I could taste was the jalapenos. The dough seemed undercooked. read more

Bottom line: Excellent, authentic Chicago deepdish. First time trying this spot, went in without any expectations or preconceptions. Everything was delicious and I am now a convert. We ordered three things: Jalapeno poppers, Arugula and Prosciutto Salad, and the Mo Meat Chicago Style. To specifically call out a previous review stating the poppers were "weird:" I completely disagree with this perspective. They are excellent baked, very flavorful and perhaps even better than typical fried poppers; highly recommended. Salad was very generous, with tons of cheese and prosciutto. Enough to make up a whole meal. The deep dish was one of the best Chicago styles I've had outside of Chicagoland. It outclasses most of them, in my opinion (my gold standard being Lou Malnatis, which may be contentious). I will now no longer need to be on the hunt for a decent pie for a taste of my hometown. Service was friendly and attentive, with quick refills on soft drinks and a huge bowl of water offered for our dogs. Lovely patio; great to sit out during the last bits of bluebird weather we're having. read more

How I heard of this place: It was first, through my sister-in-law, at the Portage Bay location that I learned of Johnny Mo's. We have since visited that location on more than one other occasion, and found this one when looking for a spot downtown Edmonds to enjoy a meal with a family party of nine. Type of cuisine: New York and Chicago style pizzas served in one location - get what you love! Ambiance: The new building boasts a large restaurant that houses Johnny Mo's. A bar-like setting, large tables and small for parties of all sizes. Televisions display sporting events. Being the winter season, twinkling lights, a tree and decorations are a reminder of the Christmas season. Dark grey walls and surroundings make for a dark, cool space. What I ordered: Garlic Knots ($10) - Strips of ny dough tied in knots and drizzled with garlic, seasoning, butter, and. sprinkled with parmesan after bake served with marinara sauce. Chicken Wings ($17 for 8 wings) - Baked wings tossed in your choice of scrumptious sauces, buffalo, BBQ or lemon pepper dry rub served with ranch or blue cheese for dipping. For our main dishes, we selected the Sweety Pie ($37 for the large 18") - Mozzarella, salami, oregano, red pepper flakes, feta, peruvian hot peppers and homemade tomato sauce, finished with Mike's Hot Honey, the Classic New York Pepperoni ($32) - Fresh shredded mozzarella, provolone, pepperoni and homemade sauce with imported tomatoes, and The Grinder ($37) - Mozzarella, provolone, salami, peperoncinis, roasted red peppers, topped with prosciutto, Italian vinaigrette and arugula. What I loved: Each of the pizzas offered a lovely, freshness - with the arugula atop to the homemade sauce, the crisp vegetables and the plentiful helping of pepperoni. Why I loved it: The flavors are novel and interesting, delicious and well balanced. Cost: High read more

Johnny blows... This place might stay open because of high foot traffic, but the food is certainly below average. Wings were cooked terribly. Absolutely Maillard-less. The ranch was an embarrassment (seriously, how can you make ranch this bad?). The pizzas have long flavor barren crusts. The "prosciutto" tasted like deli ham. The basil, onions, arugula, and other fresh vegetables were great. The dough and sauce certainly leaves something to be desired. Bad pizza, bad wings, inexplicably high prices. Don't bother. read more

It's nice to have a (relatively) new pizza joint in Edmonds. They have nice outdoor seating, and the food came quickly. Sometimes there's live music near the restaurant you can hear from the balcony. Great selection of cocktails. The thing that stood out most to me was that the sauce had incredible flavor. Personally, I think the sauce can make or break a pizza, and without the right spices it can taste bland. Here, that is not the case. I got a calzone, and it wasn't my thing since the sausage inside didn't get crispy but rather steamed. The pizzas are better than calzones here. Would come again. read more

Johnny Mo's Pizzeria - Lavender cocktail with gin - Pizza Near Me - Edmonds, Washington

Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. the main issue I had was the tomato sauce was too watery and just ran out when we cut into the pizza. Other Chicago style pizza's I've had had a much thicker and cooked down sauce. The crust was good, but just wish it was a little more flakey. The flavors for the food overall were fine, just the textures and execution was lacking. Cocktails were pretty expensive and not very well balanced. They were all very alcohol forward. The location is really cool, but unfortunately the design of the restaurant causes a cold draft to form whenever anyone opens the entrance door and anyone sitting close to the stairs will really feel it. If you really need the deep dish fix, this will provide, but I would probably skip the cocktails. read more

Delicious pizza in a beautiful restaurant! And our server was awesome; great personality; super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back and encourage everyone reading this to try them out for yourself and ignore the bad reviews. My husband and I shared an 18" New York Pizza which we customized by going half-and-half with two of their pie options. It's so cool they let you do that so you can experience two different pies for the same price of getting one. The dough was sooo good! It had that perfect NYC combination of chew and crisp. Our first half was in the Evergreen Pesto style which was topped with: mozzarella (we subbed in vegan cheese), goat cheese, pesto, mushrooms, red onion, artichokes, and spinach. The second half was in the Nature's Green style which was topped with: vegan mozzarella, dollops of homemade sauce with imported tomatoes, vegan chorizo, red onion, roasted garlic and peperoncinis. They were extremely generous with the toppings (look at the photo) so the entire pie was covered and every bite had an explosion of flavors! All the veggies tasted super fresh (not frozen) and were cooked perfectly. It was hard to decide which half of the pizza either of us liked more because both were so delicious. Our friend got a Chicago pizza with mushrooms and meatballs. The crust was the right thickness level to allow the sauce and cheese to shine which were both great: the sauce was a chunky, savory masterpiece, and the brick cheese loaded in had an amazing cheese pull with the satisfying creamy, comfort tastiness. read more

It's wonderful to see more restaurant businesses coming into our thriving Edmonds downtown scene. Johnny Mo's Pizzeria is one of those businesses and is booming! We have been wanting to check out their pizzas for a while. We finally took the chance and we opted for a take out for our first experience. We used Ubereats for a pick-up order. We got a Chicago-style deep-dish pie and a New York-style pizza. We especially enjoyed their New York pizza. It was delicious and every bite was wonderful. I did not enjoy their deep-dish pizza as much and I am pretty sure this is purely a personal preference. While waiting for my pizzas, I was inside the restaurant and saw how busy they were. All the tables were full and I enjoyed the family-friendly atmosphere. Dining in is our goal for our second experience! read more

Decided to try a handful of things here over the weekend. We got a white pizza as well as a Chicago style (they said they were out of the hot honey one - not sure what they were out of whether it was an ingredient or if they're premade and ran out) - so we got the one with all the meats. I didn't care for this one! The crust was thin and the corners were very crunchy despite the absolute tomato swimming pool in the middle of the pan. The white pizza was fantastic. I might be biased because my favorite pizza toppings include prosciutto and arugula, but I think this was perfect, and could be even better if I had some hot honey to drizzle on top. The jalapeño poppers were better than they looked, though the dip held most of the flavor. Overall it was a good experience and I'll be back to try more pizzas! read more

Doing a new restaurant date night we ended up here. The menu was mind blowing. The fun pizza, both NY and Chicago style pizza options?!?! Wow. We ended up with the grinder pizza and a hot honey pep. They both were fantastic. Service was great and friendly. Would like to see more business in this spot. Next time I would order the pizza well done, it was a little floppy for my liking. read more

Service was excellent! Kudos to the staff! New York style pizza was so bland. No flavor to the sauce and a half veggie/half Hawaiian was like $32 dollars for a medium. Super kind hospitality -- makes me want to go back! I chose to dine at the outer terrace because of the warm weather and sunset. A pizzeria centrally located in the heart of Edmonds, perfect outdoor / rooftop dinning area, and atmosphere is modern yet rustic. And the attentive service was just icing on the cake. The piazza we had was good and crust was perfectly bubbled. But it was forgettable... However, be sure to try their jalapeños poppers! Tasty, perfect charred jalapeños, and melted cheese; do I need to say more?! read more

Shockingly bad quality for the price, cannot believe the ingredients they used. Processed chicken, frozen peas, not even fresh natural mozzarella. Paying $30 for a totally processed pie? No thanks, stick to ordering Pagliacci's (or MoDo for Detroit-style, just down the street) read more

Looking for a great rooftop restaurant/bar in Edmonds with good food? They only have a few outdoor tables so if you are looking to sit out on the patio, you may need to wait. They initially told us it would be about a 30-min wait but that it might be longer. We went out on the patio and decided that it was worth the wait, but we noticed an empty table and asked if that was possibly going to be our table. They said no, and we told them that we were going to walk around Edmonds while we waited (they text you when your table is getting close to being ready). We walk down the stairs, out the restaurant and didn't even make it 1/2 block when they texted us. I get the feeling that maybe there was some miscommunication regarding the empty table out on the patio, and it was pretty much just a bunch of teens running the front desk, but we were happy to not have to wait, so we quickly walked back and got our table. We got two pizzas although mine definitely was the better pizza. My friend got the vegan one which tasted like Mexican food to me (I've definitely had far better vegan pizzas, so was a bit disappointed with this one) and I had the pepperoni which was a bit overly greasy but still delicious! I got the small pizza but they are still super large so I had a ton to take home, yay!!! I had leftovers for days and even gave my mom some when she came over for Mother's Day and she really liked it too. Drinks are a bit pricey and they charge you separately for the alcohol and for the mixer. A well rum was I believe $12 + $1 for the coke (mixer) = $13. Next time I'll probably just have the pizza (or maybe try a pasta or something) and skip the drinks. Service was great, the ambiance was great, sitting in the sun with the umbrellas was gorgeous on a beautiful day with sunshine and warm weather. A fun experience and will definitely be back! read more

My family and I have met here in the past for family get-togethers and have always liked the pizza. It is a convenient location, since my sister lives in Port Townsend and can walk on the ferry to Edmonds from Kingston. My personal experience on June 19 has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I doubt we will return. It was a holiday, the first day of the Edmonds Arts Festival, and the US was playing Australia in Seattle at noon in the World Cup. In spite of all those events, only one poor server was scheduled to work when they opened at 12:00. There were a number of tables filled with families, friends out to watch the game, and a few of us at the bar. I was the second person in the door. I wasn't in a big hurry and didn't have small children to deal with, but I felt super sorry for the waiter. I ordered a single slice of cheese pizza, which took 15 minutes and was pretty tasteless. I happened to run into a manager on my way out at 12:36, as he was arriving for work. When I explained the situation, he got very defensive and said more people would be showing up to work soon. I found his attitude towards me, a senior citizen, very hard to take. Not at all gracious or customer-oriented. read more

Johnny Mo's Pizzeria - "Jalapeño popper" this was so icky. - Pizza Near Me - Edmonds, Washington

Brand new semi-secret Pizzeria in the Edmonds Bowl. Practically, right out of the oven is another pizza joint in downtown Edmonds. Nesting over the Molly Moon Ice Cream parlor (maybe they can collaborate--hint) in a still being constructed corner on the upper east side of Main Street, the place has a really chill vibe and the vegetarian,oven-baked, pizza slice I order was great enough for me to want to return and grab the rest of the pie. Pizza is such a competitive restaurant concept. The price points direct, if not dictate, patrons to continue pacing the sidewalk or commit to sliding into the long bench of the booth. Johnny Mo fits snug in the pocket. The price was justified by the pizza. The crust is the next thing for me that makes or breaks the pizza experience. The crust is the traditional thin(net) crust and it has signs of burn, but yet fresh. The ingredients were fresh and cooked well. The staff seemed excited to be working. They had that giddy and gritty child-awaiting-parents on Christmas morning energy. Patiently pumped to prove their pizza can compete with the too many pizzerias within the few square miles around it. I recommend this place. It seems built for families and a younger crowd to create and sustain a tight door stop that will prompt its door open for years to come. In order to do this, they will need to figure out its soda options. Ordering and drink 12 oz., can of soda probably bought at Costco is an awkward business plan. Fountain service stations are as staple to pizza parlors as pitchers of beer are to a pub. They will figure this out soon, I assume. They seem to be savvy. This is good place for pizza. It will only get better over time. Good job, Johnny. Welcome to the neighborhood. We will be back fo' Mo. read more

Johnny MO's coming to Edmonds is major news. This spot rocks. Visited Johnny MO's new location recently and had the most amazing experience! Staff was super friendly, food came out quick, ambience was great for a summer day sitting on the rooftop patio. My husband and I ordered the classic New York cheese pizza, and a few others. We actually loved it so much we drove 45 minutes a few days later to try more amazing pies. They have a great lunch combo deal that includes a slice and salad (I think $15 maybe $18). All the salads are fresh and packed with flavor! My favorite was the arugula one with pears and a balsamic dressing. Excellent cocktails as well, they have a refreshing POG (pineapple, orange, guava juice) beverage with Tito's that taste like vacation in a cup. In addition to a fill bar they have great local beer and wines as well. read more

The space is cute and their beer list is fine but that was the worst pizza I have ever had st a pizza establishment.
