Don't waste your time OR money on this dive! Decor was great and that was about all. Service was terrible, very slow. Ordered simple Mac and cheese for my grandson and I took more than 30 minutes! Ordered shrimp basket, shrimp were way overlooked and both fries and shrimp were cold. ( $12.49!) Daughter ordered fish & chips, fish was swimming with grease and fries were cold. Other daughter ordered a melt and was cold. Complained about order taking too long and food tasting terrible and all I got was an, "Oh, sorry to hear that." Total bill was nearly $40 and not worth even one dollar. Horrible. Cannot believe there were even customers at this place. It should be closed down. read more

Very good food! Staff was very friendly and service was good. I one of the specials for 6.99 and was a large chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn and a roll. Delicious. My friend had the other special, a pulled pork sandwich. She also got a side of fries and onion rings and soup. All very good. then we ordered a Reuben sandwich for her son to go. When they asked us to join them at Johnny J's I got on Yelp to get directions and read reviews. It's perfectly styled after a 50's diner. Service was excellent. The staff was superb. Great diner food, fast friendly service, awesome shakes and the green chili is excellent!

They don't take reservations but were able accept our large party with just a small hiccup- but while waiting for our table, our waiter, Terry, was able to take our order while we were waiting. Food was really good- fried chicken was yum!!! Sides were Midwest diner- mac and cheese ok, but masked potatoes were perfectly lumpy. Didn't miss the gravy. Great place to eat! We found it while driving down 2nd St looking for a place to eat, and we're glad we did! The food, service, and decor were all great. We were going to order ice cream, and they told us that since it was our first time coming there, we got free Sundaes, so that was definitely a plus! We signed up for their rewards card (which is free), even though we live 2.5 hours away, because we'll definitely be eating there every time we come to Casper! read more

Very bland food it's like they don't cook with any seasoning. Even when almost all of the menu being burgers you would think they would put a better step forward. Service was great very pleasant just the food had to be sent back and even when it came back it wasn't right. Would love to see improvements then I would love to come back. where to start?! The server Chris took great care of us. Me and my girlfriend were splitting some things and without us asking for us he split everything we ordered in two. Burger and fries in two baskets, salad on two plates, milkshake in two glasses. Then we paid and left. 3 and a half hours and a couple hundred miles later I stopped for gas in another state and realized my wallet was missing. I had left in at the Johnny J's. I called and talked to manager Pat and she assured me she would ship it to me right away. My phone rings the next morning and it's Pat with a tracking number for me for the expressly shipped package containing my wallet, which I really needed considering I just moved from Colorado to Montana. I can't thank you guys enough for the service!!! Anybody that is passing through here should definitely stop by and check this spot out. Great great GREAT people working there! read more

We ate there for lunch on a Sunday and service was very slow. The food was also mediocre, my chicken sandwich was tougher than I'd prefer. Perhaps their breakfast items are better, but as far as lunch, you can do better than this. read more

Driving threw Casper ( again ) my husband, two year old daughter and I got hungry. Wanted something new . After reading many reviews on different restaurants we decided on Johnny j 's . We were very glad we did . Loved it from the time we drove up. It was terrific atmosphere , everybody was very friendly , was clean and we very much enjoyed the menu. Everything sounded do good and lots of choices. The best part was that the food wAs really good . I guess that wasn't the best part though because when we got the bill it was under $30 , and we even got a meal for the little one . Will defiantly go back next time threw. read more

This place is always busy, be prepared to wait. I have never been here when there weren't people waiting to get in. Order your shake early or it will be a while till you get it. Nice staff and fun decor. Food is diner style and tastes good. read more

Johnny J's is the place to go if you are hungry in Casper and want a home cooked tasting meal. Anything prepared by Freda is going to taste delicious. We came for breakfast after reading excellent reviews on Yelp. Was not disappointed. We had bacon & eggs w/ a bisquit and bacon & eggs w/ pancakes. So much food and prepared as if you were at someones home. Excellent food and great service. Don't forget to take home their pecan roll, cinnamon roll for a late treat and some bisquits too. Our party stopped at half a dozen different diners in Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota in August and Johnny J's in Casper WY was our favorite of the bunch. We loved the ambiance and cleanliness of the diner, the service couldn't have been better, and the cheeseburgers and omelets were just fine. We bumped into this diner by mistake but ended up being delighted. We highly recommend it, and the next time we are looking for breakfast or lunch in the area this is definitely where we will stop. read more

Went to this place for breakfast with my son and should have known something was up when we got seated right away and Eggingtons had a crowd waiting for seats. Absolutely the worst eggs Benedict I've ever had in my life. The English muffin was cold, the Canadian bacon was tougher than most shoe soles I own and the poached egg was hard as a rock. The hollandaise sauce was maybe a teaspoon full on each one. They should remove this from the menu after screwing it up as bad as they did, or maybe went to Ihop or Eggingtons to find out what eggs Benedict is really about. I didn't think it could get any worse and then the fried potatoes that I ordered instead of hash browns showed up crisp on the outside and raw on the inside, not good. I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. I ordered my eggs over medium, they came over raw. The steak was tough, over cooked and salty. The has browns were under cooked. I gave the toast to my dog and he had no complaints. read more

My wife and I had lunch there on May 20th. Just to try a new place. I ordered the lunch special and my wife ordered the marinated chicken sandwich. We did not get waited on for quite some time. It took even longer for the meals to be served. My tips and noodles were not served hot, even cold on the sides. My wife's chicken was not marinated the special BBQ sauce was only pored onto the meat. The bun it came on had a very hard crust. Half way thru the meal my wife said " Do not bring me here again" The server finely returned to check on us. I did complain about the semi hot meal I got, She said "I'll tell the manager" and walked off. I had eaten about 2/3rds of my meal. The manage finely came over and said "How are things?" I told him my meal was not served hot and the chicken breast was not marinated as stated on the menu. He did look at my plate, looked up at me and stated "Can I take your plate from the table" (or words to that effect) I responded yes. He took my plate, walked away and did not return. I love the pot roast and the broasted chicken, but the service is not always the best. They seem to have a pretty high turnover rate. The atmosphere is cheesy but fun. The cherry coke is killer. Great place to take the kids. read more
